The thunderous cascade of hooves rattled the area around them. The sun shone mercilessly over head, bathing their pelts in delicious heat. Spring was finally making an occurrence, it was evident in the weather, the behavior of animals and humans alike, and the blossoming of beautiful flowers. The distant bleating of new born lambs calling desperately to their mothers who must have strayed momentarily out of view. A broad black cranium snapped to the side as they sounded, curiosity crossing his handsome face. His attention was soon snapped to something else though. A petite blur of chestnut flew past him, closely followed by a gray and white painted mass. He let rip a whinny, before tossing his head and charging after his companions, throwing his hind legs out into an excited buck. The beautiful weather had obviously aroused their playful natures today, they'd been at their games since entering the pasture three hours ago. They seemed to have endless energy. Their other pasture mate stood in the farthest corner, an impassive expression on his elegant features. He wasn't one to join in on their games, but this didn't mean that the good weather hadn't effected him positively. Usually he'd be telling them off by now. Today, he just chose to ignore them. Much to the relief of Riddle, Whisper and Fade.
Their neighbours danced along the fence line of pastures, Oscar leading the way. As much as he loved being as close as possible to Casey, he still missed these games with Riddle and Whisper. He gave a snort of frustration as his chest hit the fence again. Riddle, noticing this, directed the game closer to Oscar. As she passed, her muzzle grazed his own and she did the same to Magick, who also seemed to be straining toward the game. Whisper whinnied to Magick's filly, Bianca, but didn't come any closer. Fade just continued to chase the faster pair, but did glance in the other horses direction. Oscar had enough and turned sharply before throwing himself into a swift canter, causing his limbs to shout at him in discomfort. He slowed as suddenly as he'd started the action, Casey close on his heels. He reached around to press his muzzle into hers, before getting distracted by the on coming sound of feet and tiny hooves. His audits perked in surprise, before picking up in a gentle trot toward the gate, to which his joints agreed with. He skirted carefully around Breeze, the newest mare to join himself and Harry's horses in the pastures. He snorted softly at her, his gentlemanly greeting something he shared with everyone and everything, before continuing his way toward his mistress whom was now coming into view.
Remii entered Lockwood stables with a spring in her step. She already felt today was going to be a good day, the gorgeous weather just confirmed it. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits, she received a few jolly 'Hello's' and polite, friendly smiles as she completed her duties this morning. Her five horses that resided in Campbell stables had already been put out into the pastures, early this morning. She'd checked on both Maggie, who was still showing no sign of going into labor any time soon, and Rowland, and now she was back. Her intentions were to take Rowland for a walk along to the pastures, so that he could meet her other horses. A few people had advised her against it, but sooner than you'd think, he'd be living with them all at Campbell anyway. Plus, the only one she was worried about him meeting was Flax, and he seemed to be in a pleasant mood today. Why not get him while he was in the right frame of mind to meet the young crossbreed. She made her way silently toward the chestnut's stall, peering into it. She was greeted by the inquisitive pink muzzle that she usually was, chuckling softly and pressing her lips to the velvet maw. He squealed in delight, causing her to laugh aloud. The sound was musical, something that had been so rarely heard lately. But this young colt had been the cause of it occurring much more often.
"Are you ready to go meet the big horses?" she cooed softly, reaching out for the small, bright yellow head collar. It was already getting to small for Rowland, and she mentally reminded herself to go to Hooves and Tails soon to buy a new one. She let herself into the stall, leaving it slightly ajar as she slipped it onto his head and did it up. Attached to it was a lengthy white lead rope. She ruffled his forelock and murmured her praise for him staying still as she placed the head collar on. He'd had it on a few times now, and they'd walked around the yard. To the pastures would be the longest, but Remii didn't think there would be any problems. Pushing the stall door open a little more, she clucked her tongue once and he followed obediently. At first, he skittered ahead a little, but not with too much strength that she hadn't lost control of him. They made their way through the barn, him nickering and snorting to the mares that looked over their stall doors to see who was passing, at an easy pace. As soon as they left the yard though, he returned to Remii's side, now nervous and unsure. As they walked, she murmured soft words of encouragement and coaxed him past things that startled him.
