cause the last time you saw me
is still burned in the back of your mind

There was an air of sadness as she wrapped her arms around her grandfather. Quite the contrary to going far, she was just moving up the road to the college. Yet, she would miss living in the same house with the man she had been searching for for years. "Don't worry Locket, you'll be back down on the weekend. Ring me if anything goes wrong or you just need to chat." he told her in his thickly Irish accented vocals. He pulled her into one last bear hug before shooing her and Thyme out of the door. Remii was more worried about him than herself, but at least he had his own horses to keep him occupied. The girl sighed, casting a glance at the horse box parked in the driveway. Inside were her four horses, that had traveled quite a way. Flax, Oscar, Riddle and Whisper. The four had lived with her in America when she had attended Blue Ridge academy. She shunned the memories from her mind instantly, it was too hard for her to think of high school at the moment. Leaving Harry had been the hardest thing she had ever had to do, and she'd fallen into a slight depression only kept from getting worse by her grandfather and horses. Thyme whined at her side and she snapped from her trance, it was time to get going or she'd never pluck up the courage to start in her new school. She wondered if she would ever make a friend as special as Harry, knowing that she most probably wouldn't. Another sigh later, and she walked over to the cab of her truck, hauling Thyme into the seat when he refused to jump up.
The young vixen slowed the vehicle as they drew to the corner to the long drive way of the college. She couldn't help it, a slight tinge of excitement balled up in her stomach as she drew closer. There was no denying how impressive it looked. She knew the horses would settle here, she could already picture Whisper and Riddle throwing themselves around the pastures, with Flax and Oscar looking on in a more dignified manner. Oscar still joined in at times, but he was growing older and the harsh life he had suffered before Remii meant that he grew older quicker still. Flax just blanked out the antics, he hadn't really forgiven Riddle since she challenged him for dominance, and Whisper just annoyed him. She chuckled as she pictured each individual equine, they were all so different yet connected in some way or another. Finally, they reached the parking lot in front of the office, and she parked the truck not in the most elegant fashion. She still wasn't used to driving on the other side of the road, so it was understandable. Sometimes she strayed into the other lane, causing herself to have the fright of her life.
Her hand fumbled for the car door, and as she stepped onto the tarmac, memories flooded over her. It was all to similar, minus the social worker and plus two horses. Her oracles filled with tears that sat on her bottom eye lid. She wiped at them furiously, now wasn't the time. Harry was gone, there was no bringing him back now. He was probably moved on with his new life, still studying in America. One thing she did regret was not staying in touch with him, but she also knew it would be much harder if she had. Thyme dove from the seat of the truck, pressing his muzzle into the back of her knee. She smiled sadly down at him, petting his broad cranium. Sigh number three of the day and she looked back at the horse box. Everything was calm. Unusual, but she wasn't too bothered at the moment. She and Thyme picked up into a walk, making their way slowly to the main office. She opened the door a little reluctantly, she wished she could just take her horses to the stalls. As she went to the desk, she addressed the receptionist with minimal words and tried to cut the meeting short. Once she had received the information she needed, she left the office as quick as possible. Time to settle her unruly bunch, and try and forget the face that kept creeping up into her mind.
