Two sleepy equines were led from the trailer carefully, their large audits flickering with acute interest. They had arrive two hours earlier than they were supposed to, 7am instead of 9am. The driver didn't bother to call the Friesian mares' owner to tell her that her horses had arrived. He decided it would be a pleasant surprise for her, he knew the girl needed it. Chuckling softly as Ama, the calmer of the pair, snuffled the back of his head as he led her into the stall, he then directed his son toward the stall which would hold Marica, who was tiredly battling with the boy. Then managed to wrestle the reluctant mare inside, and close the door swiftly after her. She instantly settled once inside, obviously too tired to play up too much. The men checked over the pair before bidding them, and the groom that had also helped bring them inside, goodbye. Turning, they made their way leisurely out toward the horse box and were soon on their way home.
Her nose twitched as she felt slight discomfort coming from it, and then her hand swiped at it lazily. Her fingertips came in contact with a fluffy mass, causing her oracles to fly open in surprise. A cheeky little face stared back at her, teeth now leaving the nose and her tongue lolling out of her mouth which gave the impression that she was grinning. "Annuska, I swear to god that if you escape again, I will have you locked in the cupboard." she murmured sleepily, scooping up the mischievous pup as she sat up. The female wriggled in excitement, and then began to lash her tongue over Clary's chin, causing her mistress to giggle childishly. It was a sound so rarely heard, but thankfully to her three new babies, it was making a much more regular appearance. She cast a glance over to the cage where the puppies were SUPPOSED to sleep, and was glad to see that the boys were still inside. Annuska had developed the ability to let herself out though, and often managed to climb onto Clary's bed to wake her up. Planting a soft kiss on the youngsters cranium, she stood and then stretched. It was 8am, time to get ready to go to the barn. A shudder of excitement rocked her body. "Marica and Amaltheia will be here soon!" she exclaimed, causing the other puppies to arise and yawn sleepily. Little did she know that the mares were already in their stalls.
The three puppies were now having their breakfast. Clary took this time to go for a shower. The warmth loosened the tight muscles she'd worked up yesterday. Though it was only her second day, after her meeting with the Vice Principal, she'd spent the day at the sports center after settling in. It was already her second home, she'd never been in a center so equipped for almost any sport. It was like her own personal heaven. Naturally, her limbs had protested to her painful battering so now they were having their own little payback. Before she stepped out of the warmth, she changed the temperature to freezing cold to wake herself up properly. When she barely flinched, it became obvious that she was doing this too often for it to have an appropriate effect. "Guess it's time to find another wake up method." she murmured to herself, drying herself off and then wrapping her hair in the towel. Dressing in a light blue t-shirt, which was immediately covered by a dark gray hoodie, paired with black jodhpurs. Once dressed, she took the towel from her hair and then plugged in the blow dryer. Even though it was getting warmer, there was no doubt that it was still to cold to go out with damp hair.
She vacated the bathroom to see the puppies already back in their cage. The puppy pad, she saw, had been used and it was time to put a new one down. At least she wouldn't have to worry about rounding them up. Closing the cage door silently so not to disturb them, she collected up their bowls and put them away. Checking the time, a grin pulled at her lips. 8:45am. 15 minutes until they were due to arrive. Just enough time to check the stables before they did. Slipping her feet into her paddock boots, she left the room silently and jogged swiftly from Ashton Halls and out into the open. She kept up the pace as she made her way to Campbell stables, making it look no effort what so ever. To her, it wasn't. Letting herself into the yard, she checked the list which told her which stalls were Amaltheia's and Marica's. When she found out which ones were for her mares, she picked up into a walk once again and headed toward them.
Boy, did she get the fright of her life when she peered into the stall that was supposed to be empty but actually held Ama. Gasping in surprise, which alerted the serene mare of her owners' presence. Her oracles lit up and she shuffled to the front of the stall. Her maw reached out to tenderly brush over Clary's features, and Clary grinned. "You're a bit early. Do I even have to ask if you behaved? The question is, did madame." she chuckled, casting a glance into the neighbouring stall. Marica glared back at her, snorting in defiance. Clary bit back laughter, knowing it would anger the mare more, and gave Ama one last pat and a kiss on her muzzle. The mare didn't look at all offended as Clary moved on, just went to finish off her breakfast which still had half of it left. Ama had a habit of dividing up her food. Clary came to a stop in front of Marica's stall, and the glaring battle commenced.
