PERSONALITY: Dianna is calm, collected and nothing really ruffles her feathers until it comes to her family. This protective mother bear will do anything for those closest to her and is as ferocious as they come. She can have people cowering if she really wants too, but that isn’t very often. She doesn’t tolerate threats to those she loves and will do as much as she can to protect them.
She’s quite a quiet person too, usually because she relies on how observant she is. Nothing ever makes its way past Dianna, though she doesn’t always let on what she knows. She’s always there to lend a helping hand to a person in need and is a fantastic listener if the situation calls for it. She also has wonderful advice, but she’d never force it upon someone.
Her intelligence level is very high, as is her common sense. She can answer almost any question fired at her, though people don’t tend to go to her as they believe ‘Oh, she’s a receptionist. She can’t know that.’ Ieuan just doesn’t go to her because he’s stubborn and doesn’t like knowing his mother is smarter than him. She almost always has a book with her and doesn’t mind sparing her time to recommend others for anyone.
Her temper is something she passed on to her son. Though it isn’t set off as easily as his, it’s just as explosive. She has a sharp, and cutting tongue that she’s not afraid to use if she’s unhappy. She also sulks for a while afterwards, and is reluctant to apologize. She is definitely just as stubborn as Ieuan. She does know when she has to apologize though, and will do eventually. She, thankfully, is a little more polite than her son.
BACKGROUND: Dianna was born in Pembrokeshire, West Wales to a small time farmer. She grew up in the small town alongside Dafydd Rees and Owaine Rees, the latter which she’d come to marry eventually. Along with these two, she grew up with her two best friends being Jayden Collins, come Rees, and Carys Oliver, come Landeg. She worked through school easily, her intelligence coming into play whenever she needed it. Life stopped being as easy when she fell pregnant at 15, with Owaine Rees’ child. Ieuan.
Married at eighteen, with a three year old son, Dianna was happy. She was content to stay in her hometown for the time being, to have her family and the Rees’ around to help her with Ieuan. She took up a job as a receptionist in the local doctors surgery and thrived off being in contact with so many people. She also thrived at being a mother, and fell into step with the routine with ease. At twenty one, Owaine decided to move Dianna and Ieuan down to the south of Wales for a change. He started a contractor business and Dianna took up a new job as a receptionist in a local comprehensive school.
Life carried on more normally now. Dianna and Ieuan had their ups and downs, she had even more with her husband. When Ieuan went to school in America, even more cracks began to show within her marriage. They stuck together though, and it was no secret that Owaine had been cheating on her and was more than a little rough with her at times. She became an expert in hiding the bruises and cuts she suffered at his hands. She kept quiet mainly because of Ieuan. The boy had a lot going on in his life that Dianna didn’t want to unsettle him more.
Eventually, the relationship crumbled. Dianna had enough, and threatened Owaine with divorce. He beat her too it though, and filed immediately. Now, Dianna is coming to Park after a kind off from Dafydd. After hearing her situation, and knowing that she was staying with his parents, Dafydd offered a secretary position in the college. Dianna agreed immediately, mainly to be closer to her son. She’s fighting to keep her possessions and enough money to survive independently, though Owaine is determined to fight her every step of the way. No matter how tough it’s going to get for her, she can’t wait to get to Park.
MISC.: MAPLE. Maple is a two year old mongrel bought for Dianna by Ieuan as a present when he returned from America. The young canine is an absolute sweetheart but extremely excitable. She adores cuddles and loves to play. She also enjoys being in the presence of humans as much as she can, though can be quite shy around other dogs. It takes her a while to feel comfortable about being around other dogs, but she’s not dangerous at all.
