Kristin paced the room, a picture frame in her hands. She was trying to find the spot for it, but nothing would come. There were still a few boxes left to unpack, and being bored had made Kris unpack the boxes before the weekend. She hadn't processed the jet lag yet, so she wasn't tired. It was late afternoon, and Daydd was still to come. She did have instructions not to do anything to strenuous, but it wasn't like she had been lifting boxes and doing anything dangerous. She had also been craving the strangest combinations, from gherkins with vanilla ice cream, to salt and vinegar crisps with tuna mayonaisse.
Kris wasn't in the mood to go down to the cafeteria, and she didn't want to bother Dafydd. The fridge was stocked, once again due to her boredom, but she was trying to find ways to alleviate her boredom. Books helped, but recently she had found her mind wondering to life in a few months when her child, their child, would be born. Instinctively she reached down, and cradled her stomach. It would still be a while before a baby bump was formed, but she could feel the changes to her body. Her jeans didn't fit her as well as they used, in fact they were a little tight, but that didn't bother her. It was an excuse to go clothes shopping.
Leaving the picture frame on a desk, Kristin went to the kitchen and proceeded to take out ice cream and fruit. She proceeded to peel the apples and make something that looked like fruit salad. She would make dinner when Dafydd was home. It was easier like that.

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - He'd managed to come up with an excuse to pass up on a meeting to go and see Andy. The emaciated gelding was worrying him deeply, but he'd improved since arriving at the college. Dafydd knew he had Remii Locke to thank for that. As he entered the yard, he saw the young female slipping out of the stall. He rose his hand in greeting, which she returned with a smile. The girl was now at ease around him again, he'd gained her trust when he'd been the principal of Blue Ridge. It had taken her a week to once again realize he wasn't going to hurt her. "How is he today?" he asked quietly, reaching the girl quickly. Remii surprised him with a bright smile. "He finished all of his feed just now. And he also let me pick his hooves." she told him softly, pride dancing in her oracles. Dafydd returned her smile with his own happy grin, walking closer to the stall door. Andy peered back at him, the flat, dead look that was usually there replaced by humble happiness. This made Dafydd's smile increase. He didn't enter the stall though, he knew it made the chestnut gelding nervous. Turning back to the girl, who was returning with a head collar and lead rope, he looked at her questioningly. "I'm going to walk him around the yard for a bit, maybe along to the pastures. He needs a little exercise." she told him. He nodded, then wondered if he had time to accompany them. Looking down at his watch, he knew he didn't. He hadn't seen Kristin all day, and didn't actually want to be on the wrong side of her. Hormonal women freaked him out. He found that he was smiling brightly as he thought though, aware that he couldn't wait to get back to his beautiful girlfriend. The mother to be of his children. "Okay Remii, I will be back down later to check on him, so you don't have to worry about the midnight check. I'll do that one." he told the girl, turning to leave when she nodded.
As he walked to Dakota Halls, he reflected on the day. The morning had been devoted to Kian, the male was still refusing to go into any classes. Try as he might, Dafydd still could not persuade him to go. This was really starting to wear him out. The Ieuan had been hauled into his office, while his partner in crime was still sat there, in trouble for skipping all his classes for the past three days. The 'meeting' had ended in shouting, both boys were sent away and he had no doubt they'd just gone into town for the remainder of the day. He's learnt that Kian was getting close to another student Dafydd felt personally responsible for. He mentally reminded himself to get Bella into his office tomorrow to catch up with her, and make sure that Kian hadn't got his hands on her yet. Dafydd's brow creased with worry as he thought of that, knowing that he wasn't over exaggerating what Kian was like. He wished he was. With a deep sigh, he moved on to what he'd done after the confrontation with his nephew and co. He'd had various students in for equally various incidents. Fighting, no homework for days/weeks/months, mouthing off their teachers. It had been a long day. He hadn't been able to face another long hour in a meeting, so had made up and excuse, of which he couldn't remember now, and had been able to go and see Andy. Now he was going home for the evening, which would hopefully be relaxed. He'd be back out tonight, checking on Andy and no doubt back to his office as he would have undoubtedly forgotten something. He chuckled softly, pushing open the door to the halls and immediately began to ascend the stairs.
He let himself into the room, immediately having two dogs bound toward the door. He hadn't allowed them to come with him today, knowing that he'd been going to the yard and that Andy didn't like the dogs. Icey looked at him accusingly, but Cedar was just happy to see his owner. Giving both affectionate pats, he then continued further into the room. He caught sight of Kristin in the kitchen, his smile increasing to beaming. He walked over to her, immediately slipping his arm around her waist. He didn't pull her away from what she was doing, just looked over her shoulder. "How was your day?" he asked softly, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. He watched her face intently, his attention completely undivided. He never realized how much he missed her during the day until he was back in her company again.

Kris had the company of four dogs, two that followed her around everywhere and then Dafydd's two that were slightly unhappy at being left behind. Even now, Luna and Jax were in the kitchen while Icey and Cedar were somewhere in the living room. There were many moments in the course of the day that the dogs had 'helped' to unpack, and it had been interesting. While cutting up various other fruits, Kris heard the door open, and the rush of dogs. A smile tugged at her lips, knowing that Dafydd was home. It was good knowing that he was back, and that she would have someone to talk to.
She felt him wrap his arm around her, but he didn't pull her away. Thankful, scooped the ice cream into the fruit bowel, and answered the question. Bored as heck, she said truthfully, a grin on her features. I've unpacking the whole day, and it's the only way to keep busy, she added, knowing that she was either in for an earful, or silent acceptance.
And yours? she asked, knowing that there would be a lot to say. She was just thankful that the hormones hadn't really set in yet, but in a month or two and it would be a scary sight. Even when she couldn't find a place to hang the picture of the grey stallion that had been in the accident, Kris felt the need to shed a few tears that did not come with remembering the accident. She had controlled herself, and kept it in, and was happy now that Dafydd was here. What do you want for dinner? she asked, knowing that she would have something to keep her busy a little while longer.
