PERSONALITY:
Hayden has a very laid back nature and takes everything in his stride, except riding. When he's not riding, things never seem to bother him. He always has a goofy smile on his face and is open for anyone to talk to. He adores people, and trusts everyone which is sometimes a down fall. He has had people take advantage of his kind nature before, but he doesn't learn.
He appears to be stupid sometimes, but he's really not. Intelligent, with the help of studying, the dopey look on his face most of the time makes him appear to be lacking in the brains department. He doesn't care if people call him stupid, he just laughs it off and corrects them. He doesn't seem to notice how embarrassed people get when he does.
Hayden is a genuinely kind and tolerant person. He will make time for anyone who needs help and will always offer his support or just a shoulder to cry on. He makes a good friend and is very loyal to those who are close to him. He likes to have a large group of friends, he feels the more the merrier.
Hay is a bit of a music fanatic, always singing and dancing and listening to the new artists. He always has an iPod on him and listens to all sorts of music. He has his favorites, yet believes the variety is a good thing. Even if you don't want to hear it, he will make you listen to a new song he has discovered or a new band he's becoming obsessed with.
Hayden is the romantic type, yet not many people know he is gay. Some of the boys around where he lives resented him when they found out. As he is a cowboy, they felt he was putting them to shame. Cowboy's are meant to be tough, not sissies. But, he isn't. Many ask him to make sure, as nobody can ever been 100% certain about his sexuality. When he does gain a boyfriend, he showers them with love an attention, and falls hard. He could spend every minute with them, yet so many break his heart.
BACKGROUND:
Pre Blue Ridge
Hayden was a result of an affair. He has known this since he turned five, two years later his father died. He wasn't to bothered, he barely saw him anyway. He has also always known that he has a half-brother, born the year after himself. Hayden has always wanted to meet his half brother, begging his mother almost every day. Now he is old enough to leave home to start a new life at the Academy where his brother has been for almost a year.
Hayden started to ride when he turned eight, his grandfather teaching him. Although he doesn't really look like it, Hayden is a cowboy. He rides purely pleasure and has done since he learned. He has tried English, yet it didn't feel right to him. His riding skills are at an advanced level, yet he doesn't think so. He is always trying to improve, always thinking he can do better.
Hayden has known he was gay since he was fourteen, his relationships have been few and far between. One he had been involved in had lasted two years, before a painful break up. Since then he has had three brief relationships which haven't turned out so well either.
School has been good to Hayden, never been bullied, but nobody has felt the need too. He has a charismatic air to him that can't help but make people like him. His grades are good, but could be better. He excels at sporty activities, math and history. He does well in the sciences and English. The only thing he has never done well in are computer classes, he just doesn't get on with electronics.
His relationships with his family have always been strong, especially with his grandfather. His grandfather was the first to accept him when he reveled that he was gay, even taking him in when his mother was a little surprised at the revelation and kicked out the boy. His grandmother had died when he was twelve, she had had cancer. Of course, his father had died. But, as said before, he didn't have much to do with him. He sort of resented him for having an affair with his mother, breaking her heart when he went back to his wife.
Hayden has always been around animals, his mother was a huge horse and dog lover. She had inherited this off her father. This meant that Hayden grew up around dogs, and not the small dainty Jack Russell's or Yorkshire terriers, the big Mastiff's, Cattle dogs, Great Danes and Irish Wolf Hounds. This caused him to be a big dog lover too, and obviously means he has an array of canine friends to bring to the academy, as well as two horses.
At Blue Ridge
At Blue Ridge, Hayden took to it like a duck to water. He found Jay and after a rocky start they were the best of friends. Hayden also found the love of his life. Simon Greene became his most favorite person. They stayed together right through the year that Hayden was there and then Hayden went back to Australia for two years.
Post Blue Ridge
Over the two years being in Australia, he studied to be a mechanic. He sold all of his horses as he didn't have the time and threw himself into work. He raised a lot of money, and kept in touch with Simon over the years. When he heard that Jay was going to the same college as Simon, he had to go. So off he moved with his four canines (The three that were at the academy with him and also one of Cookie's pup's) and Jay and his herd. He can't wait to start working in England and also being close to Simon is an absolute bonus.
