PERSONALITY:
Maya is very serious when it comes to work. Focus is a must and she knows that she must keep herself in check while in the office. She's fair, yet not a push over. She's not the sort that anyone will ever be able to cross, she will find out and you'll be punished. This makes her an excellent principal, and the students fear her when they know they are in trouble. That doesn't mean that she doesn't get the odd cheek but she pulls the students into check when they do so.
She's very quietly spoken yet compelling in the way she does speak. She has the way of keeping a person hanging on her every word, and uses her hands to speak a lot. Very literate, she tends to give lengthy but very accurate of descriptions. It's a sort of habit, and many people just sigh and roll their eyes when she gets going. She can get very defensive about things she believes in and very passionate about them. Maya is a good one to have a debate with as she always has something to say and is a compelling speaker. She knows how to get her audience interested again if they lose it.
Maya is very formal and courteous, she believes respect is the highest form of flattery. The only time she can be rude is if she doesn't like someone, she'll just tell them. She has no problem with that. Very blunt and honest, she's an open book. Nothing is ever a secret with her unless it's important. She's been brought up with the belief that lying is wrong and that lies shall soon begin to possess a person and begin to rule you instead of you ruling the lie. Her manners are wonderful and she doesn't call someone by their first name until she knows them well enough.
The vixen is very decisive. She knows her own mind and will not let someone change it if she believes it's right. She knows that others input is valid, and she won't over rule people with the majority vote, but if she believes something will be better the way she had picked up on she'll try and persuade them that she is right. Usually, she succeeds. She's very realistic and doesn't have her head in the clouds like many people. She never has. Everything she does is through out thoroughly first, she never jumps at something. She's maybe a little cautious, and is simply unable to unwind or put away her work hat while out.
Although she has friends, she's not an overly friendly person. She prefers her own company and would rather be inside reading a book than going out to party. She's always been the same, preferring to study than go out at weekends with friends. A bit of a nerd really. Her friends and she had a mutual understanding and they never pushed her to come out. She still doesn't now.
The only thing that would ever get her to go outside were horses. She became devote to the animals when she was just a youngster. She competed briefly, but didn't really like it. But, she did love to just go out to the stables and groom her horses for hours. Animals are a great passion of hers and take a up a big place in her heart. Herbie, her Tabby, has the biggest place. He's her little baby. He's the only animal she has ever spoiled, and will be the only one ever. She regrets it as he's turned into such a sour bugger, but loves him to much to scold him.
Although she rarely has relationships, she hopes to one day settle down. She loves children and cannot wait to have a baby, yet doesn't really want a partner. She doesn't really like human affection and shies away from it. It makes her cringe if someone hugs her, and doesn't even like to shake anyones hand. She has personal space issues that she wants to get rid of, and is trying her hardest to do so. So far, it has been very unsuccessful.
BACKGROUND:
Maya was born in Spain, and lived there until she was 5. Her father was American, and he finally persuaded her mother to move to America with him. So, up she, her parents and two older sisters, went to Florida. There she attended school and went on to university where she studied English Literature and Language. She took up a job in the local high school before being promoted to Vice-Principal after two years. They could see the potential in the ambitious female, and she soon moved onto greater things. She saw an ad looking for a Principal at Park College and applied. The lucky vixen got the job, but will she settle?
Her equine experience began at 8. Her mother had always been fond of horses and passed this down to her daughter. She and Maya would go riding while her father was at work. Her sisters weren't too bothered about the sport, but loved to watch their younger sister competing. When she gave up, they were the most upset. The female would rather spend her time bonding that wasting her weekends at the hustle and bustle of shows. She didn't like the tension nor the drama. Yet, her love for horses have never faded.
