Basic Information: Ever is a Missouri Fox Trotter mare, around seven years of age. She is a Western trained horse. At the time of this being written, she is about 4 months into her pregnancy.
History:
Not much is known of her history. I asked Mr.Harman if he had any information about her previous information. He gave me the contact details of her previous home which I proceeded to contact.
Ever was bred on a small ranch in Wisconsin. Her breeding lines are tops, but as a foal she was pushed a tad harder than fair. This might account for her shy attitude towards people. After being sold, she was trained in barrel racing. Tracing her rodeo records, I found that she excelled in competition. She was ridden by a young girl of about 14 years of age, but the girl got bored of riding so Ever was sent to Auction. She already had her first foal afoot at this stage.
At five she was put into foal again at her previous home. Her loving nature is always passed onto her foals. This time she had been exported to England, and few months later she had a colt. For some reason Ever was put up for sale, and this is when the College bought her. She was put into foal a few months ago to a Quarter Horse stallion.
Exercise:
Still being early in her pregnancy, I decided not to risk Ever having a miscarriage. I have been hacking her lightly around the grounds, riding her bareback. This is just to keep her in work, and not standing out in a paddock all day.
Other:
So far I have been working on building trust with Ever. Usually I would've tried Join-Up, but as a result of her condition I'm not taking the chance. I've been grooming her, and just spending time to know her. This includes sitting in her paddock or outside her stall. TTouch also seems to be helping her relieve any form of tension she might have.

Information:
Since the last entry, Ever has been taking the pregnancy in her stride. She is now five months along, and about half through. She is healthy, and eating with gusto. Her feeding plan now includes vitamins for pregnant mares. She is turned out the majority of the day with a winter blanket, and is bought in for lunch and then again for the night.
I am still riding her bareback, but will be giving her break over Christmas. I have arranged that a friend looks after her while I am away.

Six months in, and Ever is going like a star. On my return I spent my time walking her in hand around the College, but never for long distances. She seemed somewhat down, and off her feed. I contacted the vet, and it seemed that Ever had contracted a flu virus from somewhere. She was put into isolation, and after about two weeks has recovered fully. She is kept inside now, just until the weather changes as there has been a few snow falls lately. It seems that she enjoys the outdoors, but has been spending her time inside sleeping. She is starting to grow very round.
I am still continuing the TTouch, as Ever is a mare prone to stressing easily, and I do not wish her to abort the foal this late a stage.

It is now almost seven months into Ever's pregnancy. She is rather large, and the foal has been felt kicking a few times. Ever has recovered well after her brief illness, and still manages a waddling trot every now and then in the paddock. The change of season has done Ever well, I think that the winter was just getting her down.
She has become slightly moody lately, but not to the point of lashing out at passer's by. She is a sucker for carrots and apples, and I make sure to add a quarter to her evening feed.
