Jonah likes to play the whole high and mighty card. His tall, well muscled frame is lumbered around in a threatening manner, he's not graceful in the slightest and wouldn't want to be. He's known for using his fists before he thinks, ending up in quite a few brawls which he is always able to win. He's not very intelligent, but he keeps up his grades so that he can continue to play the sport that he loves. Rugby. His father has told him that if he doesn't work hard enough, he must stop playing rugby. His father is the only person who would get away with threatening him, the only person who has ever scared Jonah. Other than that, it's Jonah doing all the scaring. He cannot handle being teased and hates even the slightest of comments sent his way.
Jonah has a secret that he doesn't want anyone to know. He is actually gay, but doesn't like to admit it to himself. His father would kill him if he found out, and Jonah makes it his duty to keep his father off his case. Instead, he acts like a player. He has a different girl on his arm weekly, using his good looks as a draw in. He feels absolutely nothing for these girls, and they know it. They are just pleased to have his attention. Jonah has always been the popular boy, striding around the school as if he owned the place. In a way, he did. Groups of people parted as he walked by, almost cowering. He scared others too much to even allow them to speculate his sexuality, just the way he liked it.
Beneath this bad boy exterior, he is actually just a lost child. His mother didn't want much to do with him, she just stuck around to please her husband. Jonah had to earn appreciation and attention from his father, which was never an easy task. Although he never rose a hand to Jonah, the boy knew he wouldn't think twice about hitting him if he wanted to. This made the boy live in fear. The only time Jonah was ever himself was when he was around horses. Horses were another secret passion that little people knew about. He becomes a gentle giant around his pets, his usually threatening, defensive stance and facial expressions turned to gentle and caring. You would never think he was the same person around them. His father was happy enough to buy him a horse, on one condition. It would be one that would cause problems. That he did do, but Jonah has finally set up an understanding with his horse.
As well as being a horse lover, Jonah adores dogs. His parents also share the passion of the animals, and Jonah has many at home. He's been allowed to bring two with him to the college. It was a difficult decision for him as he adored every single one of the family pets, but finally decided on two. He has all the time in the world for his dogs, and doesn't mind showing that side of him. As soon as the dogs leave his side though, he changes and defensive Jonah returns. Much to the disappointment of others. This shows that he does actually have a caring, sweet side hidden beneath his facade. Sadly, you have to be the right person to find it.
As mentioned before, Jonah is a gay in denial. This doesn't mean he hasn't had relationships with boys, he has just made sure that nobody will ever find out. He honestly wishes that he could come out of the closet, but cannot bring himself to do so. The right person has never come along to persuade him otherwise. Moving to Park though, he does hope to find that person. Whether he is successful or not, we'll never know. He could just turn all defensive again and will not let anyone penetrate his hard shell.
BACKGROUND:
Born in a quaint town of Cuenca, Spain to a Spanish mother and a Welsh father, Jonah was brought up there for six years of his life. He grew up speaking three different languages, Spanish, Welsh and English. His parents wanted him to be culturally diverse. His father then decided that he wanted them to move back to Wales for Jonah to be closer to his grandparents. This meant he wanted to unload Jonah off onto his grandparents whenever he felt like it, as Jonah's mothers parents were living in Australia. Jonah was more than happy to, and they moved to Bangor, North Wales. Jonah settled into school was was rather sweet until he reached the age where he started Comprehensive school. He joined the rugby team, and became the popular kid everyone wanted to be. At fourteen, Jonah knew he was gay. Mortified, he began to snap at everyone and even targetted the people he knew were gay to make him feel better. He never told a soul, just carried on having girlfriend after girlfriend, and continued on his way to sporting fame.
At 16, he made the decision to stay onto Sixth form. His grades weren't good enough though, and at 18 he decided to leave a few months off getting his A-Levels. He took a year break, concentrating on working with his horse. Now, he has decided to come to England and started in Park. Now he shouldn't have to be ashamed of the person he became around horses, all of the other students would be the same. He doesn't intend on making his sexuality a well known fact either, if he does strike a relationship with another boy, he'd make sure that it was kept quiet. He has no intention of falling into the background either, he'll become a very, very well known face around the college. Some will enjoy it, others? Not so much.
MISC.:
Autumn. Autumn is a gorgeous female Foxhound. She is five years old. The stereotypical Foxhound is to be highly strung, strong willed and crave to hunt. Autumn is none of these things. She's very, very affectionate and loves to be glued to Jonah's side. She always looks up to him before doing something, looking for approval. Her favorite thing to do is curl up beside him in the evenings while he does homework, reads or plays video games.
Spring. Spring is a beautiful female Irish Red Setter. She is about four years old. Her natures is quite opposite to Autumns, preferring to decide things herself and often gets into trouble for it. She's not submissive and would rather sit alone where as Autumn would rather be by Jonah. She's very bossy toward Autumn and is leader of their small pack. She'll look for attention if she wants it, but other than that, she is happy to go it alone.
