Maria smiled as the massive horse truck she had hired pulled up outside their new house. A good-sized detached house stood in the center of the plot of land, two quaint little brick stables to the right, and a paddock to the left. Adjoining the stables were a small tack room and a hay store. From when she had viewed the house a month ago, she knew there were further paddocks out the back. Turning the key, the truck fell silent immediately, but the quiet didn't last. "Are we here, are we here?" instantly chimed Cinna's voice from the seat beside. Amber, on the other side of Cinna, grimaced gently. In her opinion, the house looked nice enough but it was the stables she was more interested in. She spoke up in her quiet lilt, Mum, can we get Cassie and Charlie out?" Nodding at her daughter's request, she chuckled as the twins instantly left the cab. "Wait for me girls, you need me to lower the back." Maria shook her head in disbelief, the excitement wouldn't last, not with school starting tomorrow. But she was pleased the girls were taking so well to the move, uprooting them had caused her many a sleepless night.
Once the back ramp was down on the box, the non-identical twins went and showered the seemingly identical ponies with love. Cinna led Charlie, the 12hh Welsh A gelding out of the box first, pausing when she reached the bottom to wait for her sister. A moment later, Amber appeared at the top of the ramp, the lead rope in her hand attached to Cassie, the 12hh Welsh A mare. "Put them in the paddock at the side of the house girls, then you can sort their stables out, okay?" A brief grin flashed to her lips as Cinna raced off, her gelding trotting alongside her. Cassie simply snorted as though she couldn't understand why they were rushing, making the little girl giggle. Albeit a sound she could listen to all day, Maria busied herself with unloading the stuff which needed to go in the tack room. She had deliberately hired a horse box much too large to carry just the two little ponies, the truck contained all of the family's belongings.
Pony stuff safely stored in the tack room, Maria just reached the box again when Cinna flew up to her, closely followed by Amber. "Mum, what can we do now?" The words, of course, came in an excited tone from Cinna. "Well, have you girls decided if you want to share a bedroom or not? Amber, which do you want?" Asking Amber didn't make much difference, the shyer of the twins simply turned slightly to face her sister. Can we share, please, please, please? It wouldn't feel right having our own rooms, and Amber would get scared." "Hey enough of that please Cinna, don't tease your sister. So you want to share? Okay, lets head into the house and check out what bedroom you want. The biggest bedroom is up in the attic, do you want that one?" Both girls nodded earnestly before they charged off into the house to check out their new bedroom. With a slight sigh, Maria turned around as she heard footsteps approaching her.
