The weather was fine. The school work was fine. Even the people were... well, not fine, but okay. The start to the term was hell. If people had the ability to see moods in terms of weather, then his would be a dark storm cloud, thunder and lightning brewing and the occasional splattering of rain. If you hadn't noticed that Alex was in a bad mood, then you would when talking with him. Oh he was ready to break a few kneecaps, mainly those belonging to a certain Kian Landeg. His best friend, basically his sister, was going to be a mother, and all because her boyfriend couldn't keep it in his pants. Yeah yeah, he knew that she consented it, but that was no bloody excuse. What was this? The 1930's?! Along with Casey, Alex settled himself at a table in the far corner of the cafeteria. It wasn't occupied because there was no human presence that he could feel. The room was more crowded towards the center, mainly people trying to get to the in crowd, but he really couldn't care less what his fellow students were trying to achieve. His main focus was Bella, but she was avoiding people like the plague. She had almost never ignored him, except when he had said something and she was furious. Those silences lasted four hours at the most, not weeks. He had to hear it from Kristin, and that was even worse. That Bella didn't trust him. Alexi couldn't eat. He wasn't remotely hungry, but he fed Casey. The whispers came easily to his ears, and he was thankful that not one of the rumours going around had Bella involved just yet. Give it time and it would, but not yet. The cafeteria had a variety of smells. Some were mouth watering and others not so much, but they couldn't give him the answers to his questions. Life, he decided, was a complicated business.

Clary scowled as Jonah Weaver managed to get the upper hand briefly during their sparring match. He was getting good, she should have been proud as a teacher but she found it irritating. Seeing that he was growing a little cocky when he realized his advance in the match, Clary quickly struck him down. With a grunt, he fell to the ground but there was a smirk tugging at his lips. Clary chuckled a little, offering her hand out to help him up. "You're getting better, Weaver. I hate to admit it, but soon you'll have a chance in beating me." she admitted begrudgingly. Jonah laughed out right, clapping her on the shoulder as he passed by to pick up his bag and leave the studio. "I'm flattered, Clarissa. That is the nicest thing you've ever said to me." she grinned, taping up her knuckles tighter as she felt a familiar ache in them.
"I'll be here after lunch, if you want a rematch. Mr. Winters is going to come watch me work today, he'd probably give us extra credit for working together." she told Jonah as they left the sports center, heading toward the cafeteria. Jonah nodded, knowing that neither of them really needed the extra marks but it would look good. "Alright, i'll see you later Clary." he told her, diverting his route to the dorms so he could check on his dogs. "I'll check on the pups too!" he called over his shoulder, as if sensing what the red headed female was going to ask. "Thanks!" she called back, straightening her stance as she pushed her way through the double doors of the cafeteria and allowing the overwhelming scent of various foods to assault her.
Her nose scrunched in disgust as she looked at the greasy pizza in front of her. Recoiling as hands reached out to grab the food, Clary quickly squeezed through the group of rambunctious teenage males and effortlessly grabbed a salad a little further down from the hot meals. Picking up two bottles of water as well, she carried her lunch over to the cashier and paid swiftly. Glancing around the cafeteria critically, she frowned. It was extremely busy, the popular tables over flowing with wannabe's and their hierarchy. Clary made a noise of disgust, skirting around the busier groups and making his way to a less crowded area. She looked around and suddenly spotted an empty table, except for one person. Clary recognized the boy instantly, and couldn't decide whether to grin in pleasure at the sight, or frown due to the confusion of being so pleased to see Alexi. Choosing to frown, as it seemed to be a more natural expression for her, she carried herself gracefully toward his table.
"Good afternoon Alexi." she offered in greeting as she sat down, her tone soft and reasonably pleasant. Sure, they hadn't started off so well, but Clary couldn't help but like the male. She gave a tentative smile, knowing he couldn't see it but not caring anyway. Glancing down at Casey, she greeted the dog in a similar manner. Finally, as her attention returned to the boy her expression turned to a frown. She took in the angry aura that surrounded the boy, but he also gave off waves that led Clary to believe that he was fed-up. "Wanna talk about it?" she asked, before digging her fork into one of the cherry tomatoes in her salad. Popping it into her mouth, she chewed on it slowly as she looked at Alexi expectantly, wondering if he'd elaborate or not.

Alexi knew that he had to relax, this stress and anger was not good for him, much less Casey who was picking up on his state of mind. He slowed his breathing, and loosened his muscles to an extent that was actually starting help him relax. The tension had not completely left him, but rather ebbed slightly. There was constant sounds that he picked up on, but none bothered him too much. After all, none actually stopped by him to indicate anybody that he knew was there. The few people he did know were currently somewhere in the barns or in the dorms. Andrew would be seething in his dorm, Bella with Danger's new foal and Kian, well he would hopefully be where Bella was, but this time round it wouldn't be odd to find him in his room, joining Andrew in the blame process. Casey barked once, indicating that they had company, and Alex looked up in a general direction, a quizzical look on his face. The voice that greeted him brought a smile on his face, and he searched with futile hope, because he would never be able to see what she looked like with his own eyes. Just imagine an image of his favourite red head looked like. Hey Clary, he greeted, hearing the faint sound of a bench moving across from him. Now this was going to be interesting, because they hadn't had the best start to their acquaintance that day in the barns, and the holidays had started before they could get to know each other better. Opening his bottle of water, he sipped some of the cool liquid before hearing the question. Was he exuding that much anger? Just some friendship issues that are going to take a while to clear up, he answered, not going to spill Bella's secret. So far the whole group had been able to dodge any form of rumours being spread in the school, but Bella's condition wasn't going to be so easily hidden in a few months. Then nobody would be so interested, at least Alex hoped so, otherwise all hell was going to break loose. He had been through the car accident aftermath, her parents divorce and change of country. Alex wasn't about to lose his best friend because of something that had changed her entire life. How was your holiday? Alexi asked, just to break the silence.
