Spencer had never been so cold in his life. He was shivering with the bitterness and bite of the room's temperature. But when he'd risen in bed to stand and change the room's thermostate, he's been overcome with a wave of dizziness. He lay back down, gently so that he wouldn't provoke a headache worse than the one he was starting to come to terms with. He let out a shaky breath, realizing that Ches was curled up by his side, purring loudly. She was warming up that side like a minature space heater. He raised his hand and stroked her head, which resulted in louder purring from the small black cat. He then turned his head to his nightstand, which had his clock perched on it and saw how early it was - almost two in the morning. This wasn't a good sign, he knew. It must be the beginnings of a long day of fighting this random sickness, which sounded just lovely. So, he grabbed his phone, quickly texting Jay, knowing that he'd be trying to sleep off the fever for the rest of the day, and he might as well tell his boyfriend where he'd be while he wasn't delerious and forgot.
Really sick today. Won't be in class today. Sorry if this wakes you, but thought I should do it while I was awake. <3
Next, he grabbed his iPod, plugging the earphones in and turning the device on. He let out a shaky breath, his chest feeling tight before he curled on his side around Ches, still shivering lightly. The cat started to warm up his abdomen, and he started to feel his eyes grow heavy, but the throbbing headache that signified fever grew. He sighed. It was going to be a long day. And he hated, just hated being sick. It made his throat hurt, his head want to crack, and his voice scratchy. There was no logic to why a person should become sick, he thought, bringing a hand to his aching head, and feeling the heat there that signified the fever even more. Hm. Maybe it would a few days before he got past this one... But no, he had to be better by tomorrow. He wouldn't let himself miss too many classes.

Jay blearily lifted his head from his pillow with a slight groan, disturbed from his slumber by his incessant chiming phone. He had always been a light sleeper, and even more so after taking Melissa under his wing. He never knew what she would be up to next, and had to be on high alert at all times. Even in his sleep. A red merle form beside him looked up just as tiredly, before curling back up tightly. Jay grunted as he hoisted himself up on his right elbow and reached out for his phone. He squinted immediately as the glare from the screen assaulted him, waiting a moment for his eyes to adjust. While he did, he was cursing softly under his breath. "Damn idiots waking me up at this hour, better be bloody important." he scowled deeply as his eyesight finally allowed him to see who the text was from.
He sat up straight away after he'd read the text from Spencer. The handsome male's features turned into a frown, Spencer was never sick. Ignoring the protests from a rapidly growing Cinnamon, Jay clambered over her and left the warmth of his bed. Cookie, who was used to his sudden departures by now, didn't even lift her head as he passed her. Still clad in his plain white t-shirt and gray sleeping bottoms, he vacated his room while mussing his fingers through his hair. If it had been anyone else, Jay would have never dared to leave the room looking like he did. But for Spencer, Jay didn't have to keep up a facade. He could truly be himself around his loved one, and right now Spencer was sick and Jay just needed to be with him. It was the least he could do, Spencer was always there for him while he was ill. Well, he was always there full stop.
Jay entered Spencer's room without knocking, neither he or Lissa ever did in Spencer's room. He kept his movements quiet, casting a glance toward the bed where Spencer was lain. It was obvious to the boy that he was not yet asleep, and Jay's features softened dramatically. "Spence?" he queried softly, walking into the room. A shiver immediately rocked his lithe frame, and his arms wrapped around himself protectively. "Christ Spencer, it's freezing in here." He murmured, turning up the thermostat to the left of him. After he'd done that, he made his way toward the bed where Cheshire had risen to greet him. He petted her gently before returning his attention to Spencer. His hand reached out and pressed against his loved ones forehead. A slight hiss left him as the heat coming from the taller male seeped through his skin. "Oh Spencer, your burning up." he muttered, withdrawing his hand. "I'll be back." He told him, leaning down to press a small kiss on Spencer's forehead and then making his way to the bathroom.
He emerged not five minutes later, clutching a wet flannel in one hand and a glass of water with two Tylenol in the other. "Could you sit up for a second, my love?" he asked, crouching down to be leveled with the bed. He then handed Spencer the pills and the glass of water. "As soon as you take those, you'll start to feel better. Then you can get some sleep." he assured him, running his hand up and down Spencer's arm in a soothing manner. Taking the glass from Spencer when he was done, and placing it on the bedside table, he helped the male lay back down and arranged the covers over him carefully. Cheshire had moved so that she could be between Jay and his position on the floor and Spencer's on the bed, butting her head into Jay's chest as he reached over to place the flannel on Spence's head. "That should cool you down a bit," he murmured. "You should get some sleep now." He told the male sternly, but clasped his hand with Spencer's and ran his thumb soothingly over the back of his hand. He knew that he wouldn't get much more, if any, sleep tonight. His concern at the moment was only Spencer.

