Cara was in town because she was supposed to be going to the hospital for one of her check-ups. She wasn't happy that she had to do them, she was furious that someone at the hospital in New York had had the audacity to say that she was anorexic and thus start her in a programme, which had done nothing more than lengthen the time she'd been stuck within those white walls. Why did hospitals have to have white walls anyway? White was a colour of purity, it wasn't even technically a colour! They should paint hospital walls blue or yellow. She was an elite gymnast, it wasn't her fault that even at the age if 18 she had the body of a 9 year old child. So what if she hadn't yet hit puberty? Puberty caused changes, and they were changes she didn't want.
However, she wasn't anywhere near the hospital. Currently she was walking past the town's Livery Yard.
She clenched her fists a couple of time to help settle her already erratic heartbeat to a less frantic one. With a shrug, she walked onto the yard. She wanted to have a look around, try and centre herself before she made her way to the hospital. She had driven into town, she just parked miles away from the medical building so it would take longer to get there. She didn't have an appointment time to keep, persay, so she had all the time she wanted.
She walked past the horse, offering each of them a gentle word. She hoped that she wouldn't get in trouble for trespassing as she really didn't have any right to be here, but she was working on the fact that it was also a public riding school so she should be alright. She stopped at the door of a stall that housed a cob. "Hey, handsome." She whispered as she rubbed his nose and looked at his open and honest expression. "I bet you get used for all the beginners?" She tipped her head to the side as she studied his face without staring at him, a smile tugged at her lips as she took in the cheeky dip in his chin. "You could also give a very experienced rider a run for their money too."

Sandra hurried out of the house, the last mouthful of her salad lunch still in her mouth as she went through the back door. Swallowing it down, she walked across to the yard where a few of the horses were indoors. The riding school ponies were all in, Cozzie, Blue and Donna. While the weather was ok, the three went out during the night time, in case there were lessons to be done during the day. Most of the livery horses were turned out, as were her two mares. A few steps away from the yard gate, the woman noticed a teenager stood with Cozzie. Perhaps not the most beautiful horse, he managed to hold on to a certain cuteness. "Hello, I'm Sandra, is there anything I can do to help you? Cozzie is lovely isn't he? She spoke with a smile, her tone slightly questioning, but not accusative. The girl seemed at home around the horses, she probably went to the college. She rubbed the cob's face as she finished speaking, her eyes on the horse rather than the girl.

Cara was concentrating on the horse so much that she didn't hear the approach of a person and flinched when a woman spoke - she learned years ago that jumping around horses just caused them to spaz out. "Pleasure to meet you, Ma'am." She said, her eyes on the ground as she dropped a curtsy more out of habit than need. "I am called Cara." She returned her attention to the pony beside her who the woman was now patting. She was trying to think of an excuse as to why she was here, but her inability to lie stopped her from being able to say anything. "I was walking past. I hope you don't mind. He is a very honest... um... lovey animal." She could have rolled her eyes at herself for that slip up, she normally keep her analysis to herself. It was another of her many... gifts that she kept to herself.
She had what felt like a hundred horses to take care of at the college, but she wondered if getting a part-time job would be out of the question. She could even ask if she could bring Missy with her some days so that the pony could get interaction with other horses. She shook her head to remove the thoughts. She had never been, nor would she ever be, one to stuck herself out there. She just didn't have it in her to ask if there was a job going. Anyway, who would hire a pint-sized teen to work with horses?

One of Sandra's eyebrows raised slightly at the extreme politeness of the girl in front of her, although it reminded her faintly of herself at that age. Determined to reach perfection and never putting a foot out of line. She smiled as her attention returned to the teen. Nice to meet you too Cara. No, that's okay, it's nice to see people around the yard. He is very honest, Cozzie. Always gets lumped with the beginners though. Bluey tends to as well. She gestured towards the small pony who was trying to push her nose over the top of the stable door. Sandra hadn't yet got round to getting a smaller door so she could see out. The ponies both needed some exercise, that was why she had come outside. Neither were booked for a lesson today. You are always welcome to come and help out if you want to. I'm actually looking for a part-time groom, if you were interested... Her voice trailed off, she could use a rider for Bluey, the mare was normally just lunged at the moment - Sandra was much too tall for the little pony. Not that Sandra rode anyway. Do you ride? If you want to, and have the time, you can ride Bluey in a while, her and Cozzie need some work. There's meant to be a pony arriving first though. She smiled briefly towards the girl, she had a good feeling that she would be great to have around the yard, having only seen her interacting with Cozzie, Sandra already thought the girl had a talent around the beautiful creatures.

