The man wiped the sweat from his brow. He'd just hammered a very reluctant sign into the front lawn. Upon it "Labrador and Retriever Pups for sale!" was painted in messy, red paint. Chloe had been let loose yesterday to paint the sign. She's spent most of the time drawing a few of the puppies, before realizing that there was little room for the words. She'd managed to fit them in, but they were only just legible. David couldn't keep the grin appearing on his face though, What grandfather wouldn't be proud of that? It was a Sunday, a beautiful one at that. The autumn had well and truly hit Park now. The sun shone brightly in the sky, enhancing the wonderful coloring on the fallen leaves. Dai gave a grunt of satisfaction as he pat the sign. He had about four hours until he was due to start his shift at the hospital. Caroline and Chloe were at the livery yard tending to Bramble, and David was here checking on Melyn and Cariad whom had birthed their pups two days apart. The pups were now about two and a half old, and David was ready to start getting rid of them. Of course, they would stay with their mothers until they were old enough, but it would be nice to get some owners found ready. Leaving the front garden, he made his way back into the house, and into the front room where the afore mentioned dogs were held.
The pups had not long opened their eyes and were now gallivanting around the place, playing with each other and driving Melyn insane. Cariad didn't mind, she was the sort of mother who joined in with the games. Melyn looked on in distaste, but apart from that, the pair were very proud mothers. Dai now only had Nos to give birth and then all this season's pups would be born. David looked over his shoulder and out into the back garden. The other dogs were sprinting around in their elaborate game of chase. He watched as Henry tackled Lewis to the ground and then as Nos dived on top of them. Calon stood on the outskirts, before lifting her maw haughtily and made her way back toward the house, and through the doggy door. Trotting into the front room, she looked around before sauntering to the back of the room and placing herself down, hidden from everyone.
David now had two of the Retriever pups sat on his lap. They were both scrambling up his chest and pressing their small craniums into his neck. He chuckled, ruffling their fluffy craniums affectionately and lifting both up, one in each hand. Cariad was sprawled down in front of the sofa. She really was a relaxed mother. The rest of her pups, 5 to be exact, had all scrambled upon her and were dotted in various places. Cariad had had seven in total, where as Melyn had had six. Melyn's were scampering around all over the place, leaping on one another and what not. Two stayed close to Melyn though. The runt was a small black one, who didn't actually look very healthy. Dai placed the two retriever pups on the floor, and went over to the labs. Picking up the small black one, he inspected him closely. He panted happily at Dai's touch, which was reassuring. Melyn, not looking too bothered, allowed David to carry the youngster back to the sofa where David cradled it closely. It seemed a little colder than the others. He'd have to keep a close eye on this one.
The Labrador pups. First yellow and third yellow are female, as well as the last black. The others are male and the black male between the two yellows' is the runt. Five of the retriever pups. Two on the right hand side are male. The three on the left are female. The two retriever pups that are hidden in the back of the first picture. The two David picks up in the post. The one on the right is female and the left is male.

Harry was wondering aimlessly about the town, not really sure what he was doing. All the horses had been cared for, and there were no classes today. Remii was out with one of her horses he guessed, so he had walked up into town. He had already done his shift at Hooves and Tails for the day earlier that morning, and currently had his first pay money in his pocket. Upon receiving it, half had instantly been spent in the store on things for the horses, the other half he was intending to pay into the bank at some point.
Glancing at a street sign revealed he was on Cedar Street. Not that that meant much to him anyway, this was the first time he had explored the residential area of the town, before he had stuck to the shopping areas and Willow Lake. He looked around him as he walked, this seemed like a nice enough part of town. It reminded him of his first foster family, the only ones he had ever been with that were just your average family. Everyone else had wanted something out of him, to ride their show ponies, to stand next to them at 'formal occasions' so they looked like every other family, or just so that some rich couple could be seen to be 'doing their part for the less fortunate'. Shaking his head violently, he snapped himself out of thought and let his daydreams float towards Remii. She seemed to be improving after her somewhat breakdown a short time ago. And Oscar, Remii's gelding seemed rather delighted with how it had played out - Remii still coming along to make a fuss of him but getting to spend his time with Harry's own mare Casey. A sign covered in a child's painting of puppies caught his eye, and he stopped for a better look. His thoughts still swirling, they switched to Thyme, Remii's lovely dog. And the idea of getting his own dog that had been playing on his mind since he had arrived at PEC. Focusing on the sign he saw it was advertising puppies for sale, Labs and Retrievers to be more exact. Summoning up his courage, he checked that he had a clean and fairly unscrumpled piece of paper and pen in his pocket. Finding that he had, the boy made his way to the door and knocked gently writing out a note whilst he waited. Hello. I am Harry, I am interested in a Labrador puppy, and I saw you had some for sale. His writing reverted to a reading age of a young child, as it was for the eyes of a stranger. But it was polite and got his point across, so now he simply hoped the man wouldn't slam the door in his face and call him a lunatic.

