Hayden was sat at the bar, his face deathly pale and his oracles swamped by deep purple bags. He was shattered. Simon was getting better, and Connor was with him. He couldn't stand to be around his boyfriends twin for much longer. His patience was waring. This was when he missed Jay most. His brother had been really wrapped up in the fact that Spencer was back that he had rarely got to see him, and the fact that Hayden spent most of his time at the hospital or at work meant there was little free time. Today he'd passed up on a extra work shift though, he'd needed time with his brother. Desperately. Jay was due to arrive at any moment. Hayden couldn't wait. His beer sat untouched on the counter, he stared at it absentmindedly. Suddenly there was a whoosh as the door opened and Hayden knew exactly who it would be. "Good afternoon brother. Not playing nurse I see? Won't Simon be disappointed?" came the smooth lyrics from behind him. "I missed you too, Jay." he grinned tiredly, turning around. Hayden pulled Jay into one of his specialty bear hugs. Jay, at first, hadn't liked it. But now he found them comforting. "Come on, we'll go to a table." Jay announced, pulling his brother to his feet and dragging him to a table in the far corner. "You can tell me about just how awful that damn Connor is." Jay hadn't really ever liked Connor, he annoyed him deeply. But Simon had grown on the male, he valued him as not only a friend now but even a brother. It was odd for Jay, but he didn't mind. Although he hadn't gone to see Simon when he had the accident, he'd text or call Hayden daily for updates.
The brothers were chatting away in no time. Jay was telling Hayden about one student be believed had a crush on him. Jay wouldn't name names, but Hayden knew that Jay would never act on it. He was too devoted to Spencer. "How are you and lover boy?" Hayden teased, to which Jay just rolled his eyes. Some things just never changed. "In all honesty, it feels great to have him back." Jay confirmed, a rare, genuine smile gracing his lips. Hayden was pleased for his brother, and the pair both leaned back on their chairs contently. This was what sibling relationships were supposed to be like. Both brothers were glad that they had settled their differences long ago. Jay's face suddenly turned serious once more. "How's it going to work with Connor in the picture again? I know you're tolerating him for Simon, but it's waring you out as much as the accident itself has. And what about that girlfriend of his? I haven't met her yet." Jay asked, concern marring his words. He had been saddened by the state Hayden was in, his withdrawn features and skinnier exterior. He looked unhealthier than Jay had when Spencer had the accident. "I honestly don't know. I can't just tell him to get up and leave," he saw that Jay was going to interrupt and knew what was coming. A smile rose to his lips. "Neither can you Jay. I have to make it work for Simon's sake, I don't want to be the bad guy. He just knows how to get under my skin. Oh, his girlfriend is lovely. How he managed to get her I have no idea." he chuckled. The pair of them sounded like gossiping women. Oh well, it felt good to Hayden to have gotten it off his chest. Nobody else would understand. The male took the first sip of his drink, and then began to gulp it down when he realized how thirsty he really was. "That's better." he sighed, placing the almost empty glass down. Jay had been watching him through narrowed eyes. "When was the last time you ate?" he asked suddenly, causing Hayden to look down sheepishly. Jay growled. "Properly? Three or four days ago." Hayden revealed quietly. That was enough for Jay. He got up and went to the bar to order food for his brother. No wonder he looked so ill. All Hayden could do was sit back and wait, 'Mother' Jay was now around to look after him. A dry chuckle left him at that.

Cause when it's all for one it's one for all. When there's someone that should knowThen just let your feelings showAnd make it all for one and all for love. Simon had taken his first tentative steps only a day ago, but after not being able to walk for so long had left him eager for more. Now, after much convincing, had managed to be discharged from the hospital. With strict instructions. No alcohol. No fatty or greasy foods. No strenuous exercise except physio. And most of all, no riding. Simon was eager to get up on Vic again, and had managed to at least get Connor to visit the horse. Missy loved the gelding, and joined Simon in ganging up on Con. The car itself was full of laughter, and joy. It was nearly Christmas, and Simon needed to get something extra special for Hayden. He felt Hayden deserved it. A pair of crutches as well as a wheelchair were in the back seat. Simon preferred the crutches. He winced slightly as he moved, his ribs throbbing slightly. The expression didn't go unnoticed and earned him a stern look from Connor. I'm fine, he insisted. Connor just humphed and stared ahead on the road. Wait! Simon said, and Connor braked suddenly. Alarmed expressions were on Connor's and Missy's face. Hayden's car, he said simply. Connor parked the car in the spot in front of the bar.
Simon gave a grateful nod to his brother. I'll wait in the car, Connor said, I don't want to sour the evening, he added with a smile. He enjoyed the effect he had on Hayden and Jay, but tonight he was thinking of Simon. Missy got out of the car along with Simon, handing him the crutches. Simon limped along, an occasional wince mixing in with the smile that framed his face. He still looked like a raccoon with the one blue eye, but he looked better than he did a few weeks ago.
Jay's here, he said, seeing the curly haired male at the bar. Looking for Hayden, Simon soon spotted him at a table not far from here. His speed increased slightly, but not too much. Every walking thing was a nuisance these days. Reaching the table he noticed how Hayden looked. His boyfriend was in bad shape, and a wash of guilt came over Simon. It was his fault that Hayden looked like this. It was his fault that Hayden hadn't been looking after himself, and spent every minute he could at Simon's bedside. Oh Hayden, he said, sadness filling his voice. He couldn't take this any longer. Simon sat down with some difficulty, and just looked at Hayden with love in his eyes. Hey Hayden, Missy said in a friendly tone, and wondered if she should go back to the car.

