Bella was awash with anger. For once she was not in the mood to be faced by anyone. She had managed to dodge Alexi, and Kian...Kian better not mess with her today. She was on the point of murder, and she really wanted to take her feelings out on Kian. He was in actual fact the root of her anger. She knew that he was leaving. Leaving in little more than a week. She still didn't know why, but she had a feeling that it would be the last time she saw him. If anything, she wasn't blaming herself, but if the idiotic caveman pride of his would not get in the way, then she might have actually known what was going on. With her father's connections, she could try and help him. That is if he wanted help. Bella wasn't getting the feeling from him that he wanted to leave, but who knew. For Shakespeare's sake! she shouted at nothing in particular.
Bella was making her way towards the rehab center. She was working with a Friesian gelding that she had named Glenn and in the few months that she had him, she realised that he was perfect company in her moods. She still couldn't believe how the black horse had changed. He had filled out nicely, his scars had healed, and he had begun to trust her. Only time though would heal his fear of dogs. Samson had nearly been kicked when the dog somehow managed escape the dorms and run after Bella. Glenn had freaked out, and the payment had nearly been Samson's life. Animals, she thought, a wry smile crossing her features.
Standing by the paddock, Bella whistled softly, and watched as Glenn decided to come. He still didn't seem to trust her fully, but in the end decided to come towards her. She rewarded him with a carrot and a rub on his forehead. Good boy she whispered fondly. Clicking for him to back up, she slipped between the bars of the paddock, and marveled at how Glenn followed her. She gave the horse a hug, and he stood long enough for her to inhale his horsey scent for a while. With a toss of his head, he indicated that the contact had been long enough for his liking.
Bella left the embrace, and went towards a large shaded area made by various trees. Her back was towards the path, so she wouldn't see anyone coming towards her. Her thoughts turned towards Kian, and already she felt the familiar longing for him. It came to her at the worst of times, and the thought of him leaving was just too much to bear. A choked sob escaped her, and she felt the wish to stop feeling the pain. It cloaked her, and was her constant shroud. Bella refused to think of what it would be like when Kian was gone.

A good mood? How rare. Kian had been in an excellent mood all week, probably due to the fact that he'd finally been able to act on his feelings for Bella. A slow smile pulled at his lips as he remembered that night, his mind deciding that it was time to go and find Bella. He had a feeling she'd been avoiding him, he hadn't been able to find her at all during the week. Usually it would had angered him, but he'd given her the space too. He knew how hard it was going to be when he left, but he truthfully had no choice in it. His father had told him a little more about why he was taking him away since he'd received the letter. Kian hated that he was going along with it, but he had no choice. He could either go willingly, or be dragged away. He'd rather leave with his dignity in check. A shudder ran along his spine as he thought of why he was exactly leaving. It even made him feel sick, but it had to be done. Or so his father thought.
He decided that he needed to find her. He paused mid stride and diverted himself toward Campbell Stables. Maybe she'd be there seeing to her horses. As he grew closer to the stables, his mood was changing somewhat. It wasn't anger, more frustration than anything. Why was Bella avoiding him anyway? He'd have thought, due to the fact that he was leaving so soon, they'd spend more time together. Scratch that, it wasn't frustration, it was actually anger. His expression fell blank, his gray oracles becoming unapproachable icy craters. As he passed other students, they all shrunk slowly away from him. He didn't bother acknowledging them. He made his over to the stalls which held Bella's horses. They were there, and she obviously was not. He didn't bother going toward the pastures, she wouldn't be there either. Nor the round pen or the arenas. His brow furrowed as he thought to where else she would be. As he tried to guess where, his anger built. He knew this meeting would be confrontational, just how much so?
He suddenly remembered something about a horse for a rescue class. Something like that anyway. He'd never been to the rehab stables on campus, he'd never needed to. He vaguely remembered being told that it was by the clinics, and headed off in that general direction. Slowly, careful not to go in the wrong direction, he made his way to the Rehab center. Peering inside, it was pretty obvious the place was empty. Just about to turn and leave, he spotted the pastures. Many had horses in them, some of them with students. He had no idea which one Bella worked with. He came to a halt, trying to remember if she'd told him. He honestly had no idea.