SHE WAS YOUNG BUT NOT NAÏVE always wise beyond her years - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
They had just dropped Caroline off at the police station. Chloe had her nose pressed against the window as she waved to her grandmother. David tooted his horn and then continued on their way. Behind their land rover was a horse box, which was actually hidden by the pure mass of seven dogs blocking the back window. Lewis had his front paws hanging over the back seat, looking for encouragement, which he got in the form of a nod from his master, to jump into the back seats. The chocolate lab immediately plonked down beside Chloe, his cranium resting on her shoulder as he looked at her adoringly. David heard the young girl's gleeful chuckle and laughed along when he saw that Lewis had fallen onto his side and the girl was now tickling his stomach affectionately. Next over the back seat, and then straight into the front was Henry. No other dog would have gotten away with that, but Henry was a favorite. David leaned over to pat the canine affectionately, and then turned his attention back to the road. The other canines were still in the boot, thankfully. Oh wait, he spoke too soon. There came Cariad. The Golden Retriever seemed immensely proud of herself that David couldn't make himself tell her to get back. Rolling his oracles, he turned the vehicle toward the road that would take them to the Livery yard where they were to drop of Bramble.
Chloe was still making a fuss of the both dogs sharing the back seats with her when they arrived at the yard. David wasn't starting work at the hospital until tomorrow, so he had the day to spend at the yard with Chloe and Bramble, of course Henry and Lewis would follow them out too. As well as Cariad it seemed. He hoped the owner wouldn't mind too much, but seven dogs in a car for a long time was a recipe for disaster. Four would be fine. Opening the door, he climbed out and Henry followed. The going to the back, he let out Cariad and Lewis, who were closely followed by Chloe. The three sat obediently waiting for orders. These three were probably the best to have with him actually. "Come on Clo, lets go tell the woman we have arrived." The young girl nodded and slipped her hand into her grandfathers. The three dogs trailed behind them, staying close but looking around ever so often. The entered the yard to see a woman and a younger looking girl stood outside the stable of a cob type gelding. He smiled warmly, a smile he used with everyone. "Good afternoon folks. David and Chloe Thomas, bringing Bramble to her new home?" he queried in his thick Welsh accent. All three dogs peered around to see who their master was talking too, and all wagged their tails in greeting. Chloe piped up this time. "Hope you don't mind these three, they don't cause any trouble. It's Sonny and Nos you wanna watch." she informed the woman and the girl. David chuckled, knowing they would have no idea who both Sonny or Nos were. He looked at the older woman, knowing she would be the owner as he had spoken to her on the phone not long ago, waiting to be informed where Brambles stall was so that he could get her from the horse box and into the stall.

Cara nodded as she assumptions about the piebald cob were confirmed, she wasn't that surprised either. She followed the woman's gaze down to a stall where a pink muzzle was visible, a hint of a smile tugged at her lips as she watched the stall's resident try and get her head over the door.
Her eyes widened as she looked at Sandra again as she spoke, it was almost like the woman had read her mind. "That is very kind of you Ma'am, thank you." She said.
She turned at the sound of other people approaching. She'd got over her hesitation around dogs, but big canines still made her weary. She shot the young girl a smile as the man with her spoke.
When all was quiet again, Cara turned back to Sandra. "If I may take a rain-cheque on riding Bluey, there is an appointment I really mustn't put off any longer." heaven forbid she didn't show up and get in trouble. "Ma'am, Sir, Miss." With a respectful bow of her head to each - including young Chloe - she made her departure.

Sandra smiled once again at the way the girl spoke. It was almost too composed. If the girl wasn't looking at her, she would have shaken her head in disbelief. The woman simply nodded at Cara's response, unsure what exactly she was thanking her for. As the girl bid her goodbyes, Sandra spoke to her just before she left, Sure Cara, please come back whenever you wish to.
She turned her attention to the new arrivals, listening first to the male and then the young girl. Bramble's owner, she nodded to herself, a stable was already prepared. "Hi David, hiya Chloe. Welcome to Rhodanne Farm. Bramble's stable is Stable D, there is already a bed down and a bucket of water, but you will need to put some hay up." As she paused she turned to smile at the girl, Chloe. "Ah okay. Are either of these three Sunny or Nos? A grin spread over her face, she got the impression the girl would be a delight to have around. Speaking to the pair she offered them a choice, "Now, I can show you round the yard, introduce you to the residents and help you settle Bramble in, or I can leave you to investigate yourself? She chuckled lightly as she finished speaking, dealing with people was an important yet often overlooked part of her job, and she actually quite enjoyed it.

