FULL NAME: Niall Christopher Bach
NICKNAMES: Niall
AGE: Eighteen
GENDER: Male
ETHNICITY: 1/2 Welsh, 1/2 Irish
STUDENT OR STAFF: Student
HALL: Ashton
PERSONALITY:
Niall is a quiet fellow who can come across as fairly cold when you first meet him. He's the sort of guy that will hang around in the background, only coming forward when he's forced to. It's not that he's shy, nor unfriendly, just a little unsure of himself. His social skills aren't the greatest, but he tries his best. He's the sort of person that needs reassurance that he isn't annoying anyone, who looks around nervously for any sign of discomfort within his company. It can be annoying, but also endearing at the same time. He has the nervous habit of wringing his hands, and also biting his lip when in larger crowds or within a conflict. He tends to disappear from sight at any sign of anger.
When comfortable with someone, he becomes a whole different person. He seems to forget himself, becoming much more fun loving and relaxed. He's got a cheeky side, which is only really ever shown to Ruthie. He is a lot more talkative and stops worrying about what other people think of him and if their okay. Any sign of an unfamiliar person or an acquaintance, he immediately becomes on edge once again and retreats into the protective walls he has up around him. He does have a tendency to do whatever is asked of him though, no matter how ridiculous the task. People tend to take advantage of this, but yet he still won't say no.
One huge flaw in his personality is that he is quite a jealous person. He doesn't always show it, unless it comes to Ruthie. In fact, he can barely ever hide anything he feels about her. He dislikes having her attention taken from him, yet she barely ever seems to notice the fact. Ieuan does though, as does Kian. The pair torment him mercilessly about it, and purposely snatch her attention from him when their all together. They are the only two he's got into some sort of argument with, ever. The jealousy can spread to many things, but usually it centers around Ruthie. He just can't help himself. Probably due to the fact that he's been in love with her for years now, and she seems to be the only one who hasn't noticed.
Niall is relatively intelligent, but it takes a lot of hard work for him to keep up in school. He's often found in the library, books spread out all around him. He does excel at English though, and adores the subject. He loves the creative side of it, and also books are a passion of his. He almost always has a book tucked under his arm wherever he goes. Subjects such as Maths and Science do not come as easy though, and he has always struggled. Thankfully, there is always Ruthie to help him.
He's quite a pessimistic person, and tends to look on the bleaker side of things instead of the brighter. He will keep his problems to himself too, and is most definitely a suffer in silence sort of person. He'll open up if forced too, but is never happy about it. His parents have tried to help him with it for years, to no avail. He doesn't like to burden others with his problems. He's a good listener to those he's close too though, and also has some good advice when he wants to part with it. He doesn't do well with crying people though, and gets a little freaked out. He becomes extremely awkward, makes a stupid joke and flees. His closer friends find this hilarious.
BACKGROUND:
Born to a Welsh father and Irish mother, Niall was born in the small town of Pembrokeshire, West Wales. The youngster had a relatively normal life. His father owned a fish and chip shop, his mother a florist. He'd spend most of his time throughout the day, and on the evenings and weekends when he started school. The nervous male didn't really enjoy school, but he didn't hate it either. He tended to keep himself to himself, unless asked by his peers to do something. He had his fair share of tormentors who took advantage of his giving and helpful nature, but he also had just as many friends.
Then, one day, a certain blonde haired female turned up and changed his life. School became a much more pleasant experience for the male, and he and Ruth became thick as thieves. His young mind didn't process how much he liked her until he turned fifteen though. Ever since then, Niall has had to come to terms with the fact that he loves Ruthie, but is unable to do anything about it. He's had to see her go through relationships with other boys, and remained silent. As stated before though, it was obvious to everyone except Ruth herself. No matter how many times friends tried to get him to confess his feelings, he still held back. For fear that he'd ruin their friendship. And that's where he finds himself today, permanently jealous of anyone who ever manages to get closer to the girl than he.
Ruthie and Niall are now coming to Park, due to the fact many of Ruth's 'family' members attend the school. He and the girl he adores will come face to face with Dafydd, Ieuan and Kian all over again. And Niall is preparing himself to try and control his jealous feelings toward Ieuan, who has an extremely close relationship with Ruth himself. Though he is looking forward to it, he's also dreading it in a sense. Who knows what else will come between him and his feelings. At least he'll be able to improve his riding while at the college. The Western discipline rider hasn't been on horse back much over the past year, too worried about Ruth and her injuries. He can't wait to get back into the saddle.
MISC.: Is extremely claustrophobic and has to have every door and windows of the room he's in, open.