Marica was the first to break the stare, and then her lips latched onto the shoulder of her hoodie. Clary was forgiven. "It was only two days Marica, it wasn't like I left you for a year." she chuckled softly, scratching the area under her forelock. The mare nickered softly, and then decided that Clary should groom her. Yanking on Clary's hoodie and then gesturing with an elaborate toss of her head toward the grooming kit outside the stall, Marcia then snorted excitedly. Clary rolled her eyes and then picked up the head collar that had also been left outside, slipping it on the broad cranium of the mare. Leading her out of the stall and tying her up outside, Clary then began to run the curry comb carefully over Marica's already spotless pelt. She just loved the attention.

Alexi was always known as an early riser. He never had a tendency to sleep late, so nothing would be different about this day. His motions were quiet as he stepped carefully around the room. Grabbing a towel, he headed towards the showers. He took his time, knowing that for someone up at six-forty five, if he woke anyone else up then he wouldn't be the most popular person. He allowed the hot water to relax him, help him release the pent up tension in his muscles. He tried to ban the memories of him and Bella fighting, but every few minutes another one of her words would come through. In times like these, he needed his horses. Towel drying his hair, he grabbed a pair of breeches and a shirt. He really didn't care what he was wearing, as he pulled a Harvard branded hoodie over his head. He put on his oldest pair of paddock boots, and a set of chaps. Casey was all ready to set out, the only thing Alexi had to was put on the harness.
His pace was fast, his intentions unknown. For someone who couldn't see, Alexi moved well enough, and he did know his way around by now. A swimmer by design, he was spending daily sessions in the pool. Some days it would be up to three hours, others even more. There was really nothing that he enjoyed more than swimming, apart from riding and making music. His muscles weren't protesting anymore to the punishment that he sometimes put them through, but he could still feel the stiffness in his one shoulder. Reaching the stables, he heard a familiar whinny. Thankfully it placed him in the direction of Cody, and Alexi made his way to the Arab gelding.
With an affectionate pat, Alexi let himself into the stall. He settled himself into a corner. There were a few birds singing a sweet melody in the far distance. In other stables horses were just waking up and demanding their breakfast. Pushing his sunglasses onto the bridge of his nose, Alexi greeted the groom, before meditating on Cody's crunching and chewing. Feeling in his hoodie pocket, he pulled out a phone that obeyed voice commands. Hearing the time, he was surprised to find it after eight already. His shower must have taken ages.
Alexi also found a pleasant surprise in the form of his harmonica. Not caring in the slightest about who heard him, he started playing Billy Joel' Piano Man. He heard every little pitch, but above the music he heard tired shuffling in the stall next to Cody's. For the last week, that stall had been empty, which meant that somebody new had arrived in the last day. Not that he cared.
Changing tunes, this time something of his own creation, he carried on playing. The music always had a soothing effect on Cody, though calm, seemed to have some underlying tension. Like his owner, thought Alexi. Pausing, he heard footsteps and a female voice. The accent was foreign, not American or British. It was not like his own that had traces of Greek in it. Unable to place it, he wondered if she would speak further, but to no avail. He resumed playing, the melody going from calm, to an upbeat one with traces of his Greek heritage. If there was one thing that he had to do in his summer holidays, it had been going to Greece for every year, for a month since he was nine.
His curiosity bugged him. He wanted to know who this girl was, and if he was unable to see her, he could try associate her vocals with some kind of image. "speech"

Ama's large audits flickered with interest as the music started up in the stall beside her. She tilted her broad cranium in confusion, pulling herself up to her full height. She had been slouched a little in her relaxed state. A soft snort sounded from her nares as she shuffled around to peer into the neighbouring stall. Her soft brown oracles looked over the horse inside, her expression almost like amusement. It was as if she was telling herself "Well, it's obviously not him.." Her eyes continued to scan the stall before they fell upon a human male in the corner of the stable. Ever the friendly mare, she gave another snort in greeting. As the music continued to sound from the weird contraption held to the boys mouth, her audits flickered again. The urge she felt to investigate the object was overwhelming, and it was obvious that she was getting frustrated that she couldn't. A sigh left her briefly, before she looked over her shoulder where Marica was starting to play up again.
