Welcome to the Christmas Auction here in the town of Park. Students, staff and townspeople alike I welcome you.
Of course, there are a few rules to adhere to. Please do not post purchasing a horse if someone has already posted showing interest - they get first dibs for posting first. You can always make a post expressing your interest though. Students and staff can own a maximum of four horses, and students cannot own horses under three (3) years of age, or stallions. And yes, purchasing a mare in foal is included in the rule of no under-threes. Of course, rules being made to be broken and all that, you can PM me requesting for special permission. I have been lax on this issue so far, but expect it to be tighter this time. Now, regarding the townspeople. You may only own horses if you live in Elm Terrace, unless you keep them at Rhodanne Farm (the livery yard). For those living in Elm Terrace, from now on you can only have as many horses and you have stables - special permission can be granted in the case of 'pasture ponies' but please ask.
I think that is everything, so the most important rule - have fun and look and all the wonderful horses here today.

Show Name: Blaze Of Light Barn Name: Blaze Breed: Thoroughbred cross. Age: 7 years Height: 15/1hh Gender: Mare Mini-Personality: Blaze can be a little feisty, she always wants her own way and is often a typical moody mare. She has stunning form over jumps though, and would excel as either a hunter or jumper. She rides fairly nicely, although she has little experience for her age. Her stable manners are good, albeit a little grumpy. Mini-History: Blaze was bred on a small stud farm specializing in top jumpers, and she was brought along slowly and carefully by them, they recognized her potential. They went bankrupt last year, and a snobby girl took an interest in Blaze, but lost interest pretty quickly. So the groom has been sent to sell her here.

Mini-History: Ripple was bred at a riding school from one of the school ponies. When she started to show a talent for jumping they sold her to an instructor who used her for teaching beginners in jumping. Since she was 10 she has been passed around a bit, but she still goes nicely around a course of jumps.

LOT 4 Show Name: Petite Fleur Barn Name: Pet Breed: Welsh B Age: 6 years Height: 13hh Gender: Mare Mini-Personality: Pet is quite a shy little mare, she flinches at things easily, but doesn't do big spooks or anything. It's something she will probably grow out of as she's only six. She goes beautifully when ridden, holding herself nicely naturally and she has wonderful form over jumps. Mini-History: Pet was bred to be a jumper for a specific young girl, but when she lost interest then the trainer just wanted rid of her - hence her being here.

LOT 5 Show Name: Gleam of Hope Barn Name: Glee Breed: Warmblood Age: 12 years Height: 16hh Gender: Stallion Mini-Personality: Glee is a typical stallion, he's big, he's rather bolshy, and he knows it. But he can be loving at times, and he is better with someone he trusts a lot. Most people are willing to put up with his behavior for his ridden work - he excels at jumping, cross-country and dressage. But he enjoys them all thoroughly and could do any of them separately or event. Mini-History: Glee was bred on a stud farm who trained him and competed him until he was 8 years old. Then in the last four years a woman competed him in dressage. When she died suddenly, there wasn't a will saying what she wanted to happen to Gleam and her non-horsey relatives just sent him off to the first auction they could find.

LOT 7 Show Name: Racin' Around Barn Name: Arrow Breed: Quarter Horse Age: 11 years Height: 15hh Gender: Mare Mini-Personality: Arrow is quite easy going most of the time, and good to handle on the ground. If she spooks at all she only jumps sideways, and thats not a frequent occurrence. She seems much the same to ride, but when you bring out some barrels, she flies around them at the speed of light. Mini-History: Arrow was bred on a ranch and competed in barrel racing by the daughter of the owner. When they gave up the ranch to move to England, Arrow came with them, but now she doesn't have the time to compete - she has started university. There aren't many places in England that ride Western, so when she found out that Park College did a Western course, she brought him along to the auction to see if anyone was interested, but she will only let him go to a kind home. LOT 12 Show Name: Doe Ray Me Barn Name: Ray Breed: Danish Warmblood Age: 8 years old Height: 16hh Gender: Gelding Mini-Personality: Ray is a cheeky horse, more like a pony in his temperament. When he is being ridden he calms down in that sense a little, but is quite forward going and doesn’t like to be given an instruction he doesn’t understand. If he doesn’t get what he is meant to be doing, he is apt to bucking. Mini-History: Ray’s early homes are unknown, but when he was four years old he was sent to a well-known trainers and then his owners vanished off the face of the earth. Getting a court order, the trainer became the legal owner of Ray, and found someone to take him on. But his life didn’t really get much better owner wise. Within a couple of months he was sold again, and again, and again. Owner: Joshua Walsh

