PERSONALITY: Riley is a wonderfully natured gelding. He's very laid back and nothing ever fazes him. He can have anything done to him and will just stand there and take it, he really doesn't care what goes on. He's gentle and elegant in his movements, almost timid in the way he moves as he knows he's so big and wants to be careful around those he adores. He has an infatuation with buckets though, you'll often come into the yard to see him with his head hung over the stall door, bucket held tightly between his teeth. Luke has no idea why he loves them so much, but isn't one to begrudge the gelding of what he wants.
To ride, he's just as placid and laid back as he is in the stall. He likes a canter, but everything else just doesn't bother him. Since he's getting older and he's such a big horse, he's slowed down considerably and his joints have began stiffening up. Luke doesn't ride him as often as he used to, but every now and then they'll go out on the trails.
HISTORY: Riley and his brother, George, come from a family friend who sadly passed away a few years ago. Both were just family pets, who's dam had also resided with them. They both shared the same sire. Neither were put to strenuous work and since Riley is the younger of the pair, he's still fit to ride every now and then. Luke plans on keeping the pair until they pass away, he wants to retire the boys so they can enjoy their golden years.

PERSONALITY: George is a little more opinionated than his brother. He'll make it know if he doesn't like something and is very much the grumpy old man. He's lazy in his movements and doesn't like to be rushed, it takes him a while to do anything. But he has a lot of character, you cannot deny that. He's a little bit of a joker and will move things around so Luke cannot find them. He's also very intelligent and can open his own stall better than any horse Luke has ever seen. He's not a danger though and doesn't stray far when he escapes, just keeping to the yard or going to visit one of Luke's other horses.

He doesn't mind a bit, and still gallivants in the pastures with Luke's other horses from time to time. Other days he cannot be bothered and would rather stay inside.

AGE: 3
GENDER: Mare
COLOR: Palomino Overo
BREED: Mustang cross American Paint horse
HEIGHT: 15.3 HH
PERSONALITY: Valerie is that mare that is up for anything. Though she is still young, she's fearless in the way she approaches things. This also makes her feisty and very sure of herself. She believes she knows best, and will fight to prove herself right. She has a very expressive face, which amuses Luke no end. She is a very sweet mare though, and will look for attention. She adores Luke's other horses, but is boss, even if she is the youngest. She's quick minded but doesn't have the greatest attention span and gets frustrated easily. But when she does focus, she is excellent to work with.
She has not long been broken and Luke is still working with her. She's not going to be trained for anything specific, just pleasure. She so far is proving to be easy to ride, though she does get a little too excited at times. She's not a bucker though, nor a rearer. She'd rather go out for a ride than mess about, she really enjoys learning the new things that Luke is teaching her. It keeps her sharp mind occupied.
HISTORY: Valerie was an auction filly that Luke picked up just over a year and a half ago. The mare caught his eye with her feisty nature and her insistent whinnying at him every time he passed. He knew he had to have her. Since then he's broken her and started to teach her the basics. She's still very young, so he has a long way to go with her yet. She's already established herself as one of Luke's small herd.

BARN NAME: Jason
AGE: 6
GENDER: Gelding
COLOR: Light Bay
BREED: Thoroughbred
HEIGHT: 16.1 HH
PERSONALITY: Jason is a very lovely horse. He wants to be with you all of the time and falls over himself when you give him any sort of attention. He's very much a 'lap dog' toward Luke and will rest his head in his owner's lap when they are together in the stall and will follow him around everywhere. He will not stray from Luke's side for anyone, and never needs a head collar unless in the horse box while travelling. He, like his owner, is an insomniac so he very rarely sleeps. He still has the energy to do whatever is asked of him though, and keeps Luke company most nights. The pair really are inseparable and easily hold the strongest bond out of the four horses that Luke owns. Jason isn't the brightest crayon in the box though, and falls victim to Valerie's brilliant mind quite often. But the pair still adore one another and are always together while out in the pastures.
To ride, Jason is an absolute gentleman. He never plays up, he never has. He's not once refused a jump or ignored a command. He aims to please and has never let Luke down since he has owned him.
HISTORY: Jason was given to Luke by his mother five years ago as a birthday present. The young gelding came from a breeder in Scotland who didn't want him when he didn't show enough potential. Luke's mother knew that he'd be perfect for Luke though and bough him for her son. The pair have been inseparable since, and are often found together in the night due to both of their insomniac tenancies. Though Jason is usually used for pleasure by Luke, they will once in a while compete in show jumping. It's not very often and they don't usually place very high. Neither hate it nor love it.