Hayden spluttered a little when he looked up next. Coming towards him was Simon and Missy. "What on earth are you doing here? You should have called me if you were getting dismissed." he said, his oracles flashing with hurt momentarily. He'd heard the concern and sadness in Simon's voice when he addressed him, which made Hayden laugh. "Even when you can barely walk your looking after me. Don't worry about it, I have my own carer. And here he comes now." he chuckle, nodding his head toward Jay who was approaching with a hamburger. He placed down the food in front of Hayden and then took the seat beside Missy. He'd seen the pair walk in but hadn't acknowledged them. Simon wouldn't have stayed still long enough for him to. "How are you feeling Mr. Accident prone?" he asked Simon, a grin on his lips. He looked to Hayden briefly, glad to see he was tucking into the food, and then turned his attention back to the others. "I take it you're Missy. A pleasure to meet you, Hayden speaks very highly of you." he smiled warmly, and this time it was genuine. Hayden threw a fry at Jay. "Stop trying to make people uncomfortable." he warned, knowing exactly what question Jay would ask next. He warned his brother with his eyes, they flashed with a slight anger. Jay frowned. He picked up the fry and looked at it, before wrapping it up in a napkin placed on the table. "Okay, okay. I'll behave." he promised, sitting back in his chair. Hayden knew he was going to ask where Connor was, and if he knew Jay would go and wind him up. Hayden didn't need that right now.
"Shouldn't you be at the college resting, not sat in the pub where everything unhealthy is surrounding you?" Hayden accused Simon, ready to stand up and take him there himself. Jay had his eyes on Missy, question after question forming in his mind. "So, where did you meet Connor?" he asked, earning a glare from Hayden. "What? I'm genuinely interested." he grinned at his brother, earning another glare. Ignoring him, he turned back to Missy. She seemed like a genuinely nice girl, and Hayden was right. How on earth did Connor get her? Hit her over the head so she go amnesia and then convinced her they'd been dating all along. He gave a snort of laughter at that thought. Leaning back on his chair, he looked over the other three. Boredom struck his form, and the urge to go and hunt down Connor was growing. He decided he would, guessing he would be sat outside in the car. "Excuse me." he said, cutting off whatever was going on around them. "I shall be back momentarily." he announced. "Don't you dare Jay." Hayden hissed. Jay just chuckled and made his way toward the bathrooms. They were near the entrance, he could make it look like he was going there instead.
Hayden watched him for a while, and then sighed. "Sorry about him, Missy. He's a little.. well.. Yeah.." he trailed off, there was no real way to describe Jay. He suddenly wasn't hungry anymore and pushed his plate back a little. He'd eaten most of it. Looking at Simon, he smiled warmly. "We'll you're certainly looking better. How are you actually feeling though, no cover story or trying to be the macho man. Otherwise I can't play nurse." he chuckled, reaching over to hold Simon's hand. Jay, meanwhile, had been watching the three. They became absorbed in conversation once more, and he took this as his chance to slip out of the door. Pulling it tight behind him, he looked to the parking lot. Beside Hayden's vehicle was a car with a younger male sat in the front seat. "Bingo." he smirked, walking over to it. His knuckles rasped on the window, and he waited patiently for the window to come down. Once it had, he spoke again. "Not joining the celebrations?"

Cause when it's all for one it's one for all. When there's someone that should knowThen just let your feelings showAnd make it all for one and all for love. Simon merely smiled. I wanted it to be a surprise, he answered with a smile. I'm glad Jay is looking after you, he said with a smile again. Jay set the food in front of Hayden. Hey Jay. This is Missy, he introduced the female. Exchanging looks with her, it looked like she was about to break out in laughter. Something very common for her, specially when there was nothing funny in the situation. Well, Jay. I feel just about ready to ride in the World Equestrian Games, he said with a flourish and a grin. Truth was, he was exhausted, hungry and just needed to rest. Missy raised an eyebrow. Pleasure to meet you Jay. I've heard a lot about you too. From both of them, she said indicating Simon and the other twin.
With the direction of the conversation directed at her, Missy knew that the question would be coming. Well, we always competed against each other, but never really talked. Then one day, in London, we met in a bookshop and the rest they say is history, she said jokingly. She knew that not everybody liked Connor, and well, he was just. When Jay excused himself, she heard Hayden's words. He's like Connor in a way, she finished. Yup, Connor is definitely going to be happy about this, she added when she saw Jay slip out the front door. Not much escaped her.
Simon looked at Hayden. His smile slipped, and he knew that he would have to tell the truth. He rubbed his thumb against Hayden's finger, and looked him in the eyes. To be honest. I feel like a truck drove over me, followed by a herd of elephants and then some, he said in his Irish vocals.
Connor sat in the car a while. He had managed to catch a nap, something that he hadn't done in a while. The wrapping against the window snapped him out however, and when he rolled down the window, he saw that it was Jay. Oh good Lord, Jay. Not today. Any other day I'll really love to comply with having a battle of wits, but just not today, he said in a tired voice.