He still had the runt cradled in his arms, as well as another lab whom had had her jaws clamped around her siblings leg and wouldn't let go. The two were now sleeping soundly in his arms, giving soft sighs or kicking their stumpy legs in their sleep. He chuckled every time, his fingers running gently up and down their bodies. Then, there was a disturbance. A knock on the door and all hell broke loose. Dogs flew from every direction, some from out the back, Sonny from upstairs, Cariad from in the room with him. David rolled his eyes as the symphony of barking started. Ushering Cariad back into the room, he carried out the two pups in his arms. The other dogs all sat then, looking at the door expectantly. He transferred the yellow lab under the other arm and she and the runt were tucked up together as he opened the front door. A young man was stood there, holding a piece of paper outstretched toward him. Dai tilted his head curiously and reached out for it. Reading the note, he grinned. "Well, that didn't take long. Come on in Harry. Don't mind this lot, their all friendly." he offered, opening the door a little wider.
Once the boy was inside, he shut the door and Lewis launched his attack on the boy. The chunky chocolate lab barked excitedly at him, slobbering all over the boy's hand. Dai clicked his fingers and the canine backed away. Before ushering Harry into the front room. Once inside there, Cariad made a fuss of Harry but not with the same enthusiasm as Lewis. Melyn and Calon looked up briefly, before going back to what they were doing. "Take your pick. Shouldn't be too long until their ready to go. And take your time, I'm in no rush to be anywhere." David informed him warmly. He placed down the two labs he had in his arms and then turned to leave the room. "Would you like a drink?"
he asked, and waited for the boys reply. Once he had it, he left and made his way to the kitchen, he entourage following close behind. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The corners of his lips started to move upwards, and Harry followed the man into the house. The chocolate colored Lab which rushed up to him reminded him of Thyme is his exuberance, raising a small smile to his face. A mixture of Labs and Retrievers surrounded him, and he shook his head at the offer of a drink. Stroking the other dog who approached him, he then moved steadily towards the Lab pups who surrounded their mum. She seemed rather unfussed that he was around her puppies, so he reached over to pick up the tiniest puppy, a small black male. The runt of the litter he guessed, observing it's small size. A yellow Lab pup was cheekily trying to persuade her mum to play, nipping at her legs. The pretty Lab mother wasn't particularly interested though, and Harry slid closer to the little yellow puppy, smiling when it came and sniffed at him. Picking it up, he found it was a female. He could already imagine the little girl playing with Thyme in the future, and she seemed perfect for him. But he hated to leave the little black pup behind, and he was faced with a dilemma. The obvious solution was to get both, and, in a rare rash decision, that's exactly what he decided to do. Sitting on the floor he cuddled and stroked the little black pup with one hand, and the other hand was playing 'catch me if you can' with the yellow pup. He looked up as the male re-entered the room.
ooc: ok, so its very very short.

Lestat allowed his feet to take him wherever he went. The rhythmic thud thud of his running was the only noise he ever made. His iPod earphones were blaring out the sounds of various artists, from AC/DC to U2 and Alphaville. Before he knew it he had reached Cedar Street, a residential area, before Elm Terrace. He ran past the houses before a sign stopped him. Puppies. Lestat perked in interest, and he saw that they were Labradors and Retrievers. Knowing that he most likely buy two, Lestat stretched out, and regained his breath before walking up to knock on the door.
Inside was a cacophony of doggy sounds, and Lestat smiled. He knew that he didn't make the best impression in his running clothes. He was sweaty, and yeah he knew that most girls would just be looking at him now. Looking at his watch, he noted that he had an hour until he had to be at work. An hour that he would need to shower and get dressed.
The door opened and Lestat smiled until he saw that it was none other than his new colleague. Lestat merely nodded. Hi, I saw you have puppies that you want to sell. Can I have a look? he asked his tone friendly. His Irish vocals were marred with a slightly French accent. He was proud of his heritage, and it gave him a certain uniqueness.

