Okay, so I realised last night that I haven't really talked about my horsey life. This may also be because Lottii said pretty much the same thing. So currently I'm not doing any riding (I'm blaming school) as it's been a hectic two years and going on for a third. I am hoping however that I'll at least be able to do some riding next year.
My riding preferences go out to the completely insane horses. My old instructor also seemed to favour giving them to me. I once rode a horse that hadn't been ridden for a year. He was on a some high energy feed, and a Thoroughbred. That same day I had a fractured hip. So meet Seattle Snow:
Do not trust his sweet, innocent face. Okay, he really is sweet and an angel, but needs to be lunged for an hour before a lesson. He's been sold on from the stables last I heard.
This is Kitty Hawk. A 23 year old Saddler mare of the Chestnut variety. She favour's her gaited walk rather than a normal walk, and can a pain to ride at times. She's an easy spooker, and don't think I ever took her on a trail ride.
Now this is Toffee. I actually have no idea if she is a pony or a horse, but she is rotund. She is one of the school ponies and a challenge. Nobody likes riding her, because she does test her rider, and then they say she is evil and a badly trained horse. I don't much about her past, but it is assumed that she was abused because she is whip-shy, trotting-pole shy and slightly head shy.
This was taken on bath day last year. She is an angel, and follows me around like a puppy-dog. I just have to throw her lead over neck, and off we go. For the grooms it was quite a sight to see, and they were laughing... until they got used to seeing her like that. She is also a sucker for apples. Apples+Toffee= Slobber alert
Bath day was actually middle winter, so yeah. That day it was something like 30 degrees, so I was sunburn't for a while. Our winters can differ from freezing to it feeling like summer.
This was taken the second time I rode her. At our stables we have a strict cool-off policy, and it's every rider for them selves. Tof also wondered what the towels on her back were for, and kept shooting me the looks. It got better when I actually fed her carrots. Oh and her favourite food is an energy bar. Preferably strawberry flavoured.
I will upload more pics later.
