ETHNICITY: English
STUDENT OR STAFF: Staff, Sociology Teacher

PERSONALITY: Luke is very serious when it comes to his work, he's that teacher who will go the extra mile for his students to make sure that they pass. He's has a very likable air that surrounds him, and you cannot help but trust him when he's around you, Unless you get on the wrong side of him. He's a very good judge of character and very observant though, not much ever gets past him. He doesn't like lying, and he is very hard to lie to as he seems to see past it. This makes him a good teacher, students are unable to pull the wool over his eyes Not ever. But he's also not one to single someone out, he won't ever call a student on their bluff in front of his class, he'll do it in private and get to the bottom of why his student is lying to him, whether it be a trivial matter or something deeper. Student's appreciate this, and he's even had a few come back to him with their problems. At his past school, he'd often heard students comparing him to a big brother figure, something he treasured dearly.
The fact that he is still quite young doesn't show in his personality. His mother had always told him that he'd "Roamed this planet before", meaning that his soul had been around years before himself. He has to agree. His eyes hold wisdom that had been around for thousands of years, they can be quite intimidating at times as he seems to talk with his eyes. They darken to black when angered, and not almost black, completely black. When happy or excited, they becoming almost hazel in color and darken ever so slightly when he's up to no good. They seem to grow cold when he dislikes you, or your annoying him, and then warm when he does like you or is enjoying your company. They also look as if they are dazzling when he's really impressed by you or likes you "in that way.." All tell tale signs when you know him well enough. When not teaching, he's a very fun loving guy. People get annoyed by the fact that he can't keep still, he's also a very animated talker and uses his hands when he speaks, but they completely forget about that when he's making them all laugh. He's a natural comic, and can be a prankster when he wants to be. This is usually when he's drunk.
He makes a very good friend to those he trusts, but to those he doesn't, he makes an even better enemy. He's very defensive about those he likes, and has a sharp tongue that rarely makes an appearance, but when it does, you know about it. He's not scared to use his fists either. Though this is rare too, he got into a few physical fights at school after students found out about his past. Needless to say, they didn't tease him again. His eyes are also a chosen battle weapon, it looks as if he's staring into their soul which really freaks them out. He also always has bags under his eyes, due to his insomniac ways, which add's to the impression of danger. But when he smiles, the fact that he could be dangerous seems to wash away. He's very caring, and seems to get on with females better than males, probably due to the resentment he feels toward his father and the man that molested him as a youngster. He does have male friends though, and would never pass up on male company if he trusted them.
As mentioned before, Luke is an insomniac. He barely ever sleeps, and if he does it's for no more than two hours. He does take sleeping pills sometimes, but only when he's feel particularly down and really needs to sleep. He can sometimes be withdrawn because of it, but is usually very happy and upbeat. When he's extremely tired, the urge to keep moving increases too. He can be a little jumpy too, and doesn't like it when people sneak up on him in this state. He spends a lot of time in the barns in the nights, and can usually be seen drifting around. One of his horses also has insomniac tendencies, so he's never really alone. He does ride and has done for years, right after his parents divorce. It helped relax him and take his mind off things. Riding is one of the two things that are really keeping him sane currently. Well, more the horses than the riding. The other being teaching. Intelligent naturally, he had always wanted to be a teacher. More so after being molested, to prove to himself that not all teachers are bad. He's done that, and the passion for it still burns brightly in his chest. He loves to see his students learn, thrives off it in fact.
BACKGROUND: Lucas was born and raised in London. There is no denying that he had a posh, wealthy upbringing. That does not mean that it was perfect. His father was a serial cheater, he had mistresses all over the place. He was a business man, he'd never actually told Luke the place he worked for. His mother was a doctor. She worked hard, day after day, to be return to an adoring son but distant husband. They didn't divorce though. His mother due to the fact that it was better for Luke, his father for pride. He'd won over his wife after two years of pursuing, but once he got her, he didn't want her anymore. Luke could feel the tension between his mother and his father, and it sadly fed him. His father never showed affection toward him, he just handed him the latest toy, gadget or pet, thinking that he could buy his sons love. This wasn't the case. His mother was too busy to show him enough affection, something she felt truly sorry about daily. But she didn't want to quit her job, and Luke never asked her to do that, or resented her for not doing so.
School for Luke was easy in some cases, hard in others. He was intelligent and kept up easily in class work. He had friends and he had enemies. That was how school was supposed to be, right? What was wrong with school you ask? There was one thing that Luke, never, ever wanted to think of again. But it still haunts him. A male teacher when Luke was in year 4 molested the young boy, almost weekly. Luke kept silent as he used the same threats, over and over again. The typical "Tell anyone and I will kill you. As if they would believe you anyway.." Luke had been petrified. But then, one day, another student burst in the door of the store cupboard that the teacher had Luke in. He'd forgotten to lock the door for once. The student ran out and called the principal. The teacher tried to deny it, but Luke knew he was now safe. At least physically. Mentally he was still scarred. This was what started the restlessness of the young males' mind, preventing him from keeping still for longer than 2 minutes, the insomnia. Sure, there wasn't any reason why these reactions should have been caused, but that's how his brain began to cope with it.
His mother was so full of regret when she found out, but his father didn't bat an eyelid. This was the last straw for his mother. She applied for divorce, and though she didn't ask for it, she got half of his wealth. She bought herself and Luke a home, a little more into the countryside and not so centrally placed. Luke moved school and became himself once again, though there was still the obvious consequences. His mother allowed him to take up riding when he expressed an interest in doing so, and he slowly but surely made his way through school and onto university where he majored in Sociology, as well as gaining a minor in Religious studies. He went on to be a teacher in a comprehensive school in Suffolk for two years, before being offered a job at Park College, a job that he has accepted gladly.