He wandered back to the front room with a mug of coffee now clutched in his hands. The warmth from it was welcomes, it was just getting colder and colder outside. He poked his head around the door and saw that Harry had the runt and also the excitable female labs' in his arms. Dai grinned, glad the pair had already found a home. "They shall be ready in six weeks, Drop by then to get them." Before he could say much more, the was another knock at the door. He'd hoped Chloe and Caroline would be home by now, but they would have just piled into the house. Walking to the door, he opened it and was greeted by a face he wasn't really too happy to see. Scowling slightly, he listened to what the man had to say. His colleague and himself had already formed a little competition between them, sadly it was pretty even at time moment so neither had bragging rights. This annoyed Dai, but Lestat's friendly tone meant David had nothing to snap at. Sighing slightly, he allowed a slight smile to lift his lips and addressed his words. "Sure, come on in. The two Harry has are already taken, but the rest are free for all."
Walking back into the front room, he didn't bother calling back the various canines that peered curiously at Lestat. He turned to speak to Harry again, to finish up what he had started saying earlier. "Right, so prices. They go cheap, I really just want them to go to a good home. You can have the runt for 20 quid, 35 for the female." He told the boy. He had been often told that his puppies went for ridiculously cheap, but he did make sure they went to go homes. If he found out they were not being cared for appropriately, he had no problem taking them back. "Anything else you'd like to know? Their first vaccinations I will have done, but after that it is down to you." His smile was warm again, he knew he'd found a good owner for the pair in Harry. His attention was turned to Lestat, his expression becoming a little cooler. "Any catch your eye?" he asked, forcing an easy tone to slip from his lips.

Harry grinned whilst he was fussing over the two pups, the smile almost vanishing at the presence of David again. He listened to the words and nodded gratefully, he could wait six weeks. It would give him more than enough time to get the things he would need. Next was the little matter of money, and he wondered if the male was about to broach the subject when the door sounded and the elder disappeared to answer. It was probably somewhere else about the puppies, and he instinctively clutched his two puppies closer to him. His mind was blank as to names for the pair, but he would probably see Remii later, and would ask her then.
David re-entered with a younger male, although still a few years older than Harry. This time he spoke about prices, and Harry was pleasantly surprised at the figures. It was rather cheap for purebred labs, even if they weren't registered - a fact which Harry neither knew nor really cared about. Nodding again, he wondered how the payment would work, leaving a deposit and such. He nodded his acknowledgement of the rest of his words, then re-adjusted the pups to leave a hand free to writing whilst David's attention turned to the other male. Do you want a deposit now? Thank you. What age will they be when I collect them? He only had one query besides that of the money, how old they would be by the time he brought them home. He guessed they were a few weeks old now, and they would probably be at least eight weeks by the time he took them, David didn't appear the sort to let them go earlier than they should. Harry passed the slip of paper over when the male's attention returned to him, a slight smile appearing on his face.

Lestat accepted the man's invitation inside. There was another male there, and by the looks of it a student. The dogs were all friendly, and he had no problem is selecting two puppies. It was hard though cause they were all so cute, but he could only give two puppies a home. He was sure that they wouldn't have trouble in finding homes. Lestat picked up a black Lab, and it was a female. This would be one of them. David spoke again to the student, but it was about money, and Lestat didn't really care about price. Time wasn't an issue as it would give him time to puppy-proof the stable area and the house.
The second pup was a difficult choice. A little Retriever pup walked up to him, and started chewing on his fingers. With the black lab in his one arm, he picked up the other one as well. The little retriever started licking his face and Lestat smiled. He had his two pups. I'll take these two, he said to David, his tone friendly. As a rule he didn't take money with him when he was running, but he would see the man at work any ways.

Before Lestat was given the chance to reply, David's attention was snatched by Harry again. Taking the note, he was intrigued as well as amused by the fact that the boy didn't speak. Reading over the note, he nodded. "Deposit what ever you can, I have no problem with you paying when you collect them or in between. And they shall be 8 and a half weeks old when you come to get them." he said, giving the paper back to the boy. Grinning at him warmly, he turned back to Lestat just in time to catch which pups' he wanted. The other black lab had gone already it seemed, this didn't surprise David. The Black labs' always went quickly. He was glad to see a Retriever had also been picked. Smiling genuinely now, he addressed the man in his usual warm tone. As much as he resented Lestat at work, he knew that his two canines would get a good home with the man. "They shall also be ready in six weeks. 35 quid for each one, first vaccinations will be sorted by myself." He wondered if there was any other information the man would need. He was pretty sure he would have heard what he said to Harry about payment and the ages, and he couldn't be bothered to repeat himself.
David poised when he heard the engine of the land rover approach the house. Chloe and Caroline were back. "Well gentlemen, I must say it has been a pleasure but I have a hungry granddaughter and wife to attend to, as well as dogs to care for before work. Doesn't your shift start in about, oh, 45 minutes Lestat?" He couldn't help but throw in the little taunt. Opening the front door, Chloe then darted inside and looked suspiciously at the two men inside. Her attention was swiftly grabbed by the ensemble of canines greeting her and went to smother the puppies and the older dogs' with attention. Caroline entered then, looking at both Harry and Lestat. "Already got some buyers then?" she chuckled, before flashing warm smiles at both men and walking into the kitchen. "I shall see you in six weeks Harry, and you later Lestat." he said, his form of a good bye. He stood patiently, holding the door open, as he awaited the pair to leave. He was hoping for no last questions.
