Aging?

I never really noticed how aging seems to work on RP site that don't have really specific parameters. So, when do characters and their animals become a year older? Should we make everyone a year older as of January the First just to keep it all neat and tidy? And if that's the case, is everyone a year older now because the new year just started? Maybe a 'year' could happen every six months? Three months seems to close together to me, but if you guys think that's good then it's fine with me. I'm just throwing about some ideas and I'd love for you guys to do the same. Let's get some suggestions and see what the general thought on it is, please? Thanks Lottii

If you are going to add an "a year is ... many months" you can't have liquid-time with the posts. Everyone age on the 1st of January works though (it's what they do in most Asian countries).
In my opinion, having a "set" year length, puts a restriction on the growth of your characters. But that's only my opinion. You know me, I work with the majority.

Mhmm yes, I can see that as a difficulty.
I think 1st Jan is my current favourite. Anyone else have something to add?
