PLAYBY: Will Smith
FULL NAME: Gregory Aiden Richards
NICKNAMES: Greg
AGE: 37
GENDER: Male
ETHNICITY: African American x British
JOB: Police Officer
RESIDENTIAL AREA: Elm Terrace
PERSONALITY: Greg is a sweetheart but it’s pretty well hidden. This tall, handsome male is able to hide his true feelings and emotions due to his field of work and a messy divorce. He never shows his weaknesses, not wanting to give others something to strike him with. He plays his cards close to his chest and won’t give anyone clues to break past his highly enforced walls. He’s a tough nut to crack, but if you manage to get through, you’ll be rewarded greatly.
He’s very well built and incredibly strong, yet he holds himself with indescribably grace and moves almost silently. After being an undercover cop for so many years, he has had to be. He can also come across as arrogant and cocky, but again this is a defensive thing. He likes to push people away, not draw them in. He just doesn’t want to be hurt again.
Greg is somewhat a perfectionist. He’s a keen horse man, so everything he does with the horses has to be done exactly how he planned it in his head. The same goes for his work. He will have a plan made so fool proof before he’ll get into anything, though that will have to change when he begins as a field officer. His paperwork is always done correctly and quickly, he doesn’t do half jobs.
His love life is now non-existent after his wife left him. He hasn’t been with anyone in five years and doesn’t plan on either, unless someone can really change his mind. He’s cold toward the women who flirt with him so he doesn’t give them the wrong impression but does feel bad afterwards. He just doesn’t want to get into anything for it to be snatched away from him. When he is in a relationship, he can be possessive, but he’s also very considerate and loving. He always makes his partners feel wanted, even if a lot of his time is taken up by work and with the horses.
As a friend, Greg is a lot of fun. He’s cheeky, a trait he’s passed down onto his son, and always there for those that are close to him. He’s protective, and doesn’t like being challenged by others or having his friends made uncomfortable. He will always stick up for those he trusts and is very loyal to those who have earned it. He does let loose when he’s had a few drinks, becoming more relaxed and free willed but he also does have some sort of guard to not let himself get too out of control.
BACKGROUND: Greg was born in New York, to a British mother and American father. They soon moved to Britain when Greg’s father, who didn’t have any family living close, got transferred and thought it would be better to be around Greg’s mother’s family to help with raising Greg while he was at work. He worked as an officer, and loved his job. Greg idolised his father and fell in love with the job that he did. He spent most of his time when he wasn’t in school with his father in the station. His father, who was part of the mounted officers, also taught the boy to ride himself and Greg mastered the art of riding in no time. He trained himself in Western riding as well as English to be able to have more variety in his life.
School was easy for the male, he is intelligent so lessons came easy and he didn’t make it hard for himself by messing around. He studied, did enough to pass and then applied for the force with his father. Greg now had two younger sisters, who he adored and was very protective over. He also had a girlfriend who would soon become his wife. They had been together since they were fifteen. Lucy was the love of his life, and he hers until she felt pregnant. Things started to go downhill from then. Finding out just a week after they married, both then 20, Lucy was all for it for the first few months. When they hit the five month mark, she began to get snappy and annoyed with Greg more easily. Hating that he was in work, or out with his father’s horses too much. He wasn’t, so Greg put it down to hormones.
Logan was born a healthy boy, and Greg couldn’t be more proud. Lucy, sadly, developed postnatal depression and took a little long to bond with Logan, but Greg held hope and eventually she did. It went fairly smoothly until they found out that Logan was mostly deaf. The boy still hadn’t said his first word at the age of nearly two, so they took him to the doctors, who’d been dismissing the fact for a while, and they eventually diagnosed it. Lucy grew even more distant, only dealing with Logan when she had to. Greg said nothing though, not wanting to anger her as she usually snapped at him for the smallest thing. He took over most of the caring, as well as work and taking on his father’s studs as he grew too old to do so.
Then, when Logan turned 12, Lucy eventually left. Though Greg had somewhat expected it, he was still surprised. Logan was devastated. The divorce papers came through, and Lucy remarried. She now had nothing to do with both Greg and Logan, other than the odd Christmas card. Logan was heartbroken, and shrunk into his shell. It took Greg a lot, but he finally got through to the boy. He raised him well for being a single father, having Logan work with the horses on the weekends and after school. Logan would also stay with his grandparents a lot, especially if Greg was away working. Logan was actually happier than he’d ever been. As was Greg, though his heart still hurt. He truly did, and deep down still does, love Lucy.
Greg heard of the opening in Park from Sam Holmes, whom had been to collect three studs off him to bring to the academy. Cass, Nero and Doc had all once belonged to Greg, and now with the man downsizing to just three studs, as well as the one that Logan owns and his mare, Greg found Park the perfect place to have a fresh start. And Logan can’t wait to attend a school centred on horses. Greg believes that this will be the best place for them, and was truly intrigued by the all-woman force that he’d heard a lot about through the grapevine.
MISC.:
DRIZ is a four year old male Weimaraner. He’s proud, intelligent and hell of a force dog. He’s got a nose that can sniff out even the faintest of trails and Greg has relied a lot on this handsome canine. At home, he’s fairly lazy and loves to curl up on the sofa doing nothing after a hard day’s work. He’s also extremely fond of herding the horses, which they find a lot of fun and turn it into a game.
