Harry grinned as he glanced down at his watch. Bianca, the not-so-little filly foal of Magick, was tearing around the field throwing up mounds of snow with every footfall. Harry had been watching - and laughing - for almost half an hour now, caught up in the filly's delight in her first time out in the snow. His thoughts switched over where his other horses were, did he need to move them before he went to collect his two new pups? Casey and Oscar were both in their stables, Casey detested snow and Oscar stayed where she was. Magick on the other hand had clearly passed down the snow-loving gene to her daughter and was in the field. The rug that the Friesian-Arabian cross was wearing wasn't the warmest of rugs though, she has managed to tear that one the day before. Sighing at the thought that he must get it fixed, Harry turned from Bianca's paddock and started the walk down to the other paddocks where Magick was. The thin jacket he was wearing offered little protection from the cold, and an involuntary shiver passed through his body. If he didn't run unto Remii on the yard, he would grab a coat on the way to her room.
The mare's halter was hanging on the gate to her paddock, and she came trotting over at the sight of her owner. It raised a faint smile to Harry's lips that she came so willingly, Magick could be rather... stand-offish if she felt like it. As though she could hear his thoughts, the mare gave a impatient snort whilst the male fumbled with the catch to secure it on her head. Leading the mare into the yard, he slipped off the halter as she entered the stall, he had mucked out and tied a haynet up after turning her out. Sure, the college employed people to do those things, but in Harry's mind that was part of owning a horse. He knew that some students did the same as him - mucking out whenever they had the time, but a lot of the students looked down on those jobs, not understanding why they should bother.
A sigh escaped the male's lips as his eyes flicked across the yard. No sign of Remii. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, he typed out a quick message to the girl, his girlfriend - although the words felt funny in his mind. To him the word seemed to describe a different relationship than the one between himself and Remii, and certainly a different type of girl. Do you want to come and collect the pups with me? Harry. He slipped the mobile back into his pocket whilst he waited for a reply, the thing he had brought almost five years ago now. All it did was make calls and send texts. He smiled, remember when he has discovered the phone also had an alarm and he had managed to set it for midnight accidentally. Another thing that differentiated him from the large majority of students here. Who needs a phone that does fifty million things, phones are for contacting people.
A short double beep let him know Remii had replied, but his mind was on puppy names as he retrieved the phone. He'd had weeks to think of names, but somehow he just hadn't come up with anything good. Remii was creative though, and the male made a mental note to brainstorm with her on the way. If she was coming. The depressing thought landed in his mind, but he shook it out quickly. Remii and him had been through their rough patch during the summer when they had no contact, and now the male was at the stage of working up the courage to be able to describe his feelings to her in words. Smiling, he opened the text message and set off across the yard.
ooc: I thoroughly dislike it. It will get better once Remii is in it, promise!

I NEED ANOTHER STORY. SOMETHING TO GET OFF MY CHEST.I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY SECRETS AWAY.TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. SOMETHING THAT WAS LIKE THOSE YEARS.------------------------------------------------------------------ The small mare beneath her was whinnying with so much passion, Remii couldn't help but laugh. The pair were streaming along the trail, Fade's hind legs kicking out into a buck every now and then. It was hard to think that she was the same pony. Now her expression was almost always happy, if it wasn't, you knew she was going to have a brief fit of rage. She had turned into a miniature Flax, throwing fits for no apparent reason. But she did love to stretch her legs, and Remii had to admit that she liked the mares feisty character. She was still a sweetheart deep down, just had a few issues that she liked to hide. They were coming nearer to the end of the trail, and Remii decided it was time for a short gallop. Urging the plucky mare on, she grinned when the mare complied beautifully. She bucked once more, but Remii stayed firmly sat in the saddle. With all of her horses, except Oscar, having the mischievous gene, she was used to the sudden bucks and rears by now. Fade's actions rarely fazed her. Although, she did have the tendency to suddenly stop and want to roll. Thankfully, that hadn't happened for weeks now. They came to the end of the trail all too soon, and Remii pulled the mare to a canter, then to a trot and eventually a walk. As they slowed, Remii felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Her brow rose curiously, transferring the reins into one hand and digging into her pocket. The id made her smile happily, clicking it to open her smile widened. Sure. Just coming back from the trails, will be there soon. she sent, putting the phone away and adjusting her seat. Fade had taken the time where Remii texted to graze. Remii pulled up her head and coaxed her into a walk. Even though there was an irritated swish of her tail, Fade complied and they were quickly on their way toward the yard.
They got there just in time to see Harry leaving. With a smile, she coaxed Fade into a trot and they went to meet him. "I'll just put her away." she smiled, reaching over to squeeze his shoulder affectionately. It was all she could really do while still on horse back. Fade eyed Harry with acute interest, suddenly shoving him with her maw as if to demand attention. Rolling her eyes, Remii waited for Harry to fuss the impatient mare and then made her walk on. Another friendly face them came into view. Thyme's head appeared from over Whisper's stall door. He'd refused to come out on the trails, deciding that keeping Whisper company in his stall was a better idea. He barked his greeting enthusiastically, causing Fade to pin her audits. She wasn't Thyme's biggest fan. Dismounting, she led the mare into her stall where her feed already was. The mare strained to get to the bucket, but Remii held her back. The female had a lot of strength for how petite and skinny she was. Taking Fade's bridle off, and then allowed the mare to feed. Leaning the bridle over the stall door, she then took off the saddle. Picking up the tack, she left the stall and let Thyme from Whisper's stall. The gelding was feeding from his hay net and was too busy to acknowledge his owner. Chuckling, she closed the stall door once more and she and Thyme made their way to the tack room.
