Bella played with the wedding ring on her finger as she put it back on in the bathroom. If someone had told her a year ago that she would be married with a daughter, she would have laughed in their face and told them that they were crazy. Now, here she was in Whistler, Canada, with the love of her life merely steps away. She had slept through most of the flight, but the difference was that most of it wasn’t alone this time. Once at the lodge, she had taken to the bathroom, washing all the gel from her hair and travel fatigue from her body. The wedding had been amazing. Small, intimate, the closest of their friends and family being there, and Bella couldn’t have wanted anything else. For her, there was so much that had happened between her and Kian over the last year. She had fallen pregnant, Carys was born premature, his father had kidnapped her, and then there was the rehab afterwards, planning a wedding, and just being blissfully happy. Wrapping herself in one of the robes that hung in the bathroom, she once more looked at the ring on her finger. It was odd, knowing that Kian was now her husband, and not just a lover or boyfriend, but in the end, she wouldn’t have it any other way. Coming out of the bathroom, she loved the fact that there was someone waiting for her. She couldn’t help the butterflies in her stomach. Sure, she had slept with Kian before, after all, that was the way Carys ended up in the world, but now it was oddly different. It was as if they were sealing their commitment to each other. As if she was granted her innocence again and that Kian was going to take it from her again, as it would be, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Bella knew it was impossible, but that was what it felt like. She was young, she knew that, but when Bryn had taken her from everything that she knew, it was the small hope that Kian would be looking for her that got her through the four days that she was gone. It was knowing that she would have someone to comfort her when she came back. Kian was her life now. Her family was her life, but there was always the hope that maybe she would fall pregnant again, another thing that Bella knew was impossible, because she been announced as infertile soon after being rescued from Bryn.
Bella had always wanted a large family. She had wanted children and she had found the person that she wanted to do it with, only to have it taken from her in the cruellest of ways. She didn’t blame Kian. She blamed herself for being stupid enough to take on Bryn. There was always Carys, and that was their miracle. There was missing weight of their daughter in her arms, but this was their honeymoon. Finding Kian, she wrapped her arms around his waist, and rested her head against his chest. He was almost 6”3’ and Bella was exactly 5”8, but to Bella it was a perfect fit. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for him, the total love that she felt for this male that she was holding.“I love you,” she murmured against his chest, already knowing that she wouldn’t be seeing the snow that evening.
Max had been the one to give the honeymoon. A wedding gift from his side, and already Bella shuddered to think what it all included. A week in Whistler and then two weeks in Zanzibar was what given away, but from what she saw in her suitcase, it was going to become fairly interesting. That, and he still had the same hope that she did. That she would fall pregnant, because he had packed in a few pregnancy tests for her as well. She let out a deep sigh of contentment, feeling relaxed and feeling safe. She had felt it for a while, but there was nothing like knowing when they went back to Park, that they would have an apartment in town and that everything would be perfect.
Apart from the fact that she had mere months left with her brother, but she wouldn’t allow any negative thoughts. This day was going to be perfect. And it would be because she had Kian with her. Her husband.
