PLAYBY: Corbin Bleu
FULL NAME: Logan Peter Richards
NICKNAMES: LP
AGE: Seventeen
GENDER: Male
ETHNICITY: American x British
STUDENT OR STAFF: Student
HALL: Dakota
PERSONALITY: Logan is fairly shy until you get to know him. He’s got a cheeky sense of humour and loves to get stuck into a group, though people tend to shy away from him due to his disability. Logan is mostly deaf. Though he can hear some things, it’s very distant as if someone is far away when they could be directly beside him. He does have hearing aids, which makes it a lot easier but he often takes them out for peace and quiet. He can talk perfectly well, and his speech patterns would not really hint to him being deaf unless you listened closely. He can become quite lazy though, and revert back to sign language instead of speaking as he finds it easier. Greg is often telling him off for doing so.
Logan is very intelligent. It’s natural and he’s almost lazy with it. He doesn’t like studying as he feels he doesn’t need to, so he needs a lot of encouragement. He’s also creative, and loves to paint. He’s often found painting various places and will no doubt be the same around the college. He has a talent for caricatures, and was popular around his last school for doing so. He also got in a fair amount of trouble for drawing some not so flattering ones of his teachers. He took it in his stride though, and found that most of the teachers found them amusing.
As well as being creative, he’s fairly athletic. He loves to swim, and obviously ride, and can be found in the pool quite often. He will go for hours, and tends to go whenever he knows that nobody else is there are he has to take his hearing aid out and can’t hear at all when they’re trying to get his attention. His riding ability is also quite high, but he does like to do a lot of ground work with his horses, and because he can’t hear them he has them respond to signals as do his dogs. He will spend hours on end teaching and instructing his horses like this to help strengthen his bond with them.
As a friend, Logan is a lovely boy. His cheeky nature is a characteristic that many others love and he’s a friendly guy. He’s loyal and maybe a little too trustworthy but nobody has ever really taken advantage of it. He has got a temper though, and can get fairly frustrated with certain things due to his disability. His temper is explosive, but short and he’s always the first to apologise. Even if it wasn’t his fault. He doesn’t like being involved in conflict, so will do a lot to resolve it.
Romance wise, Logan hasn’t really had much of one. He had a serious girlfriend last year that lasted for about seven months but they broke up not long before Logan found out he was moving. It was a mutual decision and there were no hard feelings. He’s had a couple of flings since then, but they have left him feeling a little hollow. He’s a romance kind of guy and wants the relationship side of things. He knows how to treat a lady, and will always do his best for them.
BACKGROUND: Logan is the son of Gregory Richards and Lucy Richards, now god knows what. He was diagnosed as deaf just before his second birthday. This did not deter the little boy, as he picked up sign language very quickly and was also taught to speak by his father. He was fitted with a hearing aid just before he turned three and then was able to go to a regular school which he excelled at. The naturally intelligent boy took to it like a duck to water and once the other students got over the fact that he was deaf, they warmed to him and found that he was lovely and cheeky, just like any other boy their age.
At 12, Logan’s mother left them. He blamed himself, knowing his mother hadn’t ever bonded him the way a mother should. He became angry, and very withdrawn until the age of fourteen. His father persevered though and brought him back to his usual self. He settled back into his favourite activities, such as riding and art. In fact, he started to show his emotions through his paintings and it became good stress relief for him. With his father being the owner of a highly prestigious stud farm, with the help of Logan’s grandfather, it would be odd for the male not to get into riding himself. Like his father, he rides both Western and English and loves both. He’s always helped around the farm and adores doing so. He feels very comfortable there, and being around horses is a favourite past time of his.
Having not long finished comprehensive school with 12 GCSE’s, Logan and Greg have now moved to Park for his father’s new job and the downsizing of the farm. He’s bringing with him his two dogs and two horses, and cannot wait to settle into the college and start his classes. He does have some fears of settling and prejudices to his disability, but knows he’s going to love it anyway.
MISC.:
PHAROAH is a six year old male brindle boxer. He is Logan’s hearing dog, and never leaves Logan’s side. The canine, when not working, is an absolute sweetheart. He adores fusses and will flop immediately down onto his stomach and demand a scratch on his stomach. He’s very submissive toward Sasha, Logan’s other dog, and is actually quite a wimp. When he is working though, nothing will break his concentration on Logan and his surroundings. He’s always on the lookout and making sure to keep his master safe.
SASHA is a two year old blue merle female Corgi will a hell of a lot of attitude. This little canine is adorable, but don’t ever let her looks fool you. Though wonderfully natured to Logan, she is fiercely protective of her master and can be quite hostile toward others. She hasn’t ever bitten someone, but she growls and snarls at people in warning. She’s fine around other dogs, though bossy toward Pharaoh. She also loves horses, and can spend hours playing in the paddock with Logan and Greg’s.
