The black truck drove slowly up the road. He had a full horse box that was slightly weighed down by the fact that he had a Clydesdale in the box. Following behind was the moving truck, and Alan sighed. He had a fair amount of boxes to unpack and rooms to do. He would leave Shannon's until she came for the weekend, but he had to do Jake and Emily's for them. They were only coming for Christmas, but he would like to have had their rooms refurbished by then. Two of his three dogs were sleeping on the back seat, and the puppy was on his lap, sleeping soundly.

Alan turned into the driveway and waited for the truck draw to a stop. He opened the door and two sleepy figures left the truck. The white bundle of fluff he kept in his arms. He walked up to the driver with a smile. Just put the boxes where the label says. Put the bedroom boxes in anyone of the rooms, he said with a lilting Scottish accent. Next he went to the trailer and opened the ramp. Eager whinnies greeted him. Alan put Lucy in the truck. Bobby and Spot had woken up properly by now and were standing with wagging tails by the trailer. The first horses out were Mist and Star. The two were firm buddies and would share a paddock. They would also be stabled nest to each other.

The stable building was made of red brick and faced the paddocks. There was an outdoor arena as well. In the first stall would be Mist. Next to her would be Star. Then Tux and Rhyme. The stalls had already been fixed and the tack room cleaned. The feeding bins were in place. The only thing that still needed to be placed was the blanket racks. Spot and Bobby gamboled around them. Going back for Rhyme and Tux, Alan noticed the scenery for the first time. It was absolutely breathtaking, and he would enjoy living here.
