It'll be fine Bells, Andrew told his sister as they made their way to the airport. It had come as a surprise when their mother had phoned to say that she was taking a break from work and coming to visit. It seemed that she was also trying to recover from the divorce, but neither of the siblings were going to say anything. Andrew decided that he was going to drive, Bella's ashen complexion worrying him slightly. It had almost everything to do with the pregnancy, because it was common knowledge that their mother and Bella didn't have the best relationship. It also seemed that Bella had chosen the pub Kian worked at so that she could the moral support of having him around. Andrew had forgiven the guy for what he did to his sister, but it didn't mean they were all going to pow wow around a fire anytime soon.
Bella worried her bottom lip, already trying to figure out what she is going to tell her mother when they saw each other. She was showing slightly, at four months pregnant it wasn't much, but it was still there to cause suspicion. Her mom and her didn't get along so well, usually fighting about everything, but maybe she would have her mother's support in this. After all, she didn't see her mom for about a year. Flying home wasn't her scene, and so she usually just stayed at the College over holidays and finding something to do. With the arrival of the twins, her days had been filled, and she could easily just escape to take them of Kris's hands for a few hours. I hope so, she answered her twin, thinking that maybe, just maybe she would have her mother's support.
Andrew drew into the airport parking lot, and together they made their way to international arrivals. They were early, and they saw the Washington flight had been delayed by thirty minutes. Coffee? he asked Bella, and she only nodded in response. Leaving his sister at arrivals, Andrew went to find a cafe that actually sold good coffee. Twenty minutes later he was back, and he handed Bella the cup. Her hands shook slightly, and at the mass of people coming towards them, he guessed that the time had come for the bombshell. Their mother came towards them, but she looked well for someone who had gone through a messy divorce. Hey mom, he greeted with a warm smile and hug ready.
Bella had time to gather her thoughts while Andrew went to go look for coffee. She would wait until they were in the pub before saying anything. She needed Kian by her side, and she was glad that he knew about her mother's visit. Her father would be a bit harder to convince not to kill her boyfriend, but when he was making an appearance was unknown to most. Last time she had seen him was a few weeks after Dafydd's arrival a year ago. That was the scary thing, and she was basically estranged from her parents. She enjoyed the coffee, knowing Andrew had gotten it made the way she liked. The warmth seeped into her bones, and she gave him a wry smile. Bella was so lost in her thoughts, that she didn't notice her mom's arrival. She jumped slightly when Andrew suddenly got up and she saw her mom. I missed you, she said softly, tears of happiness actually welling up in her eyes. It was a tender moment when mother and daughter embraced each other, and it seemed that all was forgotten for a few moments.
The drive to the White Horse was filled with chatter as the three caught up. The pub was busy over the lunch rush, but they managed to find a table in the corner where it wasn't so busy. Bella waved at Kian, a smile already in place. She was glad that they had made up, and so was Andrew. He just wanted his sister happy, and Kian made her happy, then so be it. Anything interesting happen lately? their mother asked, and the twins glanced at each other. Oh the usual. Bella riding. More riding. School scandal. It never really changes, Andrew said quickly, a smile on his features.
