Dani has spunk. She is quirky and can be quite the chatterbox when she feels like it. She often doesn't know when she's rambling, but a quick 'shush' will get her to calm down. This is not the most helpful in most situations when she sometimes says things that she doesn't mean or that she shouldn't. Dani has lost quite a few friends like that, but she has learned her lesson. Her friendliness makes people trust her, but she doesn't have a lot of close friends. She has one or two trust issues, but because of them, it makes her quite useful when solving a case because she doesn't just believe every story that she is told.
Dani can be quite introspective sometimes. It usually happens when she is upset or she fought with someone. It is during this time that she withdraws completely and stays at home doing something less than constructive. Usually watching dvd's or reading books. Some weekends are also spent like this, but then it's because she doesn't feel like going out or she doesn't feel like people. Dani also then refuses to answer the phone or even go on a computer. Total cut off from the rest of the world.
Anger wise, she does know how to keep her cool. Dani would rather punch a bag than a person, but one or two people have been known to be at the receiving end of her blows. It's very rare and takes a lot to get her so riled up to actually hit someone. She hates extreme violence, and even has an aversion to action flicks. Strange because she is a cop, but Dani is the one that would do paperwork instead of fieldwork.
Dani has had one major love in her life. They went out for five years and people said they were perfect for each other. Michael however, did not, and she caught him cheating on her. Since that day a year ago, she refused to even date, thinking all men are pond scum that aren't even worthy of her attention. She's quite the flirt though, but it never goes further than that.
BACKGROUND:
Dani was born in Chicago, Illinois in the USA to Renee and Peter Oliver. She is an only child and thus got almost everything she wanted. Well, she isn't spoiled, but she did have her parents wrapped around her little finger from a young age. When she was four, her father got a job opportunity in London and so everybody moved to their new home. It was also around this time that she started riding, mostly children's showing classes and lead rein dressage classes. Her passion was to reach the top, but when she was six, Dani was diagnosed with Leukaemia and stopped riding for a few years.
When she was nine, she was officially in remission, but only started riding again when she was ten. It seemed to do her the world of good, and helped her cope with school. She was always the odd one out, the one nobody ever really understood. The horses never judged her or thought badly of her. Despite missing a lot of school in her childhood, Dani was quite the bright spark and excelled at any subject that she put her mind to, yet she loved the sciences and maths, so that is what she put the most effort into.
Graduating with straight A's in her A-levels, Dani knew that she wanted to go into the force. She would however have put it all on the line for Michael who she met at the age of 17. She enrolled, was accepted and had the most fun in life. Five years since meeting Michael, they broke up, mainly because of his cheating and her passion for work. Now a year later she is in a small town outside of Hertfordshire. Dani is off the rack, newly trained and ready to go out into the real world