Slowly but surely, they made their way toward the pastures. Remii had strategically left Thyme in her room this morning, knowing he would just get in the way of the introductions. He didn't look best pleased, but it was necessary. She hated leaving him behind, as much as he hated being left behind. As they made their way further along the path, the sound of galloping became obvious. Remii focused on it briefly, identifying Whisper's heavy thuds with ease. She grinned, knowing that her three more energetic equines were playing. As usual. Rowland seemed to hear it too, his audits were perked in curiosity, his nares flared with anticipation. As they drew nearer, Oscar was the first to notice them. Remii grinned with pure delight, and her automatic response was to speed up. The dark bay thoroughbred cross was the one horse she could go to with what ever mood she was in. He seemed to calm her effortlessly, and she adored him for that. Though she shouldn't pick favorites, if she were to, Oscar would be it. Rowland followed Remii's lead and skittered after his mistress, following her toward the gate to Harry's pasture. Oscar reached out to snuffle at Remii's face, nuzzling into her neck affectionately. She giggled as his whiskers tickled her and pushed away his muzzle. Casey peeked from behind him, and she reached over to give her an affectionate pat. Oscar's attention had turned to Rowland, and the pair were eying each other through the fence. Oscar curiously, Rowland nervously.
Oscar had now reached over the fence as was nuzzling the youngster gently, causing a smile to break out over Remii's features. Rowland was relishing in the attention, thrilled to have made a new friend. Remii could see that her four other horses were waiting for the attention to turned to them, lined up against the adjoining fence somewhat patiently. "C'mon baby. There are more friends for you to meet." she told him softly, pulling on the lead rope. He followed reluctantly, but was pleased to see that Oscar was following them along the fence line, obviously not ready to leave his new friend again. Remii had a brief flash back of him doing exactly the same thing when he met Whisper for the first time. Speaking of Whisper, the large black brute had his neck outstretched as much as he possibly good, begging to gain some sort of contact with Remii. She reached out and ran her hand down the length of his head, chuckling when he sighed in relief. She walked herself and Rowland a little closer, her oracles landing on Flax. "Play nice." she warned the Chestnut Arabian, aware that he was edging closer and closer. Rowland was now in the process of meeting both Riddle and Whisper at the same time, the two excitable draft breeds falling over themselves to make friends. Fade had her muzzle resting in the crook of Remii's arm, but her eyes still remained on Flax. He was the only one who could turn this meeting sour.

Liam had sat through the banging of a horses hooves against metal since the mare had been fetched. Thankfully it was Connor that was towing the trailer, someone with greater nerves than he. The trip was quiet, he was taking in the surroundings, not that he would have talked much. He trusted his cousin's enough to actually speak to them, but his notepad held various scribbles of his as he had 'talked' with people. Talked in his own way of communication. It seemed almost impossible that he had left home five years ago, and as he thought, he fingered the black sleeves of his shirt. Sunglasses covered his blue eyes, and his hair was in the usual style. The tranquilizer had worn off a while ago, and since then it had been a non stop cachophony of metallic sounds. Finally, they parked by the stables and Liam got out, his worn sneakers silently hitting the ground. Simon had already put down the ramp, and the twins stood on either side of it. A white leg came flying out from the back. So much for kick bars, Connor grumbled, but Liam smiled, and went to his mare. Grabbing the lead rein he clucked to get her moving. A sharp nip reminded him who was boss, and Tears stepped daintily from the box. Her large draft horse frame was accompanied by a belting neigh, causing Liam to hiss softly. Jesse and Nikita, the two dogs sat patiently watching the scene. Simon offered to take Tears to the stall, but Liam shook his head. The mare wasn't one for confinement, as was only really stabled on cold nights. The rest of the time was outside. Leading the mare to the pastures, he passed several with fine looking horses, other with some sorry looking creatures, but each had a story to tell, and each was interesting. The navy blue head collar sat snugly on Tears' cranium, but her attitude was not so nice. She didn't like have Jesse, the Borzoi, running ahead of her, and Nikita behind. Her steps became erratic and she danced at the end of her lead rope. Passing a pasture with various horses, Liam looked at the sight of horses playing. For no reason at all, Tears burst out into a series of snorts followed by a loud bellow. Next thing Liam knew, the mare was on her hind legs, and pawing the air. Jerking on the rope, he got the mare to land for a second, and comforted her. The sight was soon clear to see. A foal was not to far away, and Tears wasn't big on the baby thing. She had had a foal when Liam got her, and the poor baby was promptly rejected by it's mother. Even the other mares' foals were in danger when Tears was near, as the mare would just attack, no matter what. Slowly, as the mare calmed down, he led her past, but she planted her feet and refused to move. Sneaking out her cranium, she stretched and tried to nip the girl that was holding the colt. Pulling on the rope again, Liam looked up, his face apologetic. How was he going to say sorry with his full with a finicky mare.
