PLAY BY: Miranda Cosgrove
FULL NAME: Remii Yvonne Locke
NICK NAMES: Just Remii to everyone except her grandfather. Her grandfather calls her Locket.
AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
ETHNICITY: Irish American
STUDENT OR STAFF: Student
HALL: Ashton
PERSONALITY:
✘Possessive
Remii believes that what is hers, nobody can touch. Be it an animal, or just a notebook, they are her things and hers alone. She has a canine which she never lets anyone touch, and also a plush giraffe which she hasn't let go of since she was two. It is the only thing that reminds her of her grandfather. Yes, it may seem rude and many have taunted her with this fact, but she can't change. It seems impossible for her to do so.
✘Schizophrenic
Okay, so it's not the full on kind, just mild. She does hallucinate regularly, and doesn't like it to be a known fact to people, so if she runs away to be alone, it is best to leave her that way. She has major mood swings and it is often difficult for her to put across her true emotions. This frustrates her, and she knows she just needs the right person to be able to understand her. The closest she has to that is her dog. She is also unable to think rationally at times, and sort of gives up in lessons on occasions. Most teachers are understanding, but a few lose their cool with her. This upsets her and usually ends up with her storming from the classroom. This can also make her act childish at times, covering her ears and speaking over whoever is talking if she doesn't want to hear something. This doesn't happen often, but it is best to just leave her alone when she does this, as she will lash out if you get too much for her.
✘Silent
She doesn't speak. It is not that she can't, it's that she wont. She'll speak sometimes, if it is most important and this is usually with her social worker. But, her face is very expressive, there is often no need for her to talk. Also, there are times when you can catch her babbling to herself about nothing in particular, or Thyme and her horses. These words make no sense what so ever, and she often doesn't recall saying them. If someone tells her she has said something, she'll deny it and if they insist, she shall once again lash out. She doesn't like to be challenged, and instead of telling you off with words like a teenager would, she uses actions like a child. If she does offer you a sentence or even a word, do not expect another response. It will not come unless she trusts you, or is growing fond of you.
✘Intelligent
She is clever, there is no denying it. She can grab an answer from the top of her head no problem. They just seem to be planted there for her to use. She doesn't flaunt it, she doesn't pursue it, she doesn't want to be known as the smart crazy kid. It is bad enough being known as insane, freakishly clever won't add to her popularity. Though, not that she really wants it anyway. She's happy to do the work, hand it in and no more is said.
✘Caring
You can see this with the work she has put in with her horses that she has a big heart. Loyalty and trust, which often come along with Caring, doesn't exist within the girl. Even if she likes her social worker, she doesn't trust her at all. But caring is very evident in the girl. If she sees someone has hurt themselves and nobody else is around, she will go and see if they are okay. And if they need some help, she will offer it. Animals is where it shines most, Thyme and her horses are spoiled rotten and always get the best care, but she makes sure they are fit and healthy. That is proper caring for.
BACKGROUND:
✘Pre Blue Ridge Academy
Yes, you may think this is the clichéd orphan story, but this youngster has never had it easy. As a baby, she was deprived of attention until her grandfather came to visit. He lived in Ireland, and only made it over every three months to visit his grand daughter. Then, when she turned two, her parents gave her up to social services. They had never really wanted her anyway, just the money benefits her existence got her. They lived with their heads in the clouds, and moved where they pleased. She just held them back. She grew up with one source of comfort, a plush giraffe from her grandfather. She had no doubt that her parents had told him she had died, the easiest way in getting rid of her existence.
You'd expect a two year old girl to be snapped up for adoption, it wasn't the case for the Irish originate female. She stayed at the foster home until she turned twelve. During this time, she became more and more drawn into herself. She hardly spoke, nothing made her smile, and her emotions were all over the place. She began to hallucinate, shouting and screaming at objects nobody else could see. She was taken to a therapist, who informed her carers that she had Schizophrenia, but only a mild case. This worried the carers, and she was finally assigned a social worker and sent to boarding school for two years. There she discovered horses. One girl, whom she had grown to tolerate, offered her the chance to come to her house in the summer holidays for two weeks. This girl had horses, and Remii had fallen in love with the elegant species. This would be the first time she had ever ridden. When she got back to the school after the summer holidays, and expressed her new love to her social worker. The woman, so impressed by the emotion drawn out of the girl by the meer word "horses" made her determined to get the girl into riding lessons.
This was the only thing that made her happy, keeping her from residing further into her shell. She even managed to gain two horses. Neither of which are exactly champions, and both came from abusive pasts, Remii has worked so hard to get them to what they are now. She was determined to do everything herself, from making them healthy again to breaking them. She obviously got thrown, not being the most advanced rider herself, and broke a few bones, but it was worth it. Her hallucinations and mood swings lessened, only showing up every now and then. She still refuses to speak most of the time, maybe offering a few words here and there, and doesn't like to be around people at all and has obvious personal space issues. Another thing that she has that makes her extremely happy is her dog. A rare breed, named the Sage Koochee, Thyme has been with Remii since he was just a pup. She had no idea what breed he was, but she found him on the street. She had been smuggling him into her room at boarding school for about a year until a student snitched on her. Luckily, her social worker had made a deal with the school to let her keep him. Thyme became a sort of mascot to the dorms where Remii resided in. His breed was eventually discovered when she took him to the vets when he had a leg injury, and even the vet had expressed his surprise in seeing the breed. He had never seen one in his thirty years as a trained veterinarian. Sadly, Remii had to leave her boarding school as she had grown too old for it. Her social worker has been trying her hardest to find an academy which will accommodate her and her animals.
She likes to control what she eats, has done since the age of seven. As everything else in her life is decided by other people, this makes her feel as if she has a little control over something. This is how she is so skinny. She also used to have a little muscle from when she started riding, but it rapidly began to fade away. She makes sure to wear clothes which don't draw too much attention to her sunken in stomach and bony arms and legs. She puts up the facade that she is okay, when she really isn't.
A most recent part to Remii's history is the fact that her father had tried to get in touch again. Apparently, her mother had run away with another guy, and her father wanted her back. Probably to look after him and cook for him. She refused to go back to the man that had rejected her so many years ago, utterly confused how he could be related to her grandfather. Her father was just a pathetic bum. Now, at the academy with her entourage of animals, she hopes to finally settle in one place to finish her schooling. She has no desire to make friends, but may earn a few acquaintances along the way. Being a first year, she has a long time to go without a human companion.
✘At the Academy
During her stay at Blue Ridge academy, Remii came out of her shell. She gained two new horses, both of which came on in leaps and bounds. And she gained a best friend. That, was Harry North. Remii adored him, he taught her that she did have room in her heart for humans. Life was good with Harry around, and in her last year at the academy, she discovered the feelings she had been feeling around him meant she was crushing on him. She did not act on it though, and they parted ways when they graduated. She regretted it, but that was life. She was moving on to new things.
✘Post Academy
Shortly after finishing in Blue Ridge, she stumbled across someone. Her grandfather. She hadn't believed it first, her dark oracles challenging and angry at him for claiming such a thing. But, then he hugged her and she instantly knew it was him. She flew to Ireland for the summer, and decided to live there. She took all four of her horses, and of course, Thyme, with her. Then, her grandfather saw this place online. Remii knew she was going to go to college, and it seemed like the perfect place. So, off she went to England with her pets. Now at the college, she cannot wait to get started. With a little bit more confidence, she's speaking a lot more. But, she's still very nervous around other people. Remii's grandfather has also come to the collage, but shall be living in town. This pleases the girl a lot, she doesn't ever want to lose him again.