The sound of his door opening made Spencer's eyes open wearily. His eyes focused on the curly-haired figure of his boyfriend through his tussled bangs. "'m sorry I woke you, baby." He murmured softly, his throat scratchy, voice raw. His eyes started to close, and at Jay's exclamation, he chuckled. "I've noticed." His body tremored with agreement, warding off the chill once again. He hadn't felt right last night; too hot. So he's risen the temperature to something colder than normal, when he should've suspected an oncoming sickness. But, he was so rarely ill, the thought of getting a cold, even a small one, was never really a concern to him.
He felt Jay's smooth palm on his forehead. He murmured in his throat appreciatively, pushing his head against his boyfriend's hand more. He blinked up at Jay when he removed his hand, frowning slightly at the loss of contact. Cheshire was watching the exchange through half-lidded eyes before letting loose a yawn, her ears being flattened to her head by the size of it. When the hand was replaced by Jay's lips, Spencer held himself back from leaning up to capture those lips with his own; the last thing he needed to do was make Jay sick. So instead, as the smaller male mad ehis way to the bathroom, he tugged out his headphones and placed thme on the bedside table once again. Then he let himself fall into the pillow again, closing his eyes once more as he waited for Jay to return.
When he heard the footfalls, with the step he'd come to memorize, he opened his eyes again and lifted up his head slightly. He eyed the two pills in Jay's hand, but obliged the smaller boy by rising up, fighting the dizziness the accompanied the movement, and took the water, and the pills, downing both in a swift swig. He sighed, and reached over to grasp Jay's hand on his arm, taking comfort in the feel of the familiarity of the movement. He let go as Jay made him lie back down and covered him up in the covers. The room was already warming, and he wasn't shivering as often, or as violently. He relaxed a bit as the cool fabric was laid on his forehead, then his brow furrowed slightly when he didn't feel Jay move toward him. A peek through one eyes reveled the boy sitting on the ground. With a huff of frustration, he told the dark-haired male, "You're not sitting on the floor." He tugged on his boyfriend's hand, shifting over to make room. Ches looked at her ill master, then at JAy, as though telling him to get a move on and lay down so that she could have more cuddles, thank you.

Jay just chuckled as he heard Spencer huff. He knew what was coming next, and it did instantly. He rose as his loved one tugged on his hand, obligingly slipping under the covers and placing one arm over Spencer's middle. Leaving just enough room for the spoiled Cheshire to curl up between them, he trained his oracles on Spencer's face. "Sleep now love, you'll hopefully feel a better in the morning." he murmured, placing another kiss on Spencer's cheek before turning his gaze on the wall. His hearing was trained on Spencer, waiting for his breathing to even out which would allow Jay to relax just that little bit. He wasn't lying when he said that he would get little sleep that night. He did in fact, get none. Every time Spencer stirred or even just moved, Jay's eyes would instantly flicker to his loved one with concern written plainly on his features. When not making sure that Spence was okay, he'd stare at the ceiling, retreating into his own mind. There wasn't much time Jay had to himself anymore, so he relished in the time to be alone with his thoughts. They strayed to many different things. First Melissa. An involuntary grin spread over his face when he thought of the other blonde that held a firm place in his heart. She had him firmly wrapped around her little finger. She could ask him anything, and he'd do it without question. She didn't seem to realize how much of a hold she had over him, of which he was pleased, but it was only a matter of time before she figured it out. Spencer sure had. Jay knew that she was one of his biggest weaknesses, and if anyone threatened his adopted daughter of sorts, they instantly faced the wrath of the ruthless curly headed male. His thoughts stayed with Melissa for a little while longer, a scowl now in place on his features. For weeks he'd heard the young female chatter about a new love interest. The over protective male had instantly been displeased with this revelation, and instantly found out as much as possible about this Josh. Though the male seemed to be harmless, Jay was always the more protective one over Melissa. Spencer was forever telling him off for being so. Jay was just concerned, he'd never seen Melissa so taken with someone. Not even that Freddie back in BRRA. With a sharp sigh, he dropped thoughts of the girl and they slipped to Spencer. He didn't need to get worked up at 4 in the morning. The scowl faded when Spencer invaded his thoughts, replaced by a happy smile. Since Spencer had arrived, it hadn't taken long for them to step back into their old routine. Jay was nowhere near as cold hearted as he used to be, and could be extremely pleasant to be around on occasions. He had Spencer, and also his dearest Melissa, to thank for that. Casting a fond glance at his loved one, he continued to reminisce memories of their relationship. Some good, some bad. All firm foundations as to who they were today. The sun had been hanging lazily in the sky for about an hour now, and Jay was yet to sleep. His mind must have run through every available topic, finally finishing with his problematic mare, Sandy. Truthfully, the palomino had been better behaved lately. He'd only been bitten once this week, which he saw as very much an improvement. He also found that she actually wanted to work, which was a change. She could be in the process of turning over a new leaf, but it could also be her devilish little mind at work, luring him into a false sense of security. His thoughts of his mare instantly evaporated as Spencer turned over and groaned a little. Jay's eyes flashed to him, seeing his loved ones eyelids flutter a little as if to open. When they did, Jay greeted him with a soft smile. "Good morning handsome. Feeling any better?" he greeted him quietly, his expression only holding concern. ** Not sure about this one.. -.-