Hayden grinned at Simon's reply to his accusation. And when he offered his greetings to Jay. Hayden watched over his brother closely though. He knew the signs, and the more fidgity Jay got, he knew it wouldn't take long for him to go find Connor. He didn't admit it aloud, but he kinda hope Jay would. He seemed to be the only one who could get under Connor's skin so well. Scowling at his thoughts, he realized he was just as bad as Jay. The conversation had quickly turned to Missy, but Hayden still kept his oracles trained on his brother. He could see the disinterest, and all but had to force himself to keep the smirk off his features. Jay was unbelievable at times. And then his brother was gone. Without even looking up, he knew where his brother was going. Hayden chuckled at Missy's statement. "Don't let him hear you say that." he grinned, and the second sentence he nodded the affirmative. Many things that Jay did didn't have a positive effect.
His attention was snapped back to Simon, concern marring his worn out features. "Come on, we've gotta get you back to the college." It pained him not to offer up his own apartment for Simon to stay in, but he knew Connor would protest and ultimately win as Hayden just didn't have the energy. Standing, he looked at Missy and then back to Simon. "C'mon, it's gonna take us a while to get you out of here." he teased, helping Simon up out of the chair. Hayden knew he'd have to take it a lot slower if he didn't want to see the Jay/Connor confrontation that was undoubtedly already going on. He looked at Missy, hoping she'd understand not to rush. He didn't want to upset Simon anymore, and Jay defending Hayden would certainly do that.
Jay narrowed his eyes at Connor. Mr. Nice (ish) guy had definitely evaporated. "You know what? If this didn't include my brother, I would. But it does, and you're single handedly making his life hell. If you hadn't have come back, He and Simon would be fine. Yeah, the accident would have probably still occurred, but I could have helped them through it. At least I have the common decency to accept your brother, whom I have grown to adore. You, on the other hand, go around treating mine like s**t. I don't take kindly to that Connor." His vocals were dripping venom, his hazel oracles held a protective fire that only occurred when talking about Hayden. "And that girlfriend of yours, you really do not deserve. What on earth did you do to her to make her want to date you? Has she got skeletons in the closet she's willing to do anything to keep hidden?" he chuckled evilly. He knew how to get under this boy's skin, and he threw that in for kicks. He knew he would get a reaction now, and couldn't wait.

Cause when it's all for one it's one for all. When there's someone that should knowThen just let your feelings showAnd make it all for one and all for love. Simon glanced at Hayden seeing the concern crossing his face. He really wanted to just say that he could just stay over at Hayden's. It would be closer, and if he was the one to suggest it then Connor could have no say in it.It's not gonna take that long, he said jokingly, but another flash of pain crossed his face. Missy caught the look and just nodded. Simon didn't need to see the confrontation, and Connor was already in a bad enough mood and Jay was not going to make it easier for them. Y'know. I could always just stay with you for the night Hayden. That is if you don't mind, he said. He had missed the silent interaction between the two. Missy knew one way to stall the exit. Just hold up. I'm gonna order some take aways quickly before we go, she said brightly, and made her way to the counter to get the food. Hopefully it would take enough time.
Connor glanced at Jay. Somehow this one always managed to get under his skin, and he didn't need it on a night like this. Specially not on a night like this. He rubbed his temples and got out of the car. He closed his eyes while listening to Jay's tirade. No facial expression crossed his face, but a reply came to mind almost immediately. My brother, my twin, the one I share every emotion and feeling with, was in a coma and you expect me to stay away? I know I may not show it, but I have accepted your brother. And where were you when Simon was in the hospital? Not much support from your side I should say. You want to know why I wasn't in there this evening? he said before carrying on his tirade. His eyes flashed in anger. It's because Simon's step-father is back. I'm sure Hayden has told you all about what that man has done to Simon. He was in the hospital the day Simon woke up, and I saw him a few times since I've been back. Nothing can be done about him, because he hasn't done anything. All I can do is be a watchdog, but I'm considering it more and more to just let Simon stay with Hayden for the time being, he partly ended his tirade. There was one more thing to face. Jay's comment's about Missy. Jay just needed a punch in the face, but he was just going to restrain himself. He wasn't going to do what he felt like doing. I will appreciate if you leave SJ out of this, he said finally.
The trio walked out the Movie Magic just in time for Simon to hear the last part of Connor's tirade. His eyes grew wide in fear, and knew that he wasn't dreaming of the malicious face the day he woke up. His step father was really back in town, and out to get him. His breathing came in short gasps, and he panicked. Simon breathe! came the order from Missy as she entered his view. Slowly he stopped gasping for air, and calmed down. Now there were five of them, and he found Hayden's hand to hold.
