PERSONALITY: Vanquish has a docile temperament which is seemingly rare in the Arabian breed, especially for a stallion. Obviously determined to prove the stereotypes wrong, Vanquish has much more of a dog like personality to a horse. He loves to be fussed, and enjoys lying peacefully in his stall with Caleb beside him. He's the horse Caleb will go to first if he wants quiet time to read a book and relish in silence. He's a very affectionate equine, and likes to establish physical contact quickly with humans and other horses. He doesn't have violent, territorial outbursts like other stallions and is happy to play the submissive when in the pastures. He really is a pleasure to be around.
To ride, he is an absolute pleasure. He focuses quickly, and enjoys the atmosphere of a competition. He has beautiful movements and knows when to show off and when to tone it down. He was a very sought after horse, and still is, before Caleb managed to buy him. There are always people calling up wanting to buy him, or have him put to stud with their mares. He's always one to watch, and many people have turned up to competitions when they hear that Caleb is competing on Vanquish. It's actually quite a rare event.
HISTORY: Caleb came across Vanquish purely by accident. He'd been attending a riding lesson on his other horse when he'd overheard an elderly lady talking about Vanquish. Perking his interest when the lady mentioned the horses nature and breed, Caleb knew that he had to visit the horse. So he did so, asking the lady if she wouldn't mind him tagging along to visit the horse. She agreed instantly, wanting any chance to show of the beautiful horse before she had to sell him off for she was growing too old to care for him herself.
As soon as Caleb set eyes on the horse, he knew he had to have him. Luckily, the woman completely agreed when she saw how the pair interacted. Although Vanquish was an expensive buy, the woman broke a deal with the young boy. Until the day she died, she would receive half of every stud fee Caleb earned from the horse and exchange she would half the price. Caleb had agreed readily, knowing he couldn't pass up on this opportunity. That had been two years ago now, Vanquish had been put to stud on numerous occasions. Caleb and the horses previous owner are still on very good terms, and she visited the horse a lot while still in Russia. She has even organized to come and see Vanquish next year some time. Caleb is just happy to have the handsome brute and be able to call him his horse.
