Bella clicked to the horse, encouraging him to move, and not just drag his hind legs. The dun gelding was energetic enough, but was refusing to work in the round pen. It was frustrating to get Flame to move, and even Bella was becoming despondent. She had woken up in a bad mood for some reason, the common one being her regular headaches that had dissiapted some what since she had been in England. Trot! she called to the horse. Flame flicked his ear in her direction, and returned to a walk. She flicked the lunge whip, earning a kick in her general direction. She did it again, and Flame picked up a reluctant trot.
Once again he wasn't engaging his hind legs, but Bella just wanted him to be active in his paces. She smooched towards him, and then like a new horse he picked up the pace. Good boy, she crooned softly, and a smile slid into place. It was good knowing that they were finally getting somewhere, and Flame was a young horse, but he was smart, and he picked up the small things easily. If things went well, she would enter him in a few showing classes at the next show, in-hand of course, just for him to get the exposure.
Whoa! she called again, and Flame slowed down to a walk. Turning him towards her, Bella made a fuss of the horse, letting Flame know that he was doing a good job. Bella then let him out on the circle again, this time in the opposite direction, and once again he was refusing to do as she asked. Your are as bad as some of the mare's in this place! she scolded the horse lovingly. Or as some of the students in this place, she added in her mind, the first one springing to mind being Kian. A scowl flashed upon her features at the mere thought of him. Oh he annoyed her to no degree, and sometimes she was more than willing to wring his neck.

Kian wandered aimlessly. He was still refusing to go to lessons, and was having to fill his spare time with random things. Usually, he had no problem finding something to do. But today he was struggling. He found himself in the barns, making his way over to Lady, Ieuan's Arabian mare. The youngster was inside as she was lame, and Kian had promised to check up on her while Ieuan was in class. Sadly, he'd done it three times already. When she rose her head, he saw that the novelty of him being around had worn off. None the less, the mare nickered softly and reached out to press her muzzle into his bicep. Chuckling softly, he ran his hand down the length of her face. "I know, I know. I'm getting annoying, aren't I? I'm just so bored." he told her in a gentle tone, a tone you wouldn't think Kian could use. Truthfully, it only showed around horses. Lady soon got disinterested with his attention, and withdrew herself to the back of her stall, her limp less pronounced than this morning. Pausing to text this to Ieuan, he then picked up into a walk and out toward the pastures. Maybe he could go bug Laurence and Maddie some more.
Both horses completely ignored him, obviously having enough of his presence when he was around a little less than an hour ago. He couldn't hold back the snort of laughter, which earned him a disapproving look from Laurence. Maddie simply ignored him some more. Pulling a face at the Arabian gelding, who pinned his audits, Kian left the fence and walked onwards. The toe of his shoe scuffed the ground as he walked, his pace reluctant and fed up. He was debating whether or not to go into town, but Ieuan had made him promise to go with him later. Kian had agreed, but only because it was his best friend. He wouldn't have done it for another person. He pondered that thought briefly, they then strayed to Bella. He debated whether he would wait for her. And then shook his head. Of course he wouldn't. He'd already made it his mission to annoy her as much as possible. He then wondered if she'd ask him in the first place. It seemed highly unlikely. Chuckling quietly, he continued on his walk, whistling softly as he did so.
He neared the round pen, the only place he hadn't visited today already, and smirked when he heard familiar vocals. Rounding the corner, she came into view just in time for him to catch the scowl on her pretty face. He'd been on the receiving end of that scowl many times before, and a comment sure to annoy her sprang to mind. "Thinking about me again Bella? I know I'm irresistible, but you've gotta get over this crush you have on me." He smirked, locking his eyes on hers. He knew that there wasn't any sort of romantic relationship between them, though he wouldn't mind if there was, but he still used every opportunity to wind her up about it. He let his own eyes trail her body, wolf whistling to add to her annoyance. "Though, I may let you have a little kiss." he taunted, knowing how to press her buttons already. Pulling his eyes away from her, they went to the equine that was inside the pen with her. His expression turned to appraising, impressed by the handsome brute. He'd met Manor before, her other horse, but not this one. He also knew she had another horse he hadn't met. He didn't question anything about the horse, knowing Bella would most probably had a few insults to throw his way before she was reasonable to talk to.

Bella' scowl just deepened when she heard the too familiar voice. She glared at him, listening to the comment he made. Take a long walk off a short pier Kian, she said in strained vocals. With the new arrival, Flame lost interest in working and wandered over towards the male. Bella gave it up as a lost cause, and gathered the lunge line as she walked towards the pair. Deciding not to let her annoyance show, she relaxed her features, and gave him a less than happy smile. The day that hell freezes over, she answered him again. Not that she wouldn't mind kissing him, but he was bad news and she knew it. Kian did intrigue her though, and she knew that somewhere there was a good side to him that needed to be uncovered.
Her classes were thankfully only later, but if she wasn't mistaken, then Kian was supposed to be in the main building. So is there any specific reason your're not in class? she asked, knowing that he would no. Flame snuffled Kian looking for treats, and not finding any, flung his head into the air, and tried to bite Bella. Knock it off! she scolded the youngster, and flicked him on the muzzle. She was bored now, but it seemed that Kian wanted conversation.
Bella was in a bad mood and the one person who could make it worse had appeared. Then again, depending about what they talked about, could make it better. Who knows, maybe she would even give him a true smile, and not the sarcastic filled ones that he was usually a receiver of. Thinking about it made her feel bad, knowing that she shouldn't treat someone based on their friends, but of all people he had to know, it had to be Ieuan. Bella was also never going to admit the bad feelings she had about her treatment of him, knowing that Kian would most likely spend any spare minute gloating about it. And I thought he wasn't so bad, she thought, resisting the urge to snort aloud.
