PERSONALITY: Acquaintances would describe him as aloof, arrogant and cold. Friends, aloof but fiercely loyal and protective. Enemies? Arrogant, sly, cold and harsh. Lovers? Compassionate, loving yet distant. Caleb is many things, but nobody can ever seem to come to a conclusion on his actual personality. Why? Because he never shows it all. In fact, if he can help it, he'd rather not show his pleasant side at all. Of course, there are some people he'd never be able to hide it from. Such as best friends or the current girlfriend. But even to them, he's a mystery. He's the sort of person that will sit in the background, remain silent but everyone still knows he's there.
Cale will not speak around other people unless he feels like it, you can expect him to ignore others questions without a second thought. He believes that there is no need to fill the room with mindless chatter when you can relish in the silence. He can be found sometimes speaking to Jake, his dog, and his horses, but other than that he's usually silent. He's also a master of controlling his expressions, not letting anyone in on what he's truly feeling. He doesn't like showing emotions such as sadness or anger. He does often had a slight smirk on his lips though, as if he finds everything amusing. Truthfully, he usually does. He mentally scoffs at the way people interact, and the sarcastic smirk is always in place due to this.
Caleb is intelligent, and he knows it. He'll go to lessons, sit back with his feet on the desk and appear to be not listening. Teachers have fallen into the trap on numerous occasions, thinking they can catch him out and fire off a question that they are sure he hasn't heard the answer of. He surprises them every time, rattling off the exact answer with additional information that nobody else in the class would know. As a youngster, his father had forced him to study constantly. In effect, he has a much broader range of knowledge than others his age. Even now, he'd much rather have his nose buried in a book than joining in the pointless gossip and antics of the other students.
To his friends, he is extremely loyal and protective. With expressions of fury that could cut through glass, he rarely has to use vocals to warn off someone who has offended himself or his friends. He's not afraid to use his fists either, and is very well known for his brawls around school. It's not unusual for him to come into lessons with cuts on his knuckles, bruising in various places or a bloody nose. He'll refuse to get medical help too, preferring to deal with it himself or occasionally allowing a close friend to do so. Around his friends, he'll open up a little. His sense of humor is infamous, heard of being dry and sarcastic and even a little bit dark. It's so rarely shown though, that nobody's really sure.
Within a relationship, although he's not exactly huge on affection such as giving gifts and the snuggling thing, he is nothing but loyal. He can be somewhat possessive, and doesn't take lightly on wandering eyes. He will make it very known that whoever he's with, is his alone. He wouldn't say he really had a type, but he does like to have someone who can match his intelligence and won't back down from his cold exterior. He doesn't like the girls who try to get him to 'change' and become the 'perfect' boyfriend. They are dropped as fast as possible. He has a certain fondness for the one night stands and short term relationships, but it isn't unheard of for him to have a long term one. Even if it has only happened twice, with the same girl.
The only time he'll ever let his walls down is when he's alone with his pets. His dog, Jake, is probably the only living creature that has seen the sweetest and warmer side of Cale's personality. The two are inseparable, and Caleb even insists that the dog attend his lessons with him. Many teachers hate this, and will refuse to do so. Caleb just chooses not to attend said lessons in retaliation. Around his horses, he's a little more collected. This is due to the fact that there is usually others around while he's with them in the barns or arenas, but while in the pastures with them he behaves like he does with Jake, comfortable and relaxed with himself.
BACKGROUND: Caleb Andreev was born in New York to his Russian mother and American father. His mother, at only 22, was ecstatic with her new little boy. His father? Honestly couldn't care less. At 57, with three previous failed marriages under his belt and 5 other children, Caleb was just another burden. With that, it was determined that Caleb would take his mothers last name, due to the fact that she and his father were not married as of yet. His father, who was away often on business, was a notorious love rat. With a high profile career as a top shot lawyer, his antics were often splashed over the newspapers. At first, Caleb's mother chose to ignore it. She remained the doting fiancée, which she was now due to the fact that his father had proposed when Caleb was seven to throw the tabloids off his trail.
Eventually, Caleb's parents married. Caleb had been eight, and had flat out refused to attend the ceremony. He despised his father, even if he was still very young he understood what his father had done. He kept his mothers last name, and began to refer to his father by his first name of Malcolm, or just 'him'. His mother was growing more and more upset with the behavior, and chose to send Caleb away for a while to live with an older sister. Caleb did not mind, he enjoyed his older sister Leanne. He lived there until he turned thirteen, though still spending a lot of time with his mother when she visited and staying with her when Malcolm was away.
The quiet male finally moved back in with his parents just after his thirteenth birthday, with the promise of equine company due to the fact that his sister had introduced him to the wonders of horses. All was peaceful for a year, Caleb had even began to enjoy being back at home. Of course, the peace was soon shattered. His father was up to his old tricks again, cheating on his mother with pretty much anything that moved. This was the last straw for the young boy, who now fourteen was growing into his somewhat lanky body and forming an underestimated strength. He lashed out at his father, causing a broken nose and two ribs, as well as a black eye. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't proud of it.
This was also the last straw for his long suffering mother. She filed for divorce, and she and Caleb fled to Russia to be with her parents. Caleb couldn't have been happier. During their stint in Russia, the young man developed his love for equines even further and bought two of his own. He also stumbled across Jake, who he became utterly smitten with. He also developed a certain interest in the opposite sex. From the ages of fourteen to sixteen, he remained in the same relationship with Una, a girl he was positive he'd fallen hard for. They had brief break ups in between, but then there had been a huge bust up three months after Caleb's sixteenth birthday and they separated for a further seven months. During those months, Caleb relished in his freedom. He enjoyed it for everything it was worth, and even developed quite the fan club. When asked about it, he'd just flash his signature smirk.
Eventually he returned to Una not long before his seventeenth birthday. They were like magnets to one another, unable to stay away for longer than the seven months that had already passed. There was disappointing for the female population of his small town, and a sigh of relief from the males. Up until two months ago, the pair remained together. But then, Caleb's mother was offered a job. In England. She had to take it, she and her son were falling a little low on cash and Malcolm was not providing near enough money as he should be. His mother accepted, and Caleb found himself making one of the hardest decisions of his life. Leaving Una had been devastating for him, but both knew that they couldn't deal with long distance. It wasn't in their personalities. Parting on good terms, Caleb found himself faced with a new life in the UK.
Finally, after two months of settling in, Caleb has been able to enroll into Park Equine College. His mother, who was now working in London, knew it would be better for her son to attend the college. Caleb's just happy that he can bring his most beloved treasures, Jake and the horses. The mysterious young man is sure to cook up a storm with his arrival. How will the students and staff of Park Equine college react? Only time will tell.
MISC.: Is short sighted, and has to wear glasses most of the time.
JAKE. Jake is a gorgeous male Rottweiler cross Akita. He is around six years of age, though Caleb isn't 100% sure. The large canine has a wonderful nature, extremely playful and loving. He wouldn't hurt a fly, although many people are intimidated by his sheer mass. Caleb doesn't bother to assure people otherwise, they either make the effort to find out whether Jake is friendly or not, who was he to interfere? He's happy to have Jake all to himself. The pair are inseparable, and it's safe to assume that if Caleb is without Jake or Jake without Caleb, there is something physically wrong with one of them.
