PERSONALITY: Chip is a strange one. He doesn't really like human contact, unless it comes from Alice or even Savvy on occasions, but adores other horses. He's a herd animal for sure, and finds his comfort in Alice's other horse and Savvy's mare. He has a temper though, and will bite and kick when angered. It's due to his past, and he feels very sorry for himself afterwards. He doesn't like hurting others, he just gets very nervous around strangers and hates having humans in his face. Even Alice has to be careful around him.
To ride, he's very nervous. Everything has to be investigated before he responds adequately. He doesn't buck or rear, but will take off very frequently. He doesn't like the arena very much, but will work eventually. He adores the trails as it doesn't make him feel trapped like the arena does. He also prefers to be in the pastures all year round as stables make him nervous.
HISTORY: Chip and Alice's other horse are from the same sanctuary Alice has volunteered at for the past six years. She fell in love with the pair and has been working with them since she started there. Now that she's come to Park, the owners have allowed her to take both Chip and the other with her. Alice hasn't had to pay for them as her hard work with them was pay enough.
Chip's history is sketchy for the two years he didn't live at the sanctuary. He used to shake constantly when he turned up, and had cuts all up his legs. He was seized from a dealer, along with ten other horses, and brought to the sanctuary. Two weeks later, Alice started there. She's been working with him ever since. It's though that he was kept in solitary confinement and was beaten, which means he likes expanse places with company, and despises being crowded. Alice hopes to help him trust others during their stay at Park.

BARN NAME: Zoe
AGE: Eighteen
GENDER: Mare
COLOR: Light Bay
BREED: Draft Mule
HEIGHT: 17 HH
PERSONALITY: Zoe is a gentle, quiet soul. She's been through a lot in her life, and the fact that she's now got it very easy has almost humbled her. She moves with surprising grace and tries to stay in the background as much as possible. It's quite hard though due to her large stature. She can become very nervous when in crowds though, and like her companion Chip she prefers to stay in the pastures all year round than go in her stall. She handles with no troubles and would never dream of biting or kicking. She truly is a pleasure to work with. Her teeth are very worn down though so Alice spends a lot of time getting her to actually eat and has to water down the food for her. She has to eat as much as she possibly can, as she looses weight at a fast rate. She is also becoming quite arthritic and is only ridden for half an hour daily, maybe an hour if Alice skips a day.
As said before, she's only ridden for half hour but she's perfectly behaved for it unless a large vehicle comes past. She'll spook quite violently, but usually calms down almost instantly. She used to be a cart horse, so has a fear of whips as she was repeatedly hit by them while working. She likes the trails, but can't go very far down them as it makes her limbs ache, but she's also up for going in the arena any time. She enjoys thinking while she works with Alice, as she's very intelligent and likes to have her mind occupied constantly.

Zoe's history was that she was bought by a cruel man when she was just a filly and has been abused ever since. She was repeatedly beaten and set to work which was very straining on her stature. Never would she fight back, which seemed to encourage the man. Covered in scars, she was handed into the sanctuary where Alice and Chip already were, a mere bag of bones. She instantly palled up with the nervous Chip, and Alice focused some of her loving attention on the mare. That was three years ago, and they have been inseparable ever since.
