NICKNAMES: Finn
AGE: Eighteen
GENDER: Male
ETHNICITY: Irish African American
STUDENT OR STAFF: Student, Part time groom
HALL: Ashton
PERSONALITY: Finn is that male who doesn't know he's handsome. He lives in his own little world most of the time, and it's very hard to get his attention when he retreats into it. He can come out with very, very random things at times, which even surprises him. He can be very funny and has a natural humorous streak. It can be sarcastic when angered, and quite childish when in a good mood. He doesn't believe in making fun of others intentionally, he's not that sort of guy. He's genuinely lovely and very easy going, it takes a lot to make him mad. But, he does get frustrated with himself at times. He doesn't always believe he's doing the best he can and strives to do better. He can be very hard on himself and locks himself in his room for days on end, trying to figure out how he can do better. This is down to his parents, but he'd never admit it to himself. Although intelligent, he doesn't tend to think things through enough and sometimes struggles in school. He has to study to keep up, and gets really angry when he begins to fall behind. This worries those close to him, as he just piles and piles work on himself.
Caring and loyal, Finn makes a very good friend. He can be fiercely protective if you mean enough too him, and he'd never, ever give up on someone. He'll always stick by his friends, not letting them get hurt. He's much stronger than he thinks and can be very clumsy. He doesn't think he's 6'1, more like 5'4. He's the kid that'll walk straight into a door frame, even if it's pretty obvious he's not going to fit under it. Being so clumsy means that he's prone to accidents. He's lost count of how many bones he's broken, when he broke them or even how. He currently has his leg in plaster from falling off his friends horse. That's another thing about him, he seems to not have fear when it comes to things like that. The horse he got on was obviously dangerous, he was flying into fits of rage without being provoked in the slightest. Yet, Finn was more than up for getting on the horse. To be fair, he lasted the longest on the gelding's back than any other person had before, but still had a lot of damage. He also doesn't care what the consequences are, he'll march straight up to a person causing trouble and tell them off. More often than not, he'll get beaten up. Still, he will not back down unless physically pulled away.
Finn is a big animal lover, and would do anything for his pets. He currently owns a dog and a cat. These two animals mean the world to their owner and he'd do anything for the pair. Horses are also a huge passion, but there is something about them that he's starting resent. It's probably because he was forced into it. But, he knows he could never give it up, no matter how hard he tries.
Although he's handsome, Finn has only ever had one serious relationship. And she broke his heart. He's very shy around females he doesn't know well or likes, and gets uncomfortable when they openly flirt with him. He's had a few flings, but he knew they meant nothing. They left him feeling hollow inside. He wishes that the right girl would come along, so he can sweep her off her feet but most are just looking to use him for his looks. He can be a little gullible and times and falls for it. He has a big heart, but it can only be broken so many times.
BACKGROUND: Finn was born on the twelfth of May, nineteen ninety three to an Irish mother and African-American father. His mother was the perfect example of an Irish beauty, her milky white complexion and fiery red locks. Her small, petite frame was dwarfed by Finn's father. His father was the mirror image of what any proud father should be. The black male stood a 6'5, well muscled with a large, lumbering frame. You could tell that he was a hard ass to please though, and Finn learned this quickly. His home life was content until Finn turned five. His father became much more demanding, forcing his son into various activities to keep him busy. By now, Finn had two sisters and a brother on the way. Finn always seemed to be the butt of the joke, and not understanding he used to laugh along too. He was completely unaware that his father was making fun of him.
Once he started school, he realized that his home life wasn't exactly normal. His friends hated coming to his house, and he hated taking them there. He spent a lot of time at his best friends house, and they turned into his second family. School was good for Finn. He made friends easily, and was doing fairly well in his school work. But his home life made it hard for him to concentrate. His father had never beaten him, but he knew if he went too far, his father wouldn't hesitate to. So, all he wanted to do was please him. If he didn't, he'd go without supper or various other things like his siblings would get a treat and he wouldn't. He couldn't help but think that it was all his fault, and not his father just being cruel.
At seven, he was forced into horse riding. All other hobbies he took up didn't stick, but his mother had always been a keen rider and wanted him to take part too. At first, he enjoyed it. His mother would just give him lessons every Saturday, and if he could after school. But then his father intervened. He saw the talent his son possessed, and decided to use it to his advantage. By the age of ten, Finn was competing with ages varying from 14-17 in various jumping competitions. He had a flare for both show jumping and cross country. He was doing amazing, winning so many competitions that he was becoming unstoppable. His father couldn't have been more proud. He gained a girlfriend, who was also on the circuit. He thought they were in love, he certainly was, but then disaster struck. At 15, he took a nasty fall. His shoulder was wrecked, he was told he shouldn't ride for two years. Not one to disobey orders, he stepped away from the animals. His girlfriend dumped him, deciding that if he wasn't winning anything, he wasn't worth it. His father was furious. He hated the fact that he had to care for his son until he was better. As soon as he was well enough, Finn was thrown back on the horse. This was only three months ago. It took him only two weeks to get back into the feel of it, and there he was once again, on horse back and competing with the best.
Again, there was an accident. This one was nowhere near as serious as his shoulder, but he got thrown off his friends gelding. His leg is still in plaster, and his father has had enough. He's sent Finn to Park Equine College to get his act together. He's still in plaster but as soon as he's out, he's been told to get straight back on the horse. His shoulder still gives him pain, but he's taught himself to bare it to make his father happy. No doubt his leg will give him pain also. In some ways he is excited to come here, get away from his home town of Oregon. But he's also worried. He knows his siblings will be forced to do things they don't want to do while he's away, but he knows he has no say in the matter. What ever his father says, goes. So here he is now, hoping to do his father proud. Whether it goes that way or not is the problem.
