Cara drove into town and pulled into a parking space outside Hooves and Tails. She needed a few things for Risk now that the class had officially started. Walking into the store, she gave the woman behind the counter a respectful nod before she picked up a basket and walked over to the salt licks and toys. The first things she placed in the basket was a purple Snak-a-ball, she hoped that she could entice Risk to push it around and then learn that it offers her a reward. Next she placed a purple Likit Boredom Breaker into the basket, this she would hang from the tree in the mare's yard and from it the mare would get her much needed salt and vitamins. She then headed over to the grooming kits and placed a raspberry and navy Bentley Slip Not grooming kit - only because she didn't like the purple range of brushes. She then headed over to the halter and leads. After looking through each one, she selected a purple rope halter and lead. Carrying her basket to the counter, she scooped up a rhino trug, which would be perfect as a feed bin for the mare while she got used to being given feed, as it was shallow enough that the pony wouldn't think she was sticking her head into something nasty, but it was also wide enough around the diameter that Risk wouldn't think she was going to get stuck either - two of the most common problems that occur with feeding from a bucket.

Harry's truck stuttered slightly as it reached the parking area outside the town's tack store. He had a couple of reasons for coming, one to spend some money and the other to try and earn some! Magick and her foal had been living off borrowed equipment since he had brought the pair from the auction, but now he wanted to get them some of their own. And Sunny would need stuff too, just in case of infection, he shouldn't really share equipment from the rescue horse. He sighed gently, that would nearly use up all his money, and Casey could do with some new stuff too, she hadn't had any since the already second hand stuff he had got when she first came into his possession a little over three years ago. But that lack of money was his other reason for coming, a couple of part-time jobs were available in town and the only one that would hold any interest for him would be working at Hooves and Tails. After all, he had no money coming in now, no helpful family to send him some money to live off each week. It might decrease the time he had, but he was more likely to shave that time off of doing homework than time with his little herd anyway. As he entered the store he glanced around, a row of saddles catching his eye. Knowing he couldn't afford any, he wandered over to take a look regardless. Magick would want a saddle soon, her foal could be weaned soon and Harry had no intention of putting her in foal again! Shaking his head, he made his way over to where the headcollars and leadropes were. The boy had brought the Friesian cross Arab mare a headcollar at the auction, but there hadn't been one to fit her foal. His hands gently shifted through the halters, until he found a white adjustable nylon headcollar designed for foals. He could just afford the price, and he selected a plain white rope to go with it. For Sunny, the colors would be black and dark green he decided, would set off the palomino coat beautifully. A dark green headcollar and two tone black/dark green rope were added to his basket. Next was rugs, the expensive part! Sunny would most likely be staying indoors most of the time for a while yet, so he just picked up a lightweight Bucas turnout rug - black - for the gelding. Magick needed a turnout rug too, and the foal needed a turnout and a stable rug. A slight frown marred his features, this was turning out to be a rather expensive trip. Harry's eyes searched over the rugs, grasping a light blue Masta Aztex in the mare's size. Finding a rug to fit the little filly was proving harder though, although after a minute or two a Weatherbeeta Jasper bright blue stable rug caught his attention, hiding at the back of the rugs. Just one more rug to find! As he pulled out the tiny stable rug, another rug came with it. To Harry's amazement it was another Weatherbeeta rug, but this one - the same color - was a turnout rug. A smile played on the corners of his lips, pleased with his finds. As he headed across the room to find some grooming brushes, he noticed Cara heading towards the counter. Switching his direction he headed over to her, telling himself firmly that now was as good a time as any to ask her about the natural remedies that could help Sunny, and maybe she would have a few suggestions for the boisterous filly too. Managing to hold a note in the same hand as the basket, the pen scrawled the words across the piece of note paper, Hi Cara, hope you don't mind me asking, but I was wondering if you had any ideas of what remedies might be helpful for Sunny?. Shoving the pen back in his pocket, he transferred the note to his free hand as he reached the counter. Smiling, his head tilted down slightly to see the smaller girl's face as he held the note out loosely between his thumb and finger. ooc: Magick's turnout Clicky, her filly's stable rug clicky and turnout clicky.Sunny's turnout clicky

Cara stopped walking as she heard the sound of another person approahcing her. She forced herself to breath, reminding herself that she was now an adult, and she turned around. A ghost of a smile touched her lips when she looked up and saw Harry. She took the note from his outstretched hand and read through it. She chewed on her bottom lips as she thought about the gelding. "Walnut, Rock Rose and Rescue remedies. I can help you put together an aromatic spray to put in his stall to help him relax." She looked at him again. "Don't use Valerian, no matter what. It is a great relaxant, but has so many things that can go wrong, and is also a banned drug in the sportsworld of horses." She thought about the palomino gelding again. "He would probably like lots of green vegetables too, they are high in vitamins and minerals. Oh, and garlic. It helps with worms, but also helps keep the incests at bay as it excretes through the skin."
Thinking of all of this made her think about the herbs she was planning to offer to Risk. She hoped that the pony didn't turn her nose up at them.

Harry was pleased to see the echo of a smile on Cara's face, it wasn't something he thought anybody saw often, but now that was when she suddenly seemed to look like an adult. His eyes flicked between the girl's face and around the store, she had read the note and seemed to be thinking now. There was no sign of anyone who worked here, so his full attention went to Cara. As she started speaking he wondered if he should be writing notes, the wealth of information in her head on this subject was amazing. Instead the boy nodded and made mental notes instead, he still had those remedies left over from when he had purchased them for Casey. The information about Valerian interested him, he knew of it being used as a sedative in people and horses, but had never really looked into it. It might be useful to find out what long term effects it could have, knowing things like that could come in useful when you never expect it! Garlic and green vegetables too, they were easy to get. Harry knew this store sold garlic, and if he couldn't beg some greens off the cafeteria staff then the grocery store would sell them. His smile showed his delight at new ways he could help Sunny, and he scribbled his thanks They all sound great, thanks. Maybe you could give me a hand making a spray in class?
As no staff seemed to be around - perhaps they were in the store room he thought quickly - he headed over to the grooming equipment once Cara had answered. Harry's hands sifted through the trays of each type of brush, picking out a blue and a green of each type. Grabbing a hoofpick and mane comb of each color too, he paused, unsure if he should get the tray box or a close-able kit box. A sigh escaped his lips, the tray was cheaper so that would have to be it. Picking up one of each, his basket was now on the rather heavy side, even for the naturally-muscled frame of the boy. Making his way to the counter for a second time, he placed the basket on the side and retrieved a couple of things from his pockets. His wallet, and a pen and paper to question if the store was looking for some part time staff. The boy spent a couple of minutes brushing the horse hair from his top and neatly writing a note, Hi, I'm Harry. I was wondering if you were looking for any part-time staff? Thanks.

Cara read the noted and nodded. "Sure I can. If Risk were in a stall I'd make some for her too." She shrugged, wondering how long it would take her to get through to the mare without things backfiring and her seeming pushy - though that would never happen as she would let the Highland Pony control the speed and length of their sessions together. She followed Harry over to the grooming equipment. She browsed through the hoof picks until she found a blue metal hoof pick. She wasn't too keen on the stability of the Bentley hoof picks - to the point that she'd has one snap in half while being used - and the metal ones had always been reliable and they were small and skinny enough to be able to tuck into a saddle bag or pocket at the last possible moment. She adjusted the weight of the basket on her arm and made sure that it wasn't pushing into her stomach, and after another quick glance around the grooming things again she picked up a purple jelly scrubber before heading over to the counter where Harry was already waiting to be served.
