Lestat had been pleased to find out that the bookstore had opened in the town. Yeah, his Kindle was great, but there was nothing like a proper book in his hands. Medical journals didn't count, and those he still ordered, but he always wanted a novel or two when he actually had the chance to read. He didn't quite know when he did find time, as he loved his job a bit more than was healthy. As a doctor he was basically on call 24/7, Lestat wouldn't have it any other way, but he was also feeling the need to have a social life a lot more lately. He wanted a family, but for that he needed to get out and find the right girl.
Parking the truck, he entered the shop and greeted the staff on duty. His favourite sections were Fantasy and Sci Fiction, but he wanted something else for a change. Pet care was where he headed first, seeing that there were new books in on horse care and it always helped especially when it came to his three accident prone animals. His dog wasn't that big a problem, and Lestat always kept an eye on his colleagues puppies, hoping to find another one. When he had taken Buzz, he had found a gem of a Labrador and now he wanted to acquire another one. It was hard being an animal lover as well as a doctor, because time was so limited.
Lestat took a few books off the shelves as he browsed and headed to the armchairs, just to relax a bit and choose a book or two that was actually worth the price tag. It was rare for him to actually have time to relax, but it felt good to do so even though he knew he could get a call at any time to tell him to get to the hospital.

"Yes, I'll get on that as soon as possible Ms. Vaughan." Olivia smiled as she spoke into the phone to the flustered Maths teacher. Apparently, the new textbooks she'd been given were the wrong ones and she was now panicking as she had nothing to teach her class for the day. Olivia had offered to collect the correct ones for her, which she had managed to track down at the book store in town. The dark haired female listened for another minute while her colleague professed her thanks before Olivia interrupted, laughing in amusement. "I'm going to go and get them now Courtney, so you'll have them by the end of the day. See you later. Goodbye." she chuckled, hanging up the phone. After only two days on the job, Olivia had been run off her feet. She had no idea how Dafydd Rees had managed alone, but he'd done it damn well. The relief that radiated from him in the past two days was obvious though, and Olivia couldn't be happier with the fact that she was the one causing it. Bundling herself up tightly in a thick, knee length coat and wrapped in a woolen scarf, hat and gloves, Olivia popped her head into the adjacent office to hers. "I'm going out to get Courtney the correct textbooks, I should be back in about an hour or so. Anything you need me to do when I return, stick it on my desk." She beamed at the tired, but happy, principal. He nodded thankfully, and she raised a hand to wave at him and Kian Landeg who was sat in his office with him. What her two short days in Park taught her was that there were regulars always appearing in the office. Sometimes for trouble, other times just because they felt like seeing their beloved principal. She'd been initially startled by the stamped that had charged into his office on her first day, but soon got over it and was instantly introduced to the group. Kian had been one of those, and she'd been taken by the boy especially when he'd voluntarily told her of his past. She chose to walk into town, mainly because she enjoyed the cold weather currently covering Park. It gave her chance to think over the move, and to sort out a to-do-list. On top of said list was to hunt down both Sam and Summer. She'd had no time to see them since arriving yet, due to the hectic schedule and the fact that Sam had been sent away on some sort of job to another stables. Something about collecting and getting to know a new horse supposed to be arriving. Summer had also been busy, telling Olivia on the phone yesterday that they'd been swamped with work over the Halloween weekend. With Sam being back on Friday, and today being Wednesday, they'd decided to meet up that evening for a catch up. Olivia couldn't wait. Before she knew it, the pretty female found herself on the main street in town. Quaint shops lined the street, enticing her with window displays or sale signs. Focusing, she began to scan the signs for the bookstore. Warmth surrounded her as soon as she entered the store, causing her to shudder gently. The boy behind the desk looked up as she entered, a shy smile gracing his features as he recognized her. "Good afternoon Niall." she smiled back at him, chuckling when his cheeks flushed a little. Dafydd had filled her in about Niall's shy, reserved nature. Olivia had made it one of her goals to help him out of it a little, which Niall had agreed to eventually. "Do you have the textbooks?" she queried politely, knowing it had been him that she'd spoken to on the phone about them. "Yeah, they're out back. I'll go get them now." he replied, already heading out to the stock room. Olivia took the opportunity to look around the store for herself. In never hurt to have a novel she could turn to in her spare time. Heading directly over to the fantasy books she preferred, her oracles began to critically run over what was on offer. She knew she could be there for a while, due to the fact that her choice would have to be a perfect one.

Lestat paged through the few books he had, but nothing really captured his interest. It seemed that he would be heading back to his usual section of fantasy books, but even there the might not have been something. Getting out of the chair, he went to the fantasy books, but he was not alone. There was another woman there, also browsing the bookshelves. Lestat didn't recognise her, mainly because he knew most people in the town and college. There were a few that he saw to often, those that rode particularly wild horses or got into their fair share of bar fights. He did feel alone in the town, he had friends, but there was something more that he wanted out of life. Lestat wasn't the type for one night stands (easy to come by) or short term relationships. If he had anything going with anyone, then he was in it for the long haul.
Lestat watched the female in his periphrial vision, his curiosity increasing with each glance. He was shy in a way, as much confidence as he had when it came to his work, but he had certain issues when it came to talking to people of the opposite sex outside of the office. Hey, are you new in town? he finally asked the woman, curiosity more than overflowing in him now. She seemed like an interesting one, not purely British, he guessed. Lestat's eye caught a book that he had been looking for and he slipped it off the shelf. Now that was one that he was definitely taking. Blergh, but will get better =]