He picked up into a walk slowly again, peering into each pasture. Horses gave him a wary glance, not because he was threatening. He'd calmed down purposefully so not to alarm them. But obviously because they had underlining issues. They were also eying the two girls who were walking behind him apprehensively. Finally, a form he recognized came into view. She had her back to him, sat in a pasture with a handsome Friesian. His anger boiled, but he kept himself from storming up to her. He didn't want to worry the horse. Instead, he moved quietly. Separated only by the fence, he was now behind her. "Avoiding me Annabelle?" he questioned, venom hinting in his vocals. He used her full name, hoping to get a suitable reaction. As much as he loved her, he also loved to have a good argument with her. She was so easy to get a reaction out of. And, if they argued it out now, at least they'd have less to do before he actually did leave.

Bella prevented the tears from coming. She reminded herself that crying was not going to help in form confrontation or conversation that she might have. There was no point for her tears either. Pulling up her hoodie sleeves, she revealed the thin traces of scars from her past. Bella pulled her hair into a messy ponytail, and escaped into her thoughts. She knew that at some point Kian would find her, and then all hell would break loose. A confrontation seemed unavoidable at this point in time, but she hoped against all hope that it would not come to a fight. Deep down she knew that she would prefer Kian to just leave quietly with no fuss. That she would wake up one morning and then his room would be empty, and she would just know. Bella also knew that she would prefer this option if time wasn't against them. That she wouldn't want to spend every waking moment with Kian. A week was just too short. Too few days. Something that she could calculate the lost time on, and ignore it completely.
Glenn came up her again and sniffed the immobile female. He froze though, and his audits swiveled frantically. reaching out to touch the gelding's cheek, she heard the cold and furious voice of the one she had been trying to avoid. Her pulse quickened though, and an electric thrill went down her spine. Then there was the one thing that angered her. She hated anyone using her full name, and she would usually bite named person's head off if they did so. With this male however she wanted to kill him. Clone him and then kill his clones. Stupid caveman, she thought, before even her mind was defeated. But he's my caveman, and I can't live without him, she carried on thinking.
It hurt's too much to be with you. Knowing that you'll be gone too soon, she whispered. Getting up, she glared at Kian, making sure he got the point. Slipping through the bars, she grabbed Kian's wrist and dragged him away from Glenn. Heaven's knew that the gelding needed any more stress. Yes, I am avoiding you! Why wouldn't I?! I don't know why you are leaving! I have no clue when you are leaving! I don't even f*****g know if you are coming back! she shouted the questions and statements. She was riled up enough to swear.
Do you even comprehend that you might actually have a choice in leaving!? 'Cause to me it sure doesn't! It looks like you actually want to go! she carried on, her anger finding it's outlet. She breathed deeply and rubbed her temples. For the first time in a month her headaches have returned, and it caused her to see spots in her vision. Bella focussed on Kian and his cold grey eyes. They usually had so much spirit, but for once Bella couldn't see anything. They looked like she felt. Absolutely defeated.

He tilted his head in confusion as she whispered. Wasn't that all the more reason to spend time with him? She rose, his oracles never wavered from her. When she glared at him, a smirk pulled at his lips. It was an automatic response, he actually hadn't meant to do it. Subconsciously though, he knew it made her madder when he did that. She'd smacked him last time, and she wasn't exactly angry on that occasion. Who knows what she'd end up doing to him now. Wising up, he wiped the smirk off his face and followed her with no resistance as she tugged him away from the horse. This action made him certain that this encounter wasn't going to be a pleasant one. She didn't want them to make the horse stressed out obviously. His posture and expression turned defensive as they stopped, ready for confrontation. Again, another instinctive reaction.
As she shouted, he remained silent. Still his oracles hadn't wavered from her, but he was aware they were darkening considerably as she continued to speak. His teeth ground together in frustration, it was taking every ounce of self restraint to not shout at her or lash out. The latter made him sick to the stomach, but at least he was preventing the action. Still, the thought was enough to make him disgusted with himself. He took a breath as if he were going to speak, but she wasn't finished. His mouth clattered shut once again as she continued, catching his cheek between them. He didn't wince, instead continued to bite down on it. The pain somewhat relieved his anger a little, but the relief was short lived when her words registered with him. Something inside him snapped, fire blazing in his usually cold eyes. As quickly as it had occurred though, he pushed it back down. With that sort of anger inside him, he knew he'd hurt her. As much as she was annoying him right now, he'd NEVER want to do that.