Outside the stall, a sigh rumbled quietly from her chest. It was one of contentment, Marica was enjoying having all attention focussed on her. She loved it when Clary pampered her, and she was getting just what she wanted. Suddenly, annoyance coloured her expression. What was that annoying sound? Her audits pinned back briefly, and then flickered forward once again. She spun around suddenly, causing Clary to hiss in frustration. Marica ignored her. Her frame lunged toward the stall beside Ama, thankfully being stopped by her lead rope. Her hoof began to mercilessly attack the ground, causing her mistress to growl angrily. Marica turned again and glared at her owner accusingly, as if she was making the noise. Her maw slammed into Clary's shoulder and shoved her backwards. Tugging on her lead rope again, Clary knew she had to do something to stop the mare. She untied the lead rope and dragged the mare back into her stall, which wasn't exactly what Marica was aiming for, and shoved the door closed after her.
Clary straightened herself up and took a deep breath. The music hadn't been annoying her personally, but the disruption was enough to sent Marica into one of her fits. Her feet dragged toward the stall where the music was coming from, her mood souring effectively. She didn't know why, but the defensive mask fell over her. Ama looked over her stall door as Clary passed, nickering affectionately. The girls fingers slid over the mares muzzle gently and then she sucked in a deep breath. Her feet continued toward the next stall and she spun to face it. Anger etched across her features, and her green oracles swept over the stall. At first she didn't see him. He was half shrouded by the gelding in there with him. But then her eyes fell on him. The first thing she noticed was the sun glasses. Sunglasses? In this weather? she thought, her brow raising disbelievingly. It didn't occur to her that they may be for another issue. She let it slide though, especially when Marica's distressed shuffling caught her attention once again.
"Excuse me." she called just loud enough. Her tone was tinged with anger as well as discomfort. She wasn't used to communicating with others. At her old school, most people skirted around her unless they were dared to make her temper flare. And of course, her father denied her companionships out of school. Her oracles automatically clamped shut when she spoke again. "Do you mind stopping that? My mare isn't your number one fan." she gave a half laugh, trying to ebb away the tension she was feeling. Opening her eyes again, she averted them to look at the horse in the stall. Her accent still rang with true Hungarian tones, unaffected by all the moves she had participated in. No other accent seemed to work its way into it. She pursed her lips as she awaited him to answer her, her foot subconsciously beginning to tap impatiently. Yeah, patience was definitely something she didn't do well.

Cody shuffled in his stall, and hearing his neighbors make such a racket turned to his owner for comfort. Alexi heard the commotion quite well, but chose to ignore it. He honestly didn't care, all that mattered to him was playing, and being around his horse. Then thoughts of Bella entered his mind, and his own mood grew from bad to worse. Well, bugger her. If she was going to be like this, then he wasn't going to bother anymore. He adjusted his seat slightly, and carried on playing. Then he heard the steps outside the stall, and waited. His music paused, and waited for the person to something.
When she did, he noticed the vocals were the same as earlier. Already his mood was soured, when she spoke further. Was it such an issue for him to find peace and quiet. Was it so impossible? All he did to acknowledge the female's presence was cock his head in greeting. Self-restraint was hard to come by for him lately. "I'm sorry. I didn't realise," he said in slightly forced tones. He heard Cody make his way to the newcomer, and blow a greeting, but he also something more. "And can you please stop tapping your foot. It's a tad annoying," he carried on.
He had taken off Casey's harness when he entered the stall, and the dog was quite eager to meet the newcomer. No harness meant that he could socialise, so there was really nothing that he could do to stop the dog from bounding up to the door. "The dog is Casey, horse is Cody, and I'm Alexi," he said, realizing that he hadn't introduced himself yet. Alexi slipped the offending musical instrument into his hoodie pocket, a silent sign that he wasn't going to carry on playing, but he would have liked to, even if was just to annoy the female.
