*I'll watch the night turn light-blue But it's not the same without you~ Pour me a heavy dose of A T M O S P H E R E* Alan drove into the parking lot. It was opening time, but first he would have to find a place to put the kittens. They had been left on his front step and he had discovered them this morning. A quick phone call to his daughter had confirmed that she would take one and Alan decided to keep two. So that would be 7 out of the 10 that needed homes. The window was the perfect place to put a sign, but these kits were still young and needed constant care and attention. Alan merely shook his head. Why would any one abandoned these small kittens was anyone's guess. Soon they would be up, and mewling like crazy.
The box itself was heavy, but these kittens were fast asleep. Struggling to open the room door, and take the box was a challenge, but behind the counter is where he would keep them for the time being while he readied a spot in the animal display area. A poster that he created said: Kittens to good homes only. 4 females and 3 females. Approx. 1.5 months old. Enquire inside. Once he was finished with that he moved the seven into a large area. It wasn't a cage as it was open at the top and the surrounding was made out of glass. He put down blankets and some saucers of milk.
His own three consisted of one ginger male, a tortishell female and Shannon had said she wanted a tabby. The mornings were usually quiet, but soon the shop was filled with the sounds of meowing cats. All Alan could do was laugh, and play with them on the floor.

It seemed that walking through the town of Park had become the favourite past-time of this young adult. It had been a couple of days since her doctor appointment and that was still spinning around her head. And then there was all of the work she had piled upon herself at college, if it hadn't been for the fact that she sat so many college courses while in high school, she would never be able to handle the workload and the equestrian side of things. However, at Park she was only studying a couple of small courses on dance and art.
As she walked past the saddlery - come pet store, a sign in the window caught her eye, pausing mid-step she read the poster. She chewed her lower lip, wondering if she had enough time to add caring for a kitten on top of everything else and through her head flashed the small kitten she had found all those years ago in Blue Ridge - said kitten had grown up and then run away once she had left high school and was placed into a... home. With a shrug, she pushed the door open and walked inside. A smile brightened her face as she was greeted by the sound of meowing.
Walking over to the case where the kittens were, the sound was an easy indication of where to find them. She looked over the edge and reaching over, she tickled the stomach of one of the kittens that had crashed against the wall and rolled over.
The little creature was mainly tabby - the stripes gave that away - but there was some obvious tortoiseshell in her as well, which was evident from the odd tan flecks throughout her silver and black coat. "Your claws are a little sharp." She told the feline as the tiny queen grabbed hold of the girl's wrist with all four paws, digging her claws in. She managed to detract the kitten's paws from around her arm and gently picked the feline up. One hand around the kitten's back so that her finger and thumb supported the animal's front legs and the head and neck were protected by the web of her hand. The other hand supported the rest of the kitten's weight as she looked the animal over. She had clean eyes and seemed a good weight, the vet training was coming out as she assessed the animal's health and wellbeing.