David smiled slightly as the girl who'd just left, as did Chloe who liked the fact that the girl had acknowledged her. After the girl had departed, all attention was turned on them it seemed. He retained the information that Bramble was in stable D, and that they wouldn't have to do anything today. As the woman addressed Chloe, he took the chance to survey the yard. Chloe's attention stayed with the woman, and she gave an exasperated roll of her oracles when the woman questioned if Nos or Sonny were either of the three with her. Taking a deep breath, she launched into the list of her seven canine friends. "No, no, no. This is Henry, Lewis and Cariad." pointing at each in turn, all three perked their audits when they heard their names. "Nos and Sonny are in the car with Melyn and Calon." she informed the woman, her oracles questioning the womans sanity, as if she should have known that already. David gave a burst of laughter and intervened before Chloe got more exasperated. "Sorry about my granddaughters rudeness. It's been a long day, she isn't usually like this." He told Sandra, ruffling Chloe's hair affectionately. She now had a sweet smile upon her face, her earlier distaste now evaporated.
Listening as Sandra went on, he looked to Chloe who was looking back up at him. "Whatcha think Clo, A tour from the owner or getting lost around every turn?" he asked the girl, who chuckled at her grandfathers way of putting it. She pondered it for a while, before coming to a conclusion. "Sandra, can you give us a tour? Plus, I want you to meet Bramble."
she told the woman, before tugging on David's hand and making him follow to the horse box. Casting a glance back a Sandra, he shrugged and gestured her to follow. At the horse box, they could hear the little mare's impatient pawing at the rubber matting in the box. David released his hand from Chloe and reached up to open the hind door. Lowering it to rest against the ground, he nodded his head at the go ahead for Chloe to enter. She did so, and not five minutes later emerged with the cute Welsh pony she owned. Grinning at Sandra, she set herself up to make the introductions. "Sandra, this is Bramble. She is twelve years old and a Welsh Pony, section A. Bramble, this is Sandra. She owns your new home." She informed the pair. Bramble just flickered her audit disinterestedly, her oracles locked on Henry. Henry and Bramble were the worst of enemies. The black Labrador had a way of winding up the gray mare better than anything had before. David rolled his oracles and patted the small mares back, then closing up the horse box. After he had done this, he turned to Sandra. "Lead the way."[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - status , complete word count , 482tagged , Lottii outfit , coming soon lyrics , by nick jonas himself—rose garden credit , goes to MEELA ! of CAUTION 2.0! for the template and photo. Sandra grinned and held her hands up, admitting her mistake to the younger girl. "Ah okay, I get it now. You must have a lot of fun with seven dogs!" She chuckled as David interjected. "It's fine, I remember when Lily was at that age. I needed a good chuckle anyway," she finished her response with a smile. The pair seemed like a lot of fun, and that was always a wonderful thing to have on a yard. She was fed up of stud farms with snooty, stuck-up owners. Give her the little kid with her granddad and fluffy pony any day!
"Sure thing, you can come and see the horses after we have sorted Bramble. We don't have very many at the moment, only five or six." Sandra followed them out of the yard back to the parking area next to her own house, where she could see their truck. More dogs were sprawled across the front, and she ran her eyes over them. Labs and Goldies seemed like his thing, with several of each. Around the back of the truck David was lowering the ramp, and Chloe disappearing inside like a bullet. A slight 'Awhh' sound escaped Sandra's lips at the next scene, the little girl and her beautiful, cute pony at the top of the ramp. "Nice to meet you Bramble, how do you do?" Sandra spoke seriously, which would probably earn her a strange look from the male. At the instruction from David, she rubbed the pony's forehead once, and then beckoned to the young girl. She held the gate open for the pony to come through, and then headed over to stable D. Sliding back the bolt, she swung the door open loosely. "Now, this one is for you Mr Bramble. Your next door neighbor will be Bluey, and I hope you get on with her, because she's the only other small pony we have! The woman grinned towards the girl as she finished speaking, and waited for her to settle the pony in before introducing her to the rest of the equines around the yard and paddocks, and showing them any important places, like the tack and feed room!