The tack was put away quickly, and Remii was now making her way over to meet Harry once again. She came up behind him and slipped her hand into his automatically. Her palms were still very scarred, but they were slowly fading. She knew they'd be there for a while to come yet. She grinned up at him, suddenly remembering the times where they had been pretty equal in height. She hadn't grown from her 5'7 height since she'd met Harry, but now he towered over her. It would have intimidated her if she didn't know him so well. "Names?" she questioned, smiling at how easy it was for her to speak around him now. She still struggled around other people, but it came naturally around Harry now. She didn't have ideas for names for the puppies yet, but she hadn't seen them. When she did though, ideas would begin to swarm her mind. Thyme, who had been momentarily distracted by another human on the yard, spotted Harry and bounded over. His lumbering frame danced excitedly around Harry's legs, jumping up on him suddenly. He strained to reach Harry's face, wanting to smother him with doggy kisses. Remii rolled her eyes, what was it with her pets? They all had a slight obsession with Harry, except Flax. But Flax was a horse nobody could please unless they came in a small, dark haired and dark eyes frame and answered to the name 'Remii'. Even she had problems with him. Looking at Harry, she smiled and gestured her hand ahead of her, as if to ask if they were going.

Harry paused on his journey towards the yard gate when his phone received a reply. Clicking open the text he saw Remii was on her way here anyway. He shoved the phone in his pocket, not bothering to reply if she would be back in a moment. Leaning against a stable, it didn't take long for her to come trotting into sight on Fade, the pretty little mare she had picked up from the auction a while ago. Like most of Remii's equines, the change in the mare after some time with the girl was amazing, and Harry laughed slightly as whilst Remii explained she would be ready after putting the horse away Fade pushed her head into his side. Rubbing her forehead lightly, he let them head off to the stable. Letting Remii untack, he wandered over to make a fuss of her other horses. Flax pulled a face and avoided him - no change there then - but he simply shrugged his shoulders at the equine and moved on. Oscar, Whisper and Riddle were all grateful. Harry was still technically caring for Oscar, due to Remii's large herd and of course Oscar's love for his mare. He wondered what was going to happen with Fade. Now the little pony was so much better, Remii had mentioned the idea before of finding a good home for the mare. He sighed, he loved all of the girl's horses practically equally to his own, but he couldn't allow her to get so bogged down with horses that she had another breakdown as she had done a while ago. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he heard Remii approaching him and turned to smile at her as her hand fell into his.
She questioned him on names, and he took a moment to smile and reminisce about when she had spoken no more than her did. Both of them were starting to talk more, but Harry was taking longer over it. During classes when he spent most of his time with Remii too, he knew she found it more difficult to talk but it was coming slowly. With only a slight effort, he answered out loud. "Not yet," he continued smiling. As he finished speaking he started to wonder where Thyme was, only to be greeted by the dog jumping up at him. A chuckle escaped his lips as he fussed the dog before pushing him gently to the ground. Remii's questioning gesture led to another couple of words being spoken, "Cedar Street". Words came quite freely, with minimal effort around Remii, but the idea of a proper sentence still frightened him. On occasions he had with Remii though, she was the only person he trusted enough.
Opening the gate, he held it open for the girl before following through behind her. He double checked it was fastened automatically before they started off for the parking lot. The small truck he owned but very rarely used was being taken for the journey. Although they could easily walk into town, walking back with the puppies perhaps wouldn't be so fun. They were nearly ready for their final vacs, but he didn't think they were supposed to be out in public yet anyway. He opened the faded red door of the passenger side for Remii - a perfect gentleman - before climbing into his side. It roared to life, not exactly the quietest of vehicles, and he turned out of the college grounds for the short drive to Cedar Street. The roads into town were almost empty, it was past midday now and most people were either staying at the college today or already in town. Keeping one hand on the wheel, he pulled some scrunched up paper and a rather short pencil from his pocket and leant it against the dashboard so he could scrawl out a few words, his writing even messier than normal as he kept his eyes on the road. How are you? Fade looks really good, she's improved loads. Well done. He slid it into her hand and waited for a reply with a smile on his face.