Spencer slipped his arm around Jay, pulling him as close as the cat between them would allow. With his arm draper protectively over the smaller boy's chest, the blond teen fell gently into sleep, his body relaxing slowly. He sighed, the pounding in his head dimming as his thoughts turned to blackness.
But not complete blackness.
Spencer dreamed. Confusing dreams, dreams that were probably supposed to make him feel inspired, dreams about his life. But his favorite dreams involved Jay and Melissa.
There was Jay, glaring at him as he laughed off the boy's expression, pulling himself up on Crowley despite the fact he'd barely just recovered from his more-than-serious fall off of Flyte. And Melissa, her expression concentrated - a strange look on her - as she and that oh so ugly gelding of her's, Levi, leapt almost spectacularly over a jump in the show jumping ring under her father's intruction, with Spencer himself laughing and applauding her, bursting with pride for the girl he'd come to know as his daughter. Melissa and he ambushing an unsuspecting Jay outside of the boy's dorm room, Nerf guns clutched in their hands. Jay held in Spencer's arms as the credits of a movie drifted up the screen, his tired eyes barely registering anything beside the warm body he clutched to him like a lifeline. Jay practically having a damn argument with Ches over who got to have the seat next to him as they sat down with their Chinese take-out food, with the feline refusing to move over and let Jay sit by his boyfriend. Jay in the audience as Spencer and Melissa recieved a standing ovation at a performance months ago, Spencer feeling like Melissa had been the star, even if he'd gotten the main role. Melissa giving some homophobe a snarky comment that left them looking like they'd been slapped in the face, with Jay and he snickering in the background. Strolling down the hall with his boyfriend, hands holding the other's as they talked of other, lesser things. Jay grabbing his shirt collar and dragging him down to meet the smaller man's lips.
Spencer awoke with that dream still echoing in his mind, and Jay's voice ringing softly in his ears. He gazed up at the boy, feeling a bit better - good enoguh to move around, maybe, but he really didn't feel like he should go to class. Still instead of answering Jay, he reached up to cup the face of the curly-haired Australian. "I adore you.", he whispered, a soft smile on his lips and his thumb rubbed over the soft skin.

Jay rolled his eyes as his question was completely disregarded, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "And I you, Spencer." he chuckled softly, leaning into his blonde haired boyfriend's hands. He lifted himself a little and quickly turned the tables by rolling Spencer onto his back and straddling the taller males hips. "I know your sick and everything, but we so haven't had any alone time in weeks..." he trailed off suggestively, pressing a light kiss on Spencer's collar bone. His lips trailed up the side of the handsome male's neck, before ghosting along his jaw. Coming to a stop at Spencer's ear, he nipped the lobe gently before whispering, "And you know how much I enjoy our alone time." He smirked before bringing his lips back to Spencer's. Hovering briefly above them, his breaths coming out harshly, he locked oracles with Spencer's before crashing his lips against the blue eyed adonis's. Screw getting sick.
The kiss grew passionate in no time, as their kisses usually did. He held onto the feeling as long as he possibly could before needing to breath, and even then he pressed chaste, promising kisses along Spencer's jaw and neck as he tried to regain control of his racing heart and pounding lungs. Even after so long, Spencer affected him the same way he had when they'd first met. A smile pulled at his lips as he thought of their first meeting, the instant attraction jolting through the two males. They'd been drawn together, and after one little mishap that Jay often refused to think of, they were back together once again. He had no idea what he'd do without Spencer, and suddenly felt the need to tell him so. "I'm so glad we found one another again," he murmured into the skin of his boyfriends neck. "I have no idea what i'd be like right now if we hadn't." he finished, a slight air of sadness in his words. A shudder crawled up his spine, causing the hairs on his arms to stand up in surprise. He hated thinking about what could have happened. Pushing away the nasty thoughts, he looked up to meet Spencer's eyes. "I love you so much." he told him, before pressing kisses onto either of his cheeks, the top of his nose, his forehead and finally ending up at Spencer's lips. "So, so much." he murmured between kisses. If only they were able to do this forever.