Taking a deep breath, he was finally calm enough to speak to her. Well, his tone was much sharper that he intended it to be, and there was still some of that awful venom snaking into his vocals. "I'm not telling you why I'm leaving because it's for you own safety! I barely know anything about it my self! And you know I'm leaving in a week, the exact time I'm not sure. He didn't really say. But i'd never go without saying goodbye to you before hand Bella. And dammit, of course i'll try come back!" he hoped that she didn't pick up on the try, it was more likely to make her even more angry. His expression hardened again as he addressed her last words. "Of course I don't have a bloody choice!! If I did, do you think i'd be going back there when my best friend is here? When my only father figure is here? When the girl i'm head over heels in love with is here? I f*****g wish I had a choice, because life would be a whole damn lot easier! But, we all have to do things we don't want to. I'm an expert in that." His tone was dangerous now, he had moved toward her so that his face was inches from hers.
He took two steps away from her, knowing if he stayed much closer he wouldn't be able to control himself. Half of him wanted to pull her into an embrace and kiss her like his life depended on it. In some ways, it did. But the other half, the more prominent one, wanted to hurt her. Not physically, well not much, but mentally. He blamed her for the emotions he was feeling. He hated that every time he had to leave her, his heart sank painfully. He wanted to be around her all the time. He'd never felt like this before, and it made him feel weak. He hated being weak. He wanted to punish her for that. His teeth began to grind steadily as he looked at her, the fire ablaze once again. Damn her for making him feel like this! Damn her for making him feel awful for leaving! Bella thrown into the equation just made everything so bloody complicated. "F*****g women." he hissed quietly, kind of hoping she heard.

Bella watched Kian. His grey oracles gave away his anger and for the first time she felt innerly scared of him. She didn't show it though, but kept a watchful eye on him. Was this what it was going to come to? A relationship based on fear and as many hurtful words as possible. It wasn't what she was looking for, but she couldn't separate herself from Kian. In such a short time he had become her whole world, and for once she knew that she loved him. Her own words held enough pain and anger to make Kian retort in the same way, but why was he so quiet?
In those few moments of silence, her anger simmered down enough for her breathe and realise what was going on. The throbbing increased slightly, and Bella knew that if she didn't calm down soon then the pain would be near unbearable. She forgot to mention the headaches to Kian. They didn't pop up when he was around, and they weren't important. She bit down slightly on her cheek, hoping that it would cancel out the pain.
Just as he kept his silence during her tirade, she respectfully did the same. A million different replies sped through her mind, each one threatening to pop out. Each one made their mark, a sharp needle pricking into her heart, and each one stayed there. If anything, she deserved it and bought it upon herself. Bella refused to cower though, and kept her ground. Like hell she was going to be intimidated. Inside though, she was retreating in fear of the man she loved. Then there was the word she hated, and she rose in anger.
Kian finished, and now it was her turn. He stepped away from her, and Bella felt this crazy sense to wrap her arms around him, and comfort him. She didn't want to let him go, and she never wanted to see him gone. It was just too bad that he was going. Who knew? Maybe she would also go. Never come back, except Dafydd still had that blasted pocket knife of hers. Her expression darkened. Bella considered her words carefully. She wouldn't shout, just talk loud enough for him to hear, and to get her point across. I've been faced with death so many times, and you don't want to tell me. Do you want to know how many times I nearly died? Seven Kian. Seven. This wouldn't be so bad. Trust me. Try? Yeah, I've heard that before. My parents tried, and now they're getting a divorce. Andrew tried to swerve out. Alexi tries every damn day of his life to see what we do. Try doesn't work so well. she breathed deeply. Calm was working well so far.
I love you too Kian. That's why I don't want to lose you, she said. Bella stepped up to him, and cupped his face in her hands. She forced him to look into her eyes, knowing that every unsaid word could be seen her eyes. Not the bad ones. Just those that she knew time would be to little to say. You're not the monster you make yourself out to be my love. You're crazy, but I love you like that. You've made mistakes, but so have I. Everyone has. If you have to go, then go. I'll wait, but only as long as I have in the College. After that, then I'm gone, she said in finality.