Art pulled up outside the auction house, his thoughts swirling with a combination of things - the session he has just had with Dizzy, and the memory of stopping at this same place with his sister Mel when they first arrived at Park. That's when he had brought Dizzy, the silly mare. He had ridden the mare early, and a slight frown marred his face. Woman, all the same. Dizzy had only bucked him off once, so either he was improving or she was bucking less harshly. Either way it was a good sign. From bucking or rearing almost constantly when he had first brought her home, she now only did each a few times per session, and concentrated in between. Chuckling, he slipped out the truck and into the building quietly, not wanting a confrontation with students whilst he was checking out the horses.
There were about a dozen horses, and he made his way round the pens. The first to catch his eye was a big stallion, but there were two main things that put him off. And neither were really to do with the horse. Art didn't really feel like seeking permission to own a stallion, and the stallion was a Warmblood. In fact, he did have permission to keep a stallion at the college, his step-father had made sure of that when trying to send him to the college with one of the studs. Warmbloods were the horses that his step-father bred, and he had swore he would never own nor ride one. Shaking his head at what must seem so trivial, he carried on. A blanket appaloosa was the only other horse that held his eye, the one playing with the catch to the pen. The stallion had gotten it half undone, and he quickly slid it shut, clipping on an extra fastening to stop him doing so, someone else had clearly forgotten. Clicking his tongue, the horse came over quietly, and he flicked through the information sheets attached to the pen - although they were covered in rather green slobber. See See, a slightly strange barn name, in all honesty he would rather call the horse Spot. Dropping his hand from the horse's forehead, Art waited until the horse went back to munching the hay before he gently called out the name See See. The stallion's ears flicked forwards. Calling again, he spoke a single work this time, Spot. The stallion's ears flicked forwards. Okay, so he didn't know his own name anyway.
Spinning round as someone tapped him on the shoulder, a voice lacking any emotion spoke to him of the rustle of the crowd. "You interested?" Art nodded once in response, not bothering to give this man his time. "This enough? He handed over a small pile of notes to the man, probably a little under what the horse was worth. To his slight surprise - not that he showed it - the man accepted, turning away with a grunt and a parting sentence. "He's your problem now."
Deep frown lines etched themselves across Art's face as he realized he would have to call his sister to come with the trailer. Taking his phone out of his pocket with a resignated sigh, he dialled the number and spoke almost harshly. Long story short, she was about to leave anyway, and yes she would bring the trailer. While he was waiting, he hurried into town to buy some equipment for Seeing Spots. Of course, they sold some things at the auction but the prices and quality were much better at Hooves and Tails.

[/IMG] universetwilight.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/jackson_rathbone1.jpg[/IMG]* i look at you all see the LOVE there that's SLEEPING(WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS)- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jasper pulled into the parking lot of the auction house. His truck had a trailer attached to it, and Jasper wondered if there would be any talent at the Auction. He was looking for a youngish Western horse, but an older one would also do. There were a lot of English horses, and only a few Western. One appaloosa that looked promising had already been sold, and Jasper merely noted the horse. A flashy Saddlebred with a foal was standing in a corner of her pen. The foal seemed quite bold, and had good conformation to be an all round Western horse. The mare was skittish and stayed away from any human that passed. A shady dealer came up to the cowboy and gave Jasper the skeptical look that he got a lot round these parts. How much for the pair? Jasper asked. The man mumbled something about 400 quid, and this time Jasper raised his eyebrows. 350 pounds and you have a deal. The man nodded and Jasper handed over the money. The bill of sale was signed and passed over to Jasper.
He left that pen and browsed a bit more. A blue roan was in another pen. A older looking girl was standing at the pen, and was still looking hopeful at having the Quarter horse sold. Jasper gave her a friendly nod, before entering the pen. He ran his hands over the mare's legs, checked her teeth and felt for any other signs that might have shown ill health. She loves the barrels. Fantastic rodeo horse. she said with an American accent. I'll take her for £250. he said, the girl nodded and once again money changed hands. Jasper led the blue roan mare, and went back to the saddlebred mare and foal. The saddlebred was scared and had to be sedated before Jasper could lead her out. The foal was the hardest to load, but willingly followed his dam up the ramp. &tagged; who the thread is for &outfit; outfit link here &lyrics; while my guitar gently weeps by the beatles &listening to; song title by song artist ¬es; ooc notes here &credits; template by brooke from caution
