• I WANT YOUR HORROR I WANT YOUR DESIGN CAUSE YOU'RE A CRIMINAL • YOU AND ME COULD WRITE A* - - - BAD ROMANCE Gareth had started class that day, and now he had a pile of work to catch up on. The best place to work was the library, because if he was in his room then he would start despairing over the state of his of his clothing. His move to the College had meant that he had to down sized dramatically, and now all he wanted to do was go shopping and waste money on items that was going to end up to be 'so last season' by the winter. Making his way through the building was not that hard, but he had taken various wrong turns through out the day and it was going to be obvious that he would do so on the way to the library. He looked fairly happy as he got lost, a grin on his face. Finally, he managed to reach the room, and first admired the arcitectual design of the front doors.
There was a shift in the weather, and many students were making use of it by going riding. That would explain the absence of figures in the very large room, and why Gareth took the best spot in his opinion. It was by a window, sun rays falling on the table and a view on the paddocks in the distance. Picturesque was one way of describing it. He took out his art text book, and paged to the chapter of Impressionism that the class had started beginning of the term. His first task was to write an essay on a chosen Impressionist artist. Thinking a moment, he went to the shelves containing the art books. Degas was who had popped into his mind and he pulled out a few reference books on the artist.
Gareth took out his notebook, and started making key points on Degas. In capital letters at the top of the page, he wrote: At the Races!. The painting was a famous one, but it was also the one that had horses in it. It would be on his cover page, and then he started listing more painting names that he could find. The topic list said that he should mention color, tone and style as well. The teacher sure was specific when it came what she wanted.

It was almost ironic that Chris was in Psychology given his present state of mind. His eyes scanned the rows of titles, the dark circles beneath his oracles more prominant than usual. His hair was a scruffy mess and his flannel shirt was wrinkled, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his right wrist wrapped in a bandage from his latest razor adventure. The left was inflamed.
It was a pleasant day outside, but that only meant that people would be out all over the course, and Chris needed to work on school. His Psychology class was thankfully mediocre in busywork, as opposed to his Advanced History classes. He already has three books on Medieval Ages and American Army Calvary. His thin form seemed to bend under the weight of the pages, his eyes drooping a little tiredly as he tugged a Psychology book on body language off the shelf.
He felt his baggy jeans were slung around his waist in a way that made them seem even larger on him as he moved to the study area of the library, warily running his eyes over the tables as he caught sight of the new boy, Gareth. He was surprised he had cared to remember the teenager's name, but decided not to bother himself with it. It's not like it mattered, but he might as well keep up this new reaching out thing and give sitting and studying with the new kid a try. After all, he knew how awkward it was to be on the outskirts of society... And he knew the consequences. He shifted his bandaged wrist to feel the cotton dig into the severed flesh. He shivered at the scratchy, uncomfortable sensation and took a few steps forward toward the male.
"Hey." He greeted in his soft, accented monotone. "Remember me? I'm Chris? Mind if I study with you? It's better than being left to my thoughts." Having said the words he lifted up his left hand to play with the cotton on his arm, the movement subconscious, like Chris had had cotton on him so much it was a toy he could play with at all times. His eyes, dark and rimmed with bruise-like patterns watched Gareth with a cautious and reserved fashion, like a beaten dog unsure of who to trust, but willing to try. |

Granted it was fall, but it was a very nice fall day. He ended up looking outside, a dreamy look on his face as he watched the scenery and activities going on outside the four walls of school. He knew why he wasn't outside. His workaholic majority of his brain was demanding that he put work before pleasure. That pleasure would be taking Flit out for a run around the cross country course or browsing the latest Mark Jacobs collection. If only he could afford the new collection, oh how his heart ached. Wrenching himself from the window, Gareth closed the one book on Degas and opened the next. This was not his ideal time spender... No wait, it was actually, but he wasn't in the mood to work.
About five minutes into the new book, someone came up to him, and he was glad to see that it was Chris. "Oh hi. Of course I remember you, and please take a seat. I might just have burned this art if I was left alone a few minutes longer," he replied with a smile, indicating the chair that was next to him. Gareth looked at the textbook in Chris's arms. Psychology. So the College gave it as a subject, but honestly, he may have made a friend in Chris and wasn't going to push him on the fact that he also maybe needed help in that direction. "How are you today?" he asked, wondering if it had been a good day or bad day for the handsome male. It was just like Gareth to have already classed the people he knew into categories.
Gareth closed the art book, and looked at Chris with friendly interest. Frankly the male had more interest than notes on Degas.
