   Jemma had been spending her Saturday morning working in the vet barn. It was pretty devoid of patients, but there was still enough to do. While she worked, she had toyed with the idea of having her mare, DJ, bred to a local stallion, possibly a College one. She knew that soon she would have Ever's foal to work with, and that it was a lot of work, but DJ had so much going for her as a western horse. She knew that her new mare was also going to take up her time, as the Quarter Horse was going to have a lot of work to get that trust built up. Jemma would how ever first speak to Matt about the pros and cons before jumping into a hasty decision.
Pausing by the one of the more spacious stalls, Jemma looked inside. The occupant was of course Misty, a mare that had broken her leg about a month before and was still strung up with a sling. The mustang swung herself towards Jemma and gave a happy whinny. Hey pretty girlJemma crooned. Slipping inside, she offered the mare a carrot, which Misty lipped up gracefully. Daily workouts in the therapy pool also helped the mare's recovery, and Jemma wondered how long the mare would still be strung up. I bet you can't wait to be running again she said softly, and as the light caught her hands, her small diamond sparkled.
So far the wedding plans had been going smoothly. A date had been set, and guest lists were being compiled. Jemma now had a lot of respect for her late sister who had managed to organise her whole wedding while running the finances, a separate business and various other things. Jemma just had six horses with a foal on the way and she was feeling the strain. There were few faculty that she could trust at the College, but working alongside the vet had been a fun experience. Just now to tell people about the wedding, she said quietly to Misty, who flicked her ears forward and gave another trumpeting whinny.
