Show Name: Case 13
Barn Name: Casey
Age: 9
Gender: Mare
Color: Chestnut
Breed: Anglo-Arabian (Thoroughbred cross Arabian)
Height: 15hh
Personality: Casey slowly came out of her shell with Harry (and Remii's help). Now, instead of being terrified of everything, she is scared of somewhat more sensible things. Large moving objects - tractors/lorries - worry her, and so do fast-moving people. Casey still doesn't like horses though, the only horse she ever liked was Oscar - a horse owned by Remii. To be ridden, she is now fairly sensible - although she used to be spooky and over-responsive. She responds to instructions most of the time, and never bucks. If she dislikes something, she will rear, and this is her greatest fault as they are not little rears! Her favorite thing to do is Show Jumping, although she enjoys Cross Country too, she is just not very brave at ditches and water. Her breed means she looks nice doing Dressage, but Casey finds it very boring and will often start to play up if she does it often.
History: Casey was in a tiny 'paddock' just three meters square. Completely bare of anything apart from urine and faeces, Casey was not beaten to leave scars, but she is scared of people moving quickly or raising their hand, so Harry guesses she has been thumped or slapped. Little of her history is known, she is a papered Anglo-Arab, so it would be possible to trace her history of owners. Harry spotted her on the way to Blue Ridge Academy, starved in a field. He spoke a single word in front of people for the first time in many years. "Stop". The social worker who was driving him stopped outside the field, shocked that he had spoken. His first ever sentence spoken in front of people shortly followed, when the man who owned the horse approached them. Harry held out a few notes which he had in his pocket and said a somewhat complete sentence, "for the horse". In exchange, the man stumbled drunkenly to his pick up, and came back with the ownership papers and registration papers proving the mare was a pure, registered Anglo-Arabian. Returning just an hour later the horse was caught easily and sedated for the journey to Blue Ridge.
At Blue Ridge she was ridden by Harry is class once she was healthy and being ridden nicely. During the summer between BRRA and Park, she came to England with Harry, and competed at top Junior Show Jumping.