I NEED ANOTHER STORY. SOMETHING TO GET OFF MY CHEST.I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY SECRETS AWAY.TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. SOMETHING THAT WAS LIKE THOSE YEARS.------------------------------------------------------------------ She just smiled when he told her he hadn't thought of any names just yet. She was sure if they put their heads together they could think of something. Once Thyme was complete in his greeting to Harry, the male answered her gesture with words. She beamed at him, slight pride dancing across her pretty face. She loved to hear Harry speak, and it seemed to be happening more often. Well, around her anyway. Raising a brow at him as he held the gate open for her, she and Thyme walked through just ahead of him. She resisted the urge to climb the fence right beside the gate just to be a nuisance. Again, as she'd predicted while they walked to the parking lot, he held the vehicle door open for her. This time her eyes narrowed a little, but she kept quiet. Thyme clambered in beside her, pressing his nose into her cheek as he did so. She chuckled softly, throwing her arm over his thick neck and scratching his shoulder. The dog immediately began to pant, his tongue swiping the side of her face every now and then. Shoving him a little, laughter filling the cab of the truck, she looked to Harry who had just settled into his seat.
They sat in comfortable silence as they drove from the academy and into town. Then Harry began to dig around in his pocket and pulled out a pencil and a piece of paper. She looked at him disapprovingly as he wrote while he drove, but was glad to see he kept his eyes on the road. Taking the note from him, she smiled happily. Deciding to answer with words, looking at him accusingly as she did so. She didn't really want to swerve into the other lane, even if town wasn't busy. "I've been great these past few days. Due to Fade in fact. Thank you." she answered confidently, before scrunching up her nose as she thought. She'd decided that she was going to keep Fade, there was no way she could part with the mare now. She hadn't told Harry yet though, and she wasn't sure what his reaction with be. So, before she could stop herself, she blurted it out. "I'm going to keep her. Fade I mean." she told him, keeping her expression blank and avoiding his eyes. Then shaking her head she looked at him, awaiting his reaction. He'd probably understand, he of all people understood how attached she got to the horses she cared for.
She noted the sign that read 'Cedar Street' and they were soon pulling up in front of a modestly large house. It wasn't too big, but big enough to fit a family with ease. Remii looked to Harry, her cranium cocked questioningly. "You ready then?" she questioned, reaching for the handle of the door. She made Thyme stay inside the truck as she got out. He listened, but looked at her pitifully as she went around to Harry's side of the truck. She looked up when she heard the creak of a door, and saw a young girl emerge from the house. Behind her followed a handsome Chocolate Labrador and a gorgeous Golden Retriever, both male. Remii's eyes lit up, and she smiled warmly at the young girl. Chloe then spoke up, looking at both Harry and Remii in turn. "You must be here to pick up the two lab puppies? The runt ain't so small anymore. He's grown loads!" she informed them, using her hands to gesture how much he'd grown. He was still smaller than the other pups, but he looked healthier now. David then appeared in the door way, grinning when he spotted Harry and his female companion. "Harry! Come on in, they're all set to go. That yellow female is going to give you the run around mind. She's a little wind up merchant." he chuckled, gesturing grandly for the pair and his granddaughter to come in. Chloe bounded off to do just that, and Remii looked to Harry, awaiting for him to make the first move.

Harry shook his head in warning as he saw Remii's annoyance at him doing things for her. To him, he just wanted to protect her and do everything he possibly could. He knew that she wouldn't let him, so he pleaded to be allowed to do these simple things. Her laughter made him raise an eyebrow, giving Thyme a small fuss for making his mistress happy. Nodding, he smiled as spoke that she was happy. When she announced that she was keeping Fade, a brief flash of worry passed across his face before he replaced it with one of acceptance. "Sure, sure." Harry spoke soothingly, covering up his fear for her. She couldn't really take on another horse permanently and not have another breakdown. He ticked off her horses in his head, Oscar, Flax, Riddle, Whisper and now Fade. Along with her class horses, Theo and Maggie. Seven, although he was caring for Oscar so six really. He sighed, his mind planning how to keep her from purchasing another horse at the upcoming auction. Not that he would stop her if she found herself a rescue, Harry couldn't be that mean to her. To compare, he counted his own horses - Casey, Magick and Bianca and class horses Sunny and Trinket. And at that number, Harry was considering speaking to the Equine Reproduction teacher about Trinket. He didn't have enough time for the mare really, and her foal was due any day now. But he didn't want to give up the class which was why he was perservering.
He concentrated just enough on the road to get them to Cedar Street, but he wasn't taking anything in. When Remii queried if he was ready, he nodded and jumped out, shoving the keys into his pocket. His look of mock disapproval at Remii not waiting for him to open her door probably would earn him a glare, but he couldn't help it. Harry listened to the young girl, amused by her vivid arm gestures at how much the pups had grown. Smiling, he followed her up the path when he grandfather invited him in, taking Remii by the hand as he did so.
Entering the house, he grinned as the yellow female rushed up to him, jumping at his legs. He bent down at fussed over her for a minute, glancing at Remii to see what she thought. Moving into the living area where the puppies had been before, he quickly spotted the little black pup too. Still noticeably smaller than the other, he seemed a much healthier size now, which gave Harry a little piece of mind. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, he played for a few moments with whichever pup was closest to him, his eyes flickering to Remii every few minutes. Brushing down his legs, he pulled the money from his pocket to pay for the pups, and offered it to David with a slight smile. The older male seemed friendly and honest, something which always made Harry feel more comfortable. Knowing Remii was close to him, a couple of words slipped out in a whisper. "Thank you." Turning, he looked at Remii, wondering what she was thinking.
